  1. I have also noticed a slow down as well even the sign on is slow again that will be related to the Db performance. Enjoy the Choice
  2. The maps folder is only created when there are maps in it so try creating one in the Atlas first. Enjoy the Choice
  3. The folder that you are looking is a hidden one so toggle "Show Hidden Files" in the view menu of your file browser any folder or file that starts with a "." is hidden this is for all Linux and OSX file systems then go to /home/yourusername/.local/share/0ad/mods/user notice the .local Enjoy the Choice
  4. IIRC there is a loot trickle but it is generalised for all units when they attack/destroy buildings so you would need to do search for the variables involved before you could modify the code to your requirements so I have a feeling that it will not be trivial task. Enjoy the Choice
  5. Most of the GUI and game play elements are JavaScript while the units are defined using XML not HTML for modding purposes that's all you need that and a real text editor if your on Windows download Notepad++ as it has a good syntax checking for a large selection of programming languages if your on Linux then usually the default text editor will do as for the Mac I'm not familiar with that eco system. 6. How can he with out knowing which mods you have guess and most likely be wrong Enjoy the Choice
  7. Formations have not been fully implemented and the pathfinder(the code that figures out where and how to move units) still needs some work it is being worked on though. Enjoy the Choice
  8. Muzzle flashes are certainly there as that is a particle effect as for the other questions not sure as I have not looked that closely at the code and it being mostly JavaScript not my favourite coding dialect but most should doable just time consuming in the actual implementation(code,test,re-code test.....) The proper idiom @Lion.Kanzen is more senior as most implies the oldest and I at 67 years surly beat you there though I am about the same seniority as you for our time on the forum just not as prolific at posting. Enjoy the Choice
  9. The symbol is prevalent all over the world as it was an symbol of the pole star and it's companions the Germanic uses are quite late in it's history, have seen pictographs about 2000 years old here on the Canadian Shield about a hundred kilometres from where I live. Enjoy the Choice
  10. Each client does as well as a check make sure all the clients have the same data the lag you see is mostly related to the pathfinder algorithm more units need more calculations it is being worked on as well as work on the render engine there is also the fact that we still really only use a single core of multi-core CPU's refactoring for multi-threading will be a very long and difficult task. Enjoy the Choice
  11. Most of the lag is due to the pathfinder routine that has to calculate where each unit is moving to next so more units means that this takes longer period your change of game play would not have the effect you outlined as everything is still in need of running though the pathfinder we are working it it is not a trivial(easy) problem. Enjoy the Choice
  12. But 3D rendering colour management is very dependant on the rendering system you use each modelling app uses a different one so getting photo realistic renders is still very much art and experience. Enjoy the Choice
  13. Not that many Linus Thorvald invented Git for the Linux kernel crew when the commercial versioning system they were using wanted to start charging them but he just did the cmd line version there are several GUI's for Git on the Linux side while Desktop Github is the best for Windows. Enjoy the Choice
  14. For you blenderheads on the forum blender 2.79 now has filmic colour management which does essentially what Lion's article is talking about in an open source environment. Enjoy the Choice
  15. It is possible that since this only appears on consuls that it a mark of consular rank after all they were elected. Enjoy the Choice
  16. You should find the logs here /home/username/.config/0ad/logs the ones to post are interestinglog.html and the system_info.txt Enjoy the Choice
  17. Remember listening to the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" way back in the eighties where 42 made it's entry there is even a club here in town called "Zaphod 's" hosted the author for book signing even. Enjoy the Choice
  18. That just the way that XML should work part of the language design itself Enjoy the Choice
  19. ~/Library/Application\ Support/0ad/ Is that where you are looking for the mods? Enjoy the Choice

  21. You may have to restore your Folder preferences in Finder. Enjoy the Choice
  22. There is no map download function at all so you will have to get your new map to them some way most likely cloud based ie: DropBox or One Drive we have no way at present of curating extra maps as their are security issues in any un-curated download service. Enjoy the Choice
  23. We are a history focused game not fantasy. Enjoy the Choice
  24. A terminal gets you a command line interface which came to computers way before GUI so everything is text based so not really surprising that you don't know about them Some of us did our first usage of computers way back then the GUI first appeared in the early 70's at Xerox Park then finally copied by both Mac's and Windows in the early 90's though X-windows was available on most university Unix systems by the late 70's mainframe systems. My dates may be of +- 5 years memory getting kinda porous at my age Enjoy the Choice
