Inti's Questions (Make a unit not be able to gather?)
niektb replied to intipablo's topic in Tutorials & Guides
I think I might know what the issue is. You haven't specified the Promotion tag (which templates it promotes to after collection enough XP) You can do two things: 1. Specify a template: <Promotion> <Entity>units/athen_infantry_spearman_a</Entity> </Promotion> 2. Disable promotion: <Promotion disable=""/> -
Inti's Questions (Make a unit not be able to gather?)

(preferably in a spoiler to keep the post a bit readable ) -
I don't speak spanish either But based on the pictures: the gate and the walls look really big to me. I would like to see a comparison with a gate and walls from other civs. Also I suggest removing that slope again, in-game it would probably happen that the slopes would be on the outside of the wall, which is pretty lame About you're viking ship: could you do a size comparison with a quinquireme too? Other than the size it looks pretty decent! I would like to see a sail though. What do you think about oars @stanislas69? @shieldwolf23: do you still by change have that research document about the viking longboats? The link in the other topic gives a 404

The Kingdom of Kush: A proper introduction [Illustrated]

@balduin: as long as it's only being used as reference it can be any license. However, when it (or parts of it) actually will be used in the game it should be a CC-BY-SA or CC0 or something- 1.040 replies

How about using those bixies (like the two near the Civ Center entrance) as cult statues? Maybe with a re-texture to make those bixies golden (or anything) instead of stone...

What is it you don't understand about the warning?
-
@wowgetoffyourcellphone: TM doesn't lose out, but by the time this issue was reported (a whopping 7 months ago) Terra Magna didn't exist. Hence I used 'Rise of the East'
-
@Servo: Rise of the East follows the balance changes of the main game because the main game is tested a lot more. By following the main game we hope to give players the best playing experience

Your second image has a small subtitle reading 'Aztec ... 1580 AD'

I don't understand the question
-
You have footprint, which is just that blue ring around an object and then you have obstruction, which is the area it actually obstructs. These two things are completely independent
-
Don't make it too complex I would say. My suggestions: - make a wonder building from the govt center (a simple template edit would do) - select a third hero (wolflance/ayakashi made a list somewhere too). Maybe improve the looks of the other two on the fly... - select 2/3 distinctly different champion units - create a border fortress building and move some troops to that building - and finally, balance the civ so that it doesn't become to powerful
-
Or ayakashi's:

Noneed to re-research everything, wolflance made rather detailed research on most things. Here are his suggestions for champion units:
-
The governmental center can be used as wonder The Hans indeed lack champions (I recall there were some suggestions around in this forum) and what's problematic too is that the unit roster at the barracks is too broad. I've launched an idea of a Border Fortress (including a reference for a 3D model) to move some units to balance that (also somewhere in this forum) I disagree with moving the crossbow to the mercenary camp. According to our research, the crossbow was one of the most commonly used weapons (I need to look up for some sources if you want proof)

You should not put the mods in 0ad/mods/mod/ but in 0ad/mods/

wowgetoffyourcellphone's gameplay design
niektb replied to wowgetoffyourcellphone's topic in Gameplay Discussion
@DarcReaver: please mind your tone a little bit, will you? @Lion.Kanzen: if the only change would be to remove the CS concept than it would indeed be even more a AoK clone. However, combined with the other changes mentioned in this thread I think it plays quite differently -
Oh, I thought that the problem was that black (#000000) did not give enough depth...
-
What did solve it?
-
Hmm, I think Olmecs are a bit on the early side in our timeframe. Also, how different are they from the Zapotecs? I think most people want to see factions from other cultures first that are completely different (you know, scythians or something)

[Help] Fixing Glitching textures
niektb replied to Stan`'s topic in Tutorials, references and art help
Maybe you need to flip the normals of your faces? -
I suppose that this topic should be in the RotE subforum? Or even better, merged with the other mesoamerican topics? Seeing that the Zapotec faction is nearly finished it think it's better to just look at what's missing in the faction and then do some research on that specific item
