I'll explain in detail. About 40 secs to 30 secs is because I created a standart time to technologies. Economy techs 30 secs, Army techs 40 secs. About the reduction of wood from 100 to 80 is because we now have 3 quarters, and soldiers are not trained in the center, so this reduction will help the player to up the technology without suffering too much delay in the construction of his first barrack. This reduction also helps civilizations with big houses to build their first house without being delayed by population, which happens in the vanilla. The reduction of the rate is basically a consequence.3 points

Great commentary as always! I know, the balancing is harder when the level of some players differs between games, but perhaps it's better to let someone experienced that isn't playing make the teams. I was all for what Feldfeld suggested, even though I don't think it would have made much difference. I don't think that the balance complaints after the game were very legitimate. Partly because the complainers agreed before the game, partly because many things could have been better by our team: We talked about making some early warships, but no one made any until borg had killed our fishing ships. Hannibal managed to save it by his naval skills. Half of our team didn't really make any economy upgrades (and let's not include my baskets here, I had great food income and I wanted that wood for camels). The big push at darkcity's side wasn't very early and we wasted time on the hard defenses, while darkcity even managed to get a fortress up. It wasn't really my plan to attack from the south without any siege weapons. Anyway, it was a good game overall. I liked the map selection because anything is better than playing Mainland all the time. And yeah, I'm just saying all of this to finish it in a positive tone.2 points

I think I will just lock this thread for now, it's gone too far off the rails as it is. If someone wants to discuss @borg-'s mod there's a thread for that, if someone wants to discuss the gameplay there are I don't know how many where you can do that, and if you actually do want to discuss the balancing for the development version of the game someone can start a thread with some more specific discussion. @StopKillingMe Do consider this a warning, if you don't treat other people on these forums with more respect your access to these forums will be limited. In general if you want to criticise something and have your criticism taken seriously it's more successful to be specific and provide examples than to just dismiss something as a whole.2 points

Yeah. But I was looking into this paragraph specifically: Well, I was thinking about groups of the Suebian confederation -> regional standard unit Neighbors or Allies -> mercenaries. Is a way to have mercenaries and have fuller rooster in the barbarian civs. Think the metal cost as part of the alliance and deals, or something like this. Also, the name would be something like "Cherusci Allied Pikeman" in the same way of "Italian Allied Cavalry" of Romans. Other units would be just the demonym of the tribe + Class1 point

Coexisted does not mean anything but yes, we can make other germanic groups as regional units. No problem with this, it should be only specified to not spread misinformation. For honesty. Rhine-Weser Germans served often as auxiliaries for the Roman army. So cavalry as well.1 point

1- This would make map balancing even worse, some players start with 4 berries others with 1. This time reduction should come with a reduction in collection rate. 2- It would probably make slingers weak(-30% attack), Javelins will dominate, and not would it change the fact that it is still op against construction. We need to go deep here, maybe changes all ranged units? 3- Should help.1 point

Well, doing a fast reading of wikipedia seems that Suebians and Cherusci coexisted and sometimes were allies. If the idea of the civ is doing regional units for the tribes that were under the confederation, Cherusci pikeman could be an allied unit (mercenary)1 point

I have a mod with many changes and I need everything to adapt to these changes. This does not apply to vanilla, are different gameplay (mainly at the start). Balancing a game does not simply change values and it's all right, you need to make every change looking at the past changes and also at the global level of the game. To create a new tech for example, is very easy but must be careful with several things, aura heroe, aura units, bonus global (faction), bonus per civ, bonus per unit, others techs, etc.. About 30secs, in the mod all technologies related to the economy are 30secs, army techs 40secs. Only cc techonologies and special techs the rule does not apply.1 point

When installing autociv in addition to fgod, they cause problems for me. There is a red bar across the top, and the rendered cursor appears to be 100px away from where the cursor is actually interacting with the game. Sequence of steps: Install 0AD on macOS. Able to play single-player and multi-player without issue. Install autociv, enable it, start mods (restarts game). Works without issue. Uninstall autociv (discovered fgod, and instructions say to install fgod first). Install fgod mod, enable it, start mods (restarts game). Works without issue. Install autociv as well, enable it as well, start mods (restarts game). Stuff is now broken (per below image). Upon the next start of the game, the autociv mod has been automatically disabled again. So it appears to have detected that it didn't work well (yay). But I'm not sure why, or how it should be installed instead. EDIT: I got it to work by pressing "Save Configuration" between the "Enable" and "Start Mods" steps. This way, the actually problem still happened during the automatic restart from "Start Mods", but... after manually exiting and re-opening from that, the problem went away and with the mod still enabled and working fine.1 point

Yeah, slingers destroying fortresses seems a little silly to me as well, and kind of defeats the purpose of siege with slinger-civs. You can just mass slingers and use them as your siege...1 point

sorry if I waste time seeing the art or gameplay aspects. but i like see the beauty the actual game is. and thinking how is working the mod. I have w crash after several clicks in middle of battle. the OBS records the game very weird.1 point

I like that the knocked back units have to "stand up" before they re-enter combat. I would say that they need a little more variation in the standing up animation. Right now it looks unnatural for all units to kind of "chair up" in the same way. Hands and knees, one foot forward, stepping upward and righting oneself would look better.1 point
