People can always run it through GT themselves - it still makes grammar mistakes and some mistranslations that could be anything from slightly embarrassing to quite incomprehensible, depending on the language pair and direction translated.   5. Hi everyone, just came to tell everyone that I love 0 AD Editor, because of all the amazing Artistic sceneries that can be made with it. When I downloaded this game few months ago , I did it because I saw a Video presenting the best 10 open sources game in the world, with a visual showcase of all the games, and 0 AD was the top of the bests... As soon as I saw it... I came looking for it in a heart beat and downloaded.... Then I start exploring it and found the editor, and decide to play with it and my girlfriend came, and saw what I was doing, She never saw the little soldiers nor the castles and buildings. Only the beautiful landscape textures, and the millions of combinations that can be done to mimic reality with the editor, while I was absolutely in a trance, playing with the editor.... Then I show her the little roman soldiers, and all the other factions, their buildings, characters, the fauna....and start talking to her about the history of the age in a generic way.... And she as me fell in love with the age the game represent and all the amazing things that can be done with the Atlas engine....and suggest me the idea of making a map of Europe and the Mediterranean Sea with all the factions and cities, stiles of fauna, landscapes, to put colors, trees, make them look cool, give love to all the templates, combine them, play with them, try to make that world you are making as beautiful as you can possibly do, and beyond by pushing its Atlas editor engine to as much as you can get from it, IF YOU CAN! ...And more, if you have the time.... The experience of making a world with this engine is a mystical experience...I do really love the job you all have done...and I mean it...I have been sharing this pictures with a very few people, AFTER A POST KIDNAPPING i DID BY ACCIDENT...with no bad intentions...for real!....And I don't want to be the uncoolest guy around you guys... But I do really think, that I must share them with you all. In order to let you know you are not alone, please.. Share your pictures here too...let me see what you got, made, create....Any Good mod to recommend me??? Please let me know , so others as well, feel welcome to share them here with me, so anyone that show up in this post, so they know about too... Because, guys, at the end, this 0 AD universes is not only made to be played...but is also about giving us all...a chance to create something visually artistic, and fun to play with, have a good time. A lovely hobby to be part off. There are millions of beautiful landscapes possibilities of combinations, that can be created , by cobining templates, and playing with the low terrain and hight terrain tool... Anyone that loves visual art, specially artist or artistic oriented people, creative people, ( if they happen to be History lovers, the better,) will fall in love with 0 AD, and it's an outstanding editor engine. My scenario will never ever be as beautiful as I would like it to be visually...but I do really, hope it inspires all you modDers, map and scenario makers, so 0 AD fans like me...To make your own, and make them beautiful to look at, and fun to play in them...SHARE THEM... please, if any of you have great picks with outstanding scenery, OR A GREAT MOB SUGGESTION...   6. It's not about battallions, those games, unlike 0AD, don't include base building and are only focused on battle management, hence some more micro for each unit is more fun than encumbering. If we added it to 0AD, it would become almost a necessary move for people using melee units, adding to their required micro. Do you think it's a buff for melee? It's not. Just adding to melee units speed would be a buff, not a user-activated ability that is so relevant that it is necessary. On the other hand, it could be self-activated, but let's stop a moment to consider what we have now: running, the way it is now, is a confusing mechanic that noone in this thread new all the triggers for, it causes inconsistent behaviour and even a proper bug (that @Player of 0AD pointed out). This is what happens when a feature, even one that "is just a gimmick", gets added without extensive testing. And why would we even want to add it? AoE does wonderfully without it! Keep it simple! Keep it simple, silly! By the way, a "berseker mode" that cannot be retreated, like @LetswaveaBook suggested, seems like fun. But not for all units, just as a particular tactic employed by some special unit: naked fanatics would be a natural choice.

  8. You like Star Trek as well? I was almost unfriended by some Star Wars fans when they saw me watching Star Trek. I don't know why but they seem a bit too extreme for me. There is nothing wrong in liking any one or both of the shows.

  9. We seem to be going off topic here. My main point is that players can name themselves anything that is not directly offensive to some people. For example 'JustusIsNub' is unacceptable but 'StarTrekBest' is ok. Names of political parties are also ok because if you think from the perspective of Romans, the guy called Carthage is unacceptable.

  10. Hey guys...if you all are in to SCIFI, specially in to Star Trek ... Why not a Mod about the first ANUNAKIS and the Sumerians??? Do any of you remember Age of Mythology??? Well, I envision something like that, but in a very far way pass...some 12,000 before the flood. With this Aliens landing on earth, building a few colonies all spread around planet earth and then, put them to create the first Human hybrids by mixing their DNA with the native neanderthals to create the first Humans in order to be use them as slaves and soldiers, and then going to war with the other Colonies... I read a couple of Books talking about such theory by a guy named Zacharias Sitchin, back in the 90's, An scenario like that will blow everyone's mind. And it will be cool if it can have a few spaceships and alien tech, combine with ancient tech. It will be cool also to see the Humans worshiping The Anunakis as Gods, and building temples for them in order to get their favor at war against other human tribes and their Alien Gods... Something wild and crazy like that... I don't think that a game like that with such background Story, have ever been made...and it will be great, if someone makes such a game possible ... Just saying.

