It's not static. The list of coaches can change during time. The reason I support the idea it's good for people who would like to learn and also it's good for people who like to teach.
Being a medium player takes a while. If we reduce the this time we can have more pro and medium players. Also, currently there is a wall between pro players and newbies. They have different worlds in the same lobby. I suppose coaching thing can break walls. Since there are already people to be a coach/student. The only missing thing they can't find each other. I would like solve this with the help of the community.
There are a few people at the moment who is motivated to teach. I believe there are more. If we can start small we gain experience on this issue quickly to establish a more sustainable structure.
The future plan is to establish a structure that is to build, easy to find coaches/students. Currently, I'm imagining a medium/pro player host a game like this "NEWBIE SCHOOL by Itrelles". With this method we don't have to contact and explain what is this. They just need to join the room and the coach will do the rest.
It would be perfect if we announce that players who has a prefix e.g. "&" are coaches. But if it requires extra download or too much effort. The method that I suggest above can work better.

It's already hard to learn everything at the beginning. I don't think that is a good idea to create something that needs downloads and setups. I prefer something easy, easy to understand what is it and requires less effort.
If there will be a school culture in the community I think the medium/pro players should be a coach easily without any bureaucracy. I don't mind they are official or not.
To be clear, I don't have a personal event. I just solve a part to success. In the Sunday Pro Games event there were more than 40 players who helped to create/finish the event from the community and outside the community.
This one is not related with upcoming 1v1 event. The absolute reason is to keep the new player at least a year or more.
Again, those are not related with me. I don't have a coach or an event. I do this for the community and there are other players who want to contribute more to the game. I just use my experience to make the things happen.
If adding a prefix is not easy I can expect an announcement support. I've been preparing some texts explaining what is it. The biggest problem here is to find and explain what is this school and how/where can they attend. There are several places we can reach experienced players. But there is no platform like lobby where we can identify and reach out new players. Showing them who is coach would be easier.

Well, actually, I think I understand what you've done there. Thanks for putting the extra time into the evaluation because it helped make the whole event even more interesting. I've heard many people say they watch or enjoy these games (and not just the players that liked to see themselves on TV). Not every tournament series so far caught on that well, so we can't but congratulate you on your work.
Having said that, I'm somewhat glad I can take a break this weekend.
@Boudica I thank you to be a part of this. We made it happen all together.
It's hard to come up with a fair system. However, this is what we have. It's more accurate if a player has high level of participation like you. There are still things we need to improve.
Currently, the score system encourages participation, winning, destroying, killing, sharing resources etc. Every week is different from other weeks. I have compared the players according to their participation. @Unknown_Player and @ffffffff have 7 weeks. You have 6 weeks. So, comparing the best 6 weeks seems fair to me. I use the same method for other players. Two of them have the same point. So, I looked how many weeks they participate. Obviously, If you participate more you have better chance.
Yes, it's good to have a break. But this not the end. We'll have another event. Stay tuned. Have a great day!

You got one red card. So that means you can't play the next match. I think it was for week #3. So, you are free to play. I'm not sure if you banned from the lobby but you can play in Sunday Pro Games events. The red card is just for one match.

These points came from your team game. You did a good job maybe, but individual success is not important here like 1v1 matches. If your team wins, everybody in the winning team gets 2 points. If you are in the losing team you get 1 point. If you see your skill score it's 0.56. You can't even compare with winning or losing. I think individual skills matters but not enough to win a team game because all the players are really good actually.
Sometimes rushing can help your team to win the game, sometimes it's a defence tactic. You can play really good in a match but that doesn't mean you win and your teammates lose. You win all, or you lose all. Being in the winning team is the most important thing here. Your individual skills affect less.

@sarcoma The league fixture is currently developing. We'd like to make it fair as possible as. The league fixture encourages pro players to join more than once at the moment. Sorting by average isn't fair for the players who attend regularly. If you look at the fixture @Unknown_Player has the highest score but he was in the losing team twice and he attended all 3 matches. @camelius and @ffffffffpre attended twice and they were in the winning team. So, they have a higher average. Attending more should be advantageous for the players and of course, this is a team game, they need to be in the winning team too to get more points. I believe we can make the league fixture better. Let's see if we can find someone who can help to make it better.

Sunday Pro Games 1v1 Development Thread

Hi all,
Now is the time to use the power of the 0 A.D. community to develop the next 1v1 event.
This thread is the main place for you to share, and vote for, all of your valuable ideas for the style, duration, score system, rules, streaming, commentating, drawing of lots, level of players, awards, etc. anything.
Let's all work together to make it better.
Event Period: Late October 4 weeks + 1 week optional on Sundays at 17.00 UTC
Here are the rules:
-Single elimination, 8 Players, 3 rounds
-The best players have priority to play. You need to be in the room early if you want to play.
-Players are allowed to ban 2 civs before every round.
-300 pop, small map, no dance
-The best players have priority to play. You need to be in the room early if you want to play.
-Players will be ordered by seed, best to worst.
-If you win, you gain 3 points. If you lose, you gain 1 point.
-At the end of the 4th week, If the best two players have the same point, there will be the 5th week.
