That is good practice any time there are lots of changes as the cache tends to override the new instances of entity definitions ie: if it's already cached that copy is used not the new one it's a compromise to improve performance as the load new data takes longer. Enjoy the Choice

All of our translation efforts are done using Transifex have a look at https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Localization from our wiki for more detailed info on how to participate note that most of the Greek names we use are not contemporary Greek but ancient Greek as are the voice tracks. Seen it last Tuesday beautiful production design all a round and they were not afraid to play for the laughs loved the "we'er vegetarians" one great play on stereotypes as the whole movie challenges them. Enjoy the Choice -
Thorfinn did mention that they should be citizen-soldiers but restricted in rank advancement and be primarily economic and canon fodder units.Since they can do the economic support role they can not be mercs as mercs can not preform as economic units. Enjoy the Choice

The Kingdom of Kush: A proper introduction [Illustrated]
Loki1950 replied to Sundiata's topic in Official tasks
Hi @LordGood have you downloaded any custom brushes for Krita yet lots of them out there BTW they have the same file format as the GIMP and blender brushes so are useful with those apps though most of the speed brushes don't work in GIMP. Do a google with Cazu Brush Collection for Krita for a set that I have found useful. Enjoy the Choice- 1.040 replies

BTW all those errors are in a log file most of them will be syntax or implementation errors that your changes introduced into the JavaScript or XML templates for the units and buildings resolving them means figuring out why they happened Have a look a https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths for finding where those log file are hidden away. The most efficient unit one was most likely from the AI code but I can not be sure as I don't see either the code or errors Enjoy the Choice

Gameplay Issues for OSX Users
Loki1950 replied to HMS-Surprise's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
Didn't even bother with a search as I do remember that the Android port exits but has some major issues like a completely different render pipeline and it lags big time and it's very much a work in progress even worst then the main game Enjoy the Choice -
Gameplay Issues for OSX Users
Loki1950 replied to HMS-Surprise's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
@HMS-Surprise you might want to edit your topic tile to "Gameplay issues for OSX" as iOS is strictly for the iPhone not the Mac family as far I can recall no one has ported the code to iOS. Android yes though it struggles Enjoy the Choice -
He specifically asked for Open Source references not commercial software as both Photoshop and Z Brush are so Krita /Gimp and blender look up how much a single seat licence costs for Z Brush it starts at 875 American dollars, there is a free version but anything created with it can not be used by us as it's licence terms prohibit that same as the free Maya versions. Desired gameplay(planned) features for A23
Loki1950 replied to Lion.Kanzen's topic in Gameplay Discussion
You only need to recompile if you are on Linux or OSX there has always been a Window's exe as part of the SVN though the auto build fails sometimes so all you need is TortoiseSVN to get the svn version on Windows if one gets an svn error please post about it one of our more geeky types will be able to help you clear it up. It would depend on whether the support libraries(dll's on Windows) have the needed functions for Host Migration if not then the needed functions have to bundled in a way that would be of use on all our platforms. Enjoy the Choice

We still have our "Report post" link though clicking it during the slow down was a bit painful as to the cause of the slow down it's self my guess is that the data base that manages the whole forum needed a new index generated. Enjoy the Choice

Now how do we get the pathfinder to be aware of the terrain effects this has been on the wish list for ages but the pathfinder is not fast enough yet one of the reasons for the lag in unit movement and formations not working right. Enjoy the Choice

The engine is written in C++ and JavaScript all of the source code and art assets are managed with SVN which is a versioning system that tracks all changes with a data base so that it is possible to revert any changes that don't work properly their are several versioning systems Git and Bazaar could also have been used you will not find much documentation on RTS engines as most are proprietary so their owners have a vested interest in non transparency so that they can keep the cash flow going.