We need to focus on bringing in more people, and above all to act to reach an understanding between the developer community, veteran players and new generations. I need 4 kinds of people here and very committed and loyal. -Multiplayer testers ( and if you program and make changes... You are welcome to aboard) if you are an expired veteran from 0 A.D to 23 it would be very good choice to hear. -Programmers or Modders for new balance gameplay, there are many new faces... -Testers and people with ideas and design vision. -Experienced players. (same as first.) if you are an expired veteran from 0 A.D to 23 it would be very good choice to hear. We need to reverse and move forward with the changes. Those who complained about A24 is your chance to help. Goals. -create a list of ideas for fix (balance) the game. -to have a generation of new volunteers to organize the development of the game balance. -make multiplayer attractive to new players and veterans.

  12. 0.A.D could benefit from visual things like a day-and-night cycle as well as different weather that occurs randomly(like dry, cloudy, stormy, rainy, etc.) They don’t have to have any effect on the gameplay, but they would make it more immersive. Credit to this idea goes to L Gunther.

  16. Edit: After giving it I second thought I've decided I ought to still post this comment, since I think it contains some useful perspectives on this topic. However after rereading my on words, I came to the realization that I don't agree with my own conclusions! While I pointed to the Starcraft 2 Zealot as an example of why this charge ability we are discussing would not work as well if it were player controlled, there are two other examples of mobility enhancing skills in that game that point to the opposite conclusion. Medivac Boost and Stalker Blink both work great while being 100% player controlled. More over in my own eternally unpublished total rebalance mod for the game Achron, I gave every single unit the ability to blink teleport to any location in its vision radius for only a modest resource cost (and only partly because I want compensate for that game's chronic pathfinding screwups). Presumably I did not think that would be impossible to balance! So yeah, I'm a bit of a dunce today... but maybe a useful dunce? You decide... Player attention spent double clicking to make units sprint is time not spent making units at home. APM is also a skill with a high floor and a low ceiling, which means it has a fairly toxic character. Any time you add an active ability to a game you are trying to fit it within a sweet spot inside those two dimensions, plus the additional dimension of whether the mechanic wouldn't work better as an auto-cast. In the context of this proposed sprint ability, it needs to be tactically potent enough that it is worth using at all, but not so potent that you should be using it every instant it becomes available. And it needs some sort of deeper tactical dimension, so players agree any large or small victory won with it feels earned and not just a fluke of luck, timing, or dexterity. It the case of this feature, I really don't see how you thread that needle. I think the sweet spot is very narrow as an active ability, and it's much bigger in both dimensions once you make it an auto-cast. I mean, the closest analog I know of is the SC2 Zealot Charge, and does anyone turns off its auto-cast?

  20. First of all, all of the biomes are beautiful, so well done to all of the map makers and art department. However, I just need to point out the nub biomes: 1. Sudanian Savanna is nub, because of weird tree distribution. 2. Nubia is nub as the name suggests, as you can't really tell the fruit trees from regular palm trees. Tree distribution is also a bit strange. All other biomes are fine for TG, but watch out for the very small bushes.

  26. Wait really? So they are not used to pour soldiers into the walls? I was about to think of a way to unload garrisoned soldiers into wall turrets. I wonder what the top part of the tower is intended for. I imagined that it is supposed to unfold a plank in front of the wall, letting soldiers to run onto the wall. Probably it is actually just to let archers shoot over the wall easily?

  28. So, as colleagues say, unfortunately, these cases of players fleeing the game have been occurring more frequently when they are about to lose. I will not publish the previous ones because I intend to confront again the players who left their games because I believe that there was some problem - I choose to give them a second chance. …But well… It is already the 3rd or 4th game with this user that he simply leaves the game when he feels he is going to lose.   35. Hi all experts, can someone explain me, why the line "g_Map.LoadMapTerrain("sahyadri_buttes_5")" doesn't work anymore? For now i've to use the line "Engine.LoadMapTerrain("maps/random/sahyadri_buttes_5p.pmp")", but also this line does nothing but a flat, grey map. Before the new version of 0ad i got with the line "g_Map.LoadMapTerrain("sahyadri_buttes_5")" not only the complete heightmap, but also the terrain-textures. This is related to all *.pmp files i've made in the past. None of them is working for now. Also the renamed file "sahyadri_buttes_5p". Using the line "createArea( new MapBoundsPlacer(), new HeightmapPainter( translateHeightmap( new Vector2D(-12, scaleByMapSize(-12, -25)), undefined, convertHeightmap1Dto2D(Engine.LoadMapTerrain("maps/random/sahyadri_buttes_5p.pmp").height)), minHeightSource, maxHeightSource));" gives me the heightmap, but not more the terrain-textures. Also it was a big surprise that none of my triggers are working now. The new art of creating triggers is, for me, difficult to understand. So, i have problems to rewrite all my triggers so that they work.. Another, and for me the biggest problem, is, it's not possible for me to get the excellent of my fonts in Windows 10 and so also not in the game. This is not related to 0ad. In Januar i've destroyed my Windows-Partition and so i must create a new one with Windows 10 Pro. From that time i have no more the same, clear Fonts on my Windows. And also not in the game. Maybe someone has a similar problem and, perhaps, a solution for that.

  39. the graphic card... sight, not all pc can have one of those video card, laptop for example. and i dont know much about AMD microprocessors. where you buy that desktop? since 2006 my family don't buy a Desktop. we all have a Laptop, i have 3 now hahaha. 2 with win7 and a Old Macbook white.

  40. This is a only an AMD Athlon II quad core, 4GB RAM, with a budget ATI Radeon 5450 graphics card. I get something like 12 fps with all the game's graphics options enabled, but it's still playable.
