  1. The date of 6th June 2021 at 23.59 CET has been confirmed for the 0 A.D. Alpha 25 Feature Freeze, a major precursor to the actual release of the new alpha version of the game. What is the Feature Freeze? The Feature Freeze is the point at which new features cease to be added to the new alpha version and the development team focus solidly on final preparations and bug fixes to facilitate the release. What Happens After 6th June? From June 7th to June 13th there will a period of intense testing and bug fixing. June 13th at 23.59 CET – Commit and String Freeze. This is the point where all further changes are suspended, and release candidate versions of Alpha 25 are created and distributed for testing in a controlled environment. This is the final opportunity to discover and resolve any release blocking bugs or issues. Want To Be Involved in Pre-Release Testing? A provisional date range has been decided upon with June 20th being slated as the earliest possible release date and June 30th. Please be aware this is still provisional at this stage and is entirely reliant on a smooth transition through phases described above, with no major release blocking issues being present in the final tested release candidate. Final confirmation of the release date will be announced in advance of launch – ideally 3 days to a week prior, as will any postponement and revised timescales in the event of a major issue being discovered. What Will Alpha 25 Be Named? A final decision on the naming of the new alpha will be made during the Feature Freeze period, but you still have time to get involved. Every new iteration of 0 A.D. gets a name and this is your chance to contribute your suggestions. The Alpha 25 Name Suggestions thread on the 0 A.D. Community Forum has been open since January 2021, but there is still time to vote for your favourite and put forward your own suggestions. 0 A.D. release names start with the letter of the alphabet that corresponds to the release version. Alpha 22 was Venustas, Alpha 23 was Ken Wood, Alpha 24 was Xšayaṛša, and Alpha 25 will start with a ‘Y’.   3. A 'Read more' button in the mod selection download screen when selecting a mod would be nice. Directing the user to the mod on mod.io. (or place/call the full discription from mod.io in a new window ingame if thats possible)

Buenos días/tardes; -Para las unidades Auxiliares/mercenarias terrestres (enlazando el tema anterior con las unidades auxiliares marítimas púnicas; Fenicios y Cartaginenses ) , aquí la proposición ; Auxiliares vetones ( tribu Vetona); -Localización; (Las fronteras varían según las fuentes ... pero no mucho ) Unidades Vetonas; Jinete vetón (caballería con espada)----------------------------(nombre lusitano desconocido) Lancero vetón (infantería con escudo pesado)-----------------(nombre lusitano desconocido) Escaramuzador vetón (infantería con venablos);----------------(nombre lusitano desconocido) (aún no encontré unas buenas fuentes fiables del idioma lusitano , pero seguro que se les podrá nombrar de alguna manera) -Aspecto de unidades; (Reclutados en edificio especial llamado ; "Castro Vetón" , solo creé 4-5 edificios especiales , creo que no son muchos) Aspecto de edificios y "Castros Vetones"; (Estas son las reconstrucciones del " Castro vetón de Las Merchanas", el más icónico y que sirve como aspecto general de esta cultura , pero hay más castros ; Castro de Saldeana. Buenas , Siguiendo con las unidades marítimas , aquí unos mapas de las rutas mercantiles fenicias en la Península ibérica; Posible Embarcadero(en vez de Puerto); (Lo hice así por que las descripciones dicen que los mercaderes fenicios desembarcaban en las playas/Bahías/calas etc.. cercanas a los asentamientos indígenas y siglos después de su llegada empezaron a construir algunas "Factorías Comerciales" aún siglos antes de la llegada de los romanos ) Disculpe las molestias*

  7. Rendering is a bottlneck, it's not the biggest, but it is one definitely. We're adding more options to lower quality in the game for A25.

  8. According to the stats 99.8% of our users support GLSL. So I'd say the art is more likely to do that than the removal. Plus it's not for now. Water too. A lot of people use intel gpus (50%) (It can also be because it uses the wrong GPU on laptops), and you can't exactly drop support for that. https://feedback.wildfiregames.com/results/gpu/

  9. All low/disabled with glsl and water transparency + MSAA or FXAA for team games. If you play single player 1v1 you can crank all the setting to max. Notice I didn't mention any PC specs because it doesn't matter what you have, 0ad will still bring your pc cpu to its knees.

  13. I have noticed that soldiers sometimes don't go on to the next tree, likely because they are assigned to a formation. Formation controller/UnitAI conflicts and makes the soldiers stop gathering after the first target is depleted?

  15. As I understand it it's not the difference between a human or AI opponent, but the number of units; so generally in 1v1 you have less units than in a 4v4. If you watch ValihrAnt's vids on yt you'll frequently see him lower the graphics settings as the game progresses. @Stan` Thanks for the answer, still I don't think practical tips are easy to find.

  19. Yeah, I got it. Our devices have Intel iGPUs from 605 to 655 and Intel CPUs between something as 1.5 and 2.4 GHz (2 and 4 cores). When we (3 people) play together vs. 1 AI opponent, all device fans are at max. ;) @nani Just to make sure that I understand you correctly: You mean that I shall enable GLSL, shall set everything to low or even disable it, and what about water transparency + MSAA or FXAA? Also disable/lower them? Sorry that I am not quite clear about this (though it's obvious to me that disabling everything is best for performance). I have no experience, though, which of the other settings (besides Shadows and Silhouettes being expensive, as @Stan` already mentioned) are most demanding.

  20. Hi, There is currently no benchmark feature in 0 A.D. for this. What draws the most really depends on your hardware. Shadows and Silhouettes are expensive.

  22. How about some extra functions for the mini map? E.g. the possibility to toggle some items of interest like show only enemies or only allies or only neutral civs, emphasize locations of civic centres (or make them more visible in general?), show paths of patrolling units or merchants, etc. (If that makes sense on the mini map at all).

You mean the mollossian epirots surely but no way they are too close to macedon both culturally and strategy wise, maybe in the future could be a hero idk as he did rule macedon very briefly. The numidians are inserted in the carthage faction as well as phoenicians , i mean Tyre is know for the dye and being besieged like all the time.

  26. Recently I watched a historical video which says that the pop-culture siege towers (which are used to capture walls) are rather wrong. In reality, the siege towers where used to shoot at the defenders (and to destroy gates / walls / buildings) So they should be fine.

  35. Hi again ! New map. Was quite easy to make but nonetheless fun. Tha map is supposed to be the Sahara desert so there is not much to it apart from the sand and dunes. Players will have to trade and fight to defend their trades lines while using the strategically height of the dunes to defend and attack. Best setting are gameplay with teams, very high starting resources and map size large, very large or even for better experience: gigant . The procedural generation of the dunes is taken partly from the pdf "Dunes and Sandwaves with Terragen 2 A tutorial by Laurent Avenel (Wiwine)". Feel free to point out some possible flaws or improvements that could be made and try it out ! Thx @(-_-) for the perlin code. DOWNLOAD MAP: nani_maps_v0.10.0.pyromod

  36. Sand dune maps are so cool but so impractical from a gameplay standpoint. That said I'm not a huge fan of the orange sand, and it's a bit boring both from a texture standpoint and in terms of terrain. I think there should be random open/lowland areas that aren't covered in dunes. Maybe even oases. That would make it more interesting and also create an opportunity to add trees and things to the map to make it less resource poor. This too, although that's really easy to do.
