It would have been quite risky to heavily alter civ set colour pallette. Specially between old-school "purists" gamers, since this is an original Ensemble Studios designed civ. Civs that were later added on by Forgotten Empires on the expansions (like the slavic architecture and the mediterranean/italian set) had a very good redesign. Also hard to make a good balance between very coloured buildings (like the aztecs had) and playercolor readability. This is for gameplay readability too. That's also why same units between different civs look the same. 35 civs with different looking units (even with the same stats between them) would be entirely impossible to distinguish during gameplay for unit countering-decision making.6 points

Hey @Enrique glad to see a fellow artist come back after long time no see, also glad for being able to meet you and if its possibly work with the responsable of the unit update but also the WIP cavalry update wich worked as a base for the end result we have today in alpha 24 progress. Saddly i'm still busy with university test but at least got a temporary fix for the laptop charger, a fixed wire in the meantime (Original charger wasn't possible to repair). Hope you stay for a while.3 points

Ah yes that's my bad, I did a simple change to the diff this morning that should have been completely straightforward, and I botched it and didn't re-test... Will be fixed tonight.2 points

Not to be contrarian but I don't think unit recognition is why they don't make each civs units unique. I think it's because of texture size. Readability might be an issue, true, because of the mosh pit combat.2 points

Personally I would like to see both heavy and light snow, for different maps, some maps might have the heavy one to simulate like a blizzard and others light ones for normal snow imo.2 points

Minor tweaks: structures can no longer attack structures outposts no longer have attack or vision of there own; instead, outposts has aura which improves garrisoned unit; one unit can be garrisoned on it, instead of inside; can be killed indepently from outpost (cf. walls); ungarrisoned outpost: garrisoned outpost:2 points

It would be cool to have a "helper" medallion similar to the Total War games. It would pop up and assist you by default the first time you ran a non-tutorial map. You could click X and turn it off if you want. Initially it wouldn't need any voice acting, just some text and UI elements.1 point

Yes, but what might be done in the future is irrelevant. The current specific names ought to be based on the current wonders. How about the following? athen: temple of Athena Parthenos mace: temple of Olympian Zeus ptol: temple of Apollo sele: temple of Pythian Apollo spart:temple of Artemis Orthia Only if you want to; it's a suggestion, not an obligation; ergasterion “workshop” isn't perfect but does work. As for synergeion poliorkias, πολῐορκία means “siege of a city”, but συνέργειον = συνέργιον = συνεργᾰσία means “company or guild of fellow workmen” or “a place where many slaves are lodged, a workers' barracks”; thus not exactly what you mean, probably. Toxobolia is not an option, because the practice range is not limited to archery only; javelineers and slingers are trained there as well; and because τοξοβόλια is unattested. Where did you find it? No modern Greek, I hope? Hear are some terms you could consider: τό ἐμπόριον emporion: trading-station, also commercial port ὁ λῐμήν limēn: harbour ὁ λῐμήν κλειστός limēn kleistos: walled harbour τό ναυπεγεῖον naupegeion: shipyard τό ναυπέγιον naupegion: shipbuilder's yard, dockyard τό νεώριον neōrion: dockyard nāvālia in Latin ὁ νεώσοικος neōsoikos: dock, shipshed, slip, boathouse ὁ ὅρμος hormos: mooring place, dock, anchorage ἡ σκευοθήκη skeuothēkē: chest for all kinds of σκευή [equipment]; arsenal; shed for storing sails, masts, oars, etc.1 point

Here's the cavalry animations... I know it is quite late, but better than nothing: https://a.uguu.se/IP7Ov5YBmDhO_cavalryanimations.rar (seems it expires in 24h), I could upload somewhere else. Also attaching a .blendfile with a setup to record cavalry (and unit) deaths using ragdolls, in case you want to investigate further into simulation (can be recorded in bones animation). avalry ragdoll.rar cheers! Standard food company bananas? Or Wild Bananas? After reading a little, 6 articles and a wikipedia article about the species, the oldest one is not the wild one I presented, but it is the original one, the one we are looking for is a sub species that is part of the other branch of old bananas and the one that is from India I leave it in the quotation. It would be necessary to look for the genetic origin and appearance, if there is one. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/224898897_Plantain_or_edible_banana_Musa_x_paradisica_var_sapiemtum_some_lesser_known_folk_uses_in_India1 point

Please reread earlier posts in this thread to avoid missing relevant points. τό στρατέγιον means “general's tent”, which is why I recommended ἡ στρατοπεδεία, ἡ στρατοπέδευσις, or ἡ στρατόπεδον “encampment” instead for the barracks using ἀγορά for the civic centre off all Greek factions for consistency and reserving βᾰσίλειον for a future palace structure is sensible. elephant stable with τῶν ἐλεφᾰ́ντων, as discussed earlier the practice range is not limited to archery exclusively, slingers and javelineers are trained there too, therefore we probably should use ψῑλοί “light troops” (i.e. ranged infantry) instead, e.g. ἡ στρατοπεδεία τῶν ψῑλῶν towers could be differentiated with the use of (attested) diminutives: wall tower: ὁ πύργος defence tower: τό πυργίον small tower: τό πυργίδιον as for the workshop, ὁ μηχᾰνητής “siege engineer” is a person/unit, therefore inappropiate for a place/structure; unless we can find a better alternative, I strongly recommend to stick with τό ἐργαστήριον “workshop” maybe we should try looking into a different direction. τό κέστρειον is probably a bit obscure, though Actually it could be done once for all Greek factions; updated earlier post:1 point

Siege workshops should be implemented, both Nookrium and Raptor were wondering where to train siege weapons.1 point

Watching Nookrium halfway at the moment. What I noticed so far Lack of harvest animation for the pig (Stream viewer jokingly said that it was being milked lol, and that was a sustainable way of having bacons, really laughed at this one) A particular cattle entity at Butana Steppes which also lacked animation. The guy failed to notice the lack in population point during one of his matches. Stream viewers are very interested on the game based on how they saw him play it. He zooms a lot and is mostly fascinated by the graphics, he praised it how each faction had different structure sets and was really moved the the appearance of the buildings. Interesting though that he looked at the mod selection for a first game cover. He somewhat wanted more available information about the mods in the mod selection area, other than the mod summary description. He downloaded the community maps mod ad mod.io1 point

Indeed, and stone and metal mines look too similar. He also never figured out what batch training was.1 point

Totally in favor of this alien thing. Nice work Lion. Another idea that could be cool: A modern Roman. There are several concepts like this on the web.1 point
