@Stan` @Lion.Kanzen Sorry for late reply , i was traveling if i get it correctly the discussion is if in Persian empire (old era ) women were involved in military actions or not. well it depends you look at which period of time , I believe you are referring to Achaemenid empire during the Achaemenid empire era and even after that till the end of Sasanian Empire ( invasion of Arabs) women had equal rights same as men .. they were free to chose their occupation and they also get paid equally to men based on their performance.... not only during the Achaemenid and since long time back every child ( boy / girl ) had to learn swim / using bow / riding horse... no difference between the King's child or farmer child .. boy or girl you had to learn these skills ( because of this Parthian army was strong even without standing army) Also they had chance to join military although it was not common .. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantea_Arteshbod https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apranik https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Sura_of_Parthia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisia_I_of_Caria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordiya4 points

I like the p1 colony bonus (in one's own territory!), as someone who often plays Seleucids. The slight nerfing of Pikemen for A26 definitely takes away some of the better strategies for playing Seleucids and makes merc units and colonies more important. Leaning in to that with an earlier colony would help mitigate the challenges.2 points

Looks like the biggest balancing changes are committed. So after the last RB I think we'll go for RC2 and one last commit.2 points

Not only it provides all the advantages that you mentioned, but it also provides 20 population space and building it in p1 means that you can start mercenary production directly after reaching p2. I think it would be a bonus that provides a strong start, though not as strong as the Ptolemaic start. When other factions build a barracks, the Seleucids would be able to build the colony instead. It would be a differentiation that changes the start for the Seleucids considerably. I would think it is a good thing if factions feel unique from the very first minutes of the game.2 points

Sounds really cool. I would recommend that you change village/town/city phases to hierachical ranks. Like you go from a Knight in charge of a small manor and then become a Lord and then finally a Duke or something like that. In doing so, I would also recommend you change the name of the Royal Knights to something else. I also recommend some kind of upgrade tree for female peasants. In my own mod the lord-player has the option to marry one of the woman and she becomes a Lady. She then offers various benefits (which I am still not fully decided on). One of the options that the Lady provides is the option of recruiting a small number of soldiers that are cheap and do not affect your population cap. The idea being that he father is also a noble Lord from another part of the Kingdom and would send aid on behalf of his daughter. Once you have a Lady, you could allow other woman to become her maids - they would presumably begin obtaining some new resource like honour. I also think multiple heros is another good option - with some heros offering and economic bonus (bailiff/steward) and others offering a combat bonus (Marshal/Master-at-Arms). Knights/Vassals could offer increased population cap to reflect that they have people who have sworn fealty to them. That means if you have a Knight in your service, he will likely have some extra soldiers (population).2 points

Given the context, and the triple post fact, I'm surprised if "Organization" means Wildfire Games. here. ^^2 points

"Crocodiles have an important role in the environment. As adults they regulate the populations of other animals – stopping them from overcrowding and degrading ecosystems. Crocodiles also create habitats for other animals by burrowing and nest building. During the dry season, the presence of crocodiles deters land animals from using and drinking the limited water supplies. This protects aquatic life and systems. Protecting and restoring crocodile habitats benefits people by creating clean water supplies and healthy fish supplies." also favourite animal of world chess champion Magnus Carlsen2 points

im certain world wouldnt be better without crocodiles, surely theres some butterfly effect that would totally decimate many ecosystems similar to how wolves going extinct/getting hunted down in some areas caused creation of deserts via herbivorous animals like deer totally decimating the local flora. https://www.worldanimalprotection.org.uk/blogs/amazing-animals-compelling-crocodiles12 points

I kind of considered their Military Colonies to already be a bonus (one that they share, as Successor Kingdoms, with the Ptolemies; a bonus that ties them together conceptually). Perhaps the Seleucids have the ability to upgrade their Military Colonies to full-fledged Civic Centers? So, you can keep the merc training aspect of the Military Colony and accept the lower territory effect and less health of the structure, or you can choose to upgrade it to the Civic Center and get the extra health and territory, but lose the merc training aspect.2 points

Since some days ago Frinsong started to express very heavy opinions about islamic religion in the lobby (it is a religion made by a pedophile, it should be forbidden in the west etc.). Then he started to join matches, write those things and quit. Would be good to ban him. If it is not enough, he even wrote multiple times "add hommini" instead of "ad hominem". Can someone please stand up in the name of islamic people and latin speakers?1 point

I don't know where is a good place to put this thread. But i thought it was a really good discussion to have and I think it will be helpful. Both of these videos I think are extremely helpful for game design and may help to give direction and focus to developers, modders and the project as a whole. Here are some key points: Many players of RTS only play Single player campaigns, and no competitive. For Starcraft 2, this was about an 80%/20% split. Many extremely popular games are extremely moddable: Minecraft, Skyrim, Roblox, Team Fortress, Halo 3. From this, I think that Modding, and sharing and playing mods co/op should be a focus of development. Single player campaigns are great, but this is something which comes after really good modding and mod sharing tools are implemented. Things such as balancing are much easier to do with modding tools, as makers can share their own versions of balancing. Some of these balancing settings could even be chosen from game setup(I'm not sure what to include yet).1 point

This guy sometimes randomly joins games, just to post something similiar to the above mentioned and then leaves the game again.1 point

I respect Islam and his comments about Islam would not be tolerated in my country (both UK and China). Therefore, rest assured, I will ban this player if I see him talking like this in my hosted games. I don't understand his hatred towards crocdiles; they make great soups and stews。 Even if he doesn't like eating them, many people do. He can achieve his dream by delivering crocdiles to restaurants, the chefs there will very be very glad! A 3v3 map; all players start on a modified continent map surrounded by water, with a large lake in the middle. May not be balanced for PVP games. You can get the two files from https://github.com/andy5995/0ad-maps/tree/trunk/maps/skirmishes aa2020_3_modified_continent_6p.xml aa2020_3_modified_continent_6p.pmp1 point

What about https://code.wildfiregames.com/D4713 ? These are pretty major changes to the Han units. also: https://code.wildfiregames.com/D4704 and https://code.wildfiregames.com/D4722 These latter two are minor balance changes I guess.1 point

I would allow it only in owned territory in p1 because I wouldn't want people to place it right next to the opposing base and be super annoying with that. @Stan` Maybe it is better to split this. I hope that would invite other people to discuss any proposals for Seleucids.1 point

Thanks for the report Pemulis. This makes a big difference when people post evidence on the forum about player misconduct. In the future, ping user1 and Dunedan to more quickly direct the information to them. @user1 @Dunedan See the above post for a request for lobby moderation action, thanks.1 point

What might be a nice idea is to allow Seleucids to build a single colony in p1 in their own territory. Mercenaries would still be limited to p2. That would be something that makes the Seleucids different from any other faction.1 point
