Sunday 19 CET A25 - Teamgame for testing balance !?

Recommended Posts

I think the A25 release candidate could benefit a lot from feedback gained by playing a "competitve" Teamgame. Who would be in at Sunday 19 CET ?

@borg_ @Feldfeld @chrstgtr @Stockfish @ffffffff@nani@Pudim@JC (naval supremacist)@Yekaterina@carthage@BoredRusher@Boudica@vinme@Dakara@Dizaka@faction02@cl2488@Jofursloft@Wendy22@badosu and all the others i forgot or cant find on Forum (pls inform)

Should be fun and A25 looks really nice. If you dont have A25 and dont know how to get it check out this thread with detailed instructions.

Make sure to update to the latest version

Thanks for taking notice and see you on Sunday

If micro and formations become more important you can consider me killed lol.

Formation = charge.

Micro and pace is quite like A23. If you can do well in A23 then you should have no problem. The game feels more responsive in general and no need to manually pathfind units.

Thats great to hear. To be frank, the pathfinding and unit responsiveness from a24 was a lot more tiresome than getting owned by Rauls' micro every game of a23.

Currently a Debian n00b trying to get off his Windows high.

Tried doing a24 on Debian but I've got a long way before I can follow the instructions provided to play a24.  I think a25 might be more difficult.

Wish I could participate, but currently my problems lie between my keyboard and chair.  Have fun, though!

Are you guys willing to play on RC2 Tomorrow? My thinking is it will be easier to install and we have a higher likelihood of a bigger TG. Also, there are many changes affecting balance even just in RC2, that it would be worthwhile to try it to assess what the balance issues could be.

CET is Central European Time, for me it converts to 10 AM Pacific Time.

Yeah, i would have time, but generally its a working day for many, and on Weekends overall player numbers are highest

I am worried that only 1 or 2 of us will have the right version. I also suspect that very few of us have played any multiplayer RC2. I think our testing today will be more successful if we just use RC2.

I don't know how to install RC2 on Linux :P

Hello there seeh,

I tried to build with svn like you did above but I couldn't complete the make step. The error says i'm missing "boost/version.hpp". I looked for this file but didn't find it anywhere. Perhaps this is the problem you were referring to? This file is needed for source/lib/pch/pch_boost.h

Any help would be appreciated!

If you are on macOS you have to run an extra step ;) (Do it before update-workspaces.sh)

You need to run https://trac.wildfiregames.com/browser/ps/trunk/libraries/osx/build-osx-libs.sh

Only once (we're unlikely to change it before A26)

So something like

cd ps/trunk/libraries/osx/

./build-osx-libs.sh -j13

Note that 13 is your number of cpu cores +1
