You'd need the command.txt of that replay, upload it here and give some more informations. See the description of the first post of this thread.2 points

The aura on which the 10 damages per second are made is in fact extremely small with 8 meters radius. Even a pikeman attacking this hero can manage to be far enough to be unaffected. To kill a complete eco, the hero would have to stop 3 sec right next to each woman in some case, shoot an arrow on another one then move. He could kill a few women at once with his aura only if they are too close to each other like on a field for example. The damages to an economy would be probably the same as those done with about 6-8 cavalry units. Disaster are more likely to arise in the rare cases in which that hero can go next to a large group of enemy soldiers without being targetted (health draining ignore armor). That might be because the units are already targetting something hard to kill like the champions in Yekatarina's example.2 points

I think some ranged units should have it. Besides the obvious variation in stats there could be some more distinctive features for ranged units. For example, the chad javelin thrower is all the rage now due to their olympic attack speed and dmg while the vergin infantry archer is completely overshadowed now. In short, make a mod where we give javs friendly fire to make them more risk-reward : 1-more a skirmishing force, ie before the frontlines mee. 2- making them a dedicated flanking force since the probability of hitting your guys should be reduced if you flank the enemy, and see how it turns out. I would also make archer a ranged unit counter but as of now, units will only attack their closest target unless told otherwise this is a mute point.2 points

@fmmaksThanks for the report. Apparently this will be corrected in the next release.2 points

Minecraft redstone mechanics allow for digital circuits. You can build all logic gates and IIRC all kinds of flip-flops. Theoretically, you could build a CPU and a GPU that can play Minecraft within Minecraft. Maybe at 1 or so frame per day. Also, might need to remove the world border, but its possible on paper. I have personally built a 4-bit ALU in game. This would be the calculator Vladislav mentioned. This is already too much analysis for a block game.2 points

Hi! I'm Daniel, current president of the student association of GUL UC3M (gul.es, sorry, we don't have an english version) an association focused on the promotion of open-source software. TL;DR: We are going to organise a videogame open-source event in late April (jamon.gul.es) and we would love to have someone talking and sharing about 0 A.D. - Long version In 2018 we organised a game-jam called GUL Jamón (jamon.gul.es/2018) with only open-source software. It was only not a game-jam but also a week of training in Pygame and Godot. The event was quite a success and we want to repeat this year but given it a little twist focusing on talks rather than a game-jam due to the pandemic. This new edition will be called "GUL Jamón - Charleta Edition" which will be something like "GUL Jamón - Small Talk Edition". This edition is planned to be on 19-21 of April, between 15:00-19:00 (GMT+1). It will be completely online and free for everyone. I am creating this post to look for someone willing to participate in the event, and give a talk/workshop about 0 A.D. Thanks for your time! PS: Ideally I would love if the speaker know spanish because we try to promote all our content in spanish, as in english there is resources for almost everything but not in spanish. However it won't be an impediment because we will be in an university environment so everyone should know english.1 point

That sounds much more interesting and meaningful than a death aura which sounds straight out of a fantasy game.1 point

I'm not a 100% sure, but comparing it to fireworks.xml, which I guess should look close to what you want to achieve, it looks like veloxity.y is actual the vertical direction while x & z are the horizontal directions. So I would suggest trying a similar/ the same small (possibly negative) value for x & z and a higher (positive) value for y. nice hills btw1 point

Good point. Sometimes, the power of particular units is hidden by trends in gameplay. Before fall 2021 few players did "merc rushes" with cav or inf and at the same time there were lots of complaints about consular bodyguard. I think after all the merc-cav proliferation, Romans are less able than ever to get their champions because they need to fight earlier in defense or offense because of extra p2 activity that is caused by mercenary attacks. I would argue that consular bodyguard are still OP (too much armor), its just we don't see them very often due to mercs. I am not saying that merc rushes should not exist (they are very exciting/fun), just that it obscures other balance issues.1 point

Minecraft has a few things going for it. When there is time for it, for example the holidays, I like to start basic survival worlds with my bro, and I find it much more relaxing than other games.1 point

Depends entirely on your PC and what you are doing. Try to detonate 1000 TNT or farm 300 sheeps Not in singleplayer mode. But multiplayer servers might, although they have very good protection against DDOS. Yes. It does. A 1.18 has been released and new cave mechanics have been introduced. Also new mobs and blocks are added to the game all the time. 1.18.1 looks very different to 1.3.1 when I first started playing I don't know what a signal decoder is. The most complicated things I have done are: Iron farm Redstone-powered farms: sugar cane, melon, etc Railways with fully automatic stations Auto-smelter Villager trading machine Mob drop farm Having played minecraft for so many years, I have never defeated the ender dragon in survival mode, not even once! Yeah I am still cosmic nub at minecraft1 point

It means you have never tried to make a signal decoder or a simple calculator with red stone1 point
