I am motivated to develop an AI player which actually learns by playing with human players. I need a basis for comparison. This raises 2 questions: 1. What is the current rating of Petra? 2. Is it possible to create an AI which can play in the multiplayer lobby? I understand that modding is possible but then the mod-AI will be just another one whose performance cannot be quantified.4 points

Yeah, maybe one day we will have navmeshes when @wraitii is finished with the pathfinder, so we can have bridges, and we can also reuse the celt sloped walls2 points

Your old friend is busy. Please have patience. In the meantime, you can test the proposed fix here: https://code.wildfiregames.com/D1919. If it works, then we can include it. Edit: At 10:57 UTC today, the patch was committed. Your problem should now be fixed. Don't forget to update your local copy.2 points

Today, I tested the latest version of SVN22302. When I started the game, there was a problem message on the main interface of the game: ‘WARNING: SDL_Set Windows Gamma Ramp failed.’ BTW: When I rotated the camera, I found the red box, which had never appeared before. The map I used was the Mediterranean coast.1 point

@Stan`Looks beautiful. Sad thing is, with so much detail it's clearly visible that there are no ways of accessing the walls and towers...1 point

The metadata.json contains a record of all scores (and kills etc.) for about every 30 seconds of the game. So no need to rerun the replay.1 point

The change is now live in our code repository. To use, simply add the appropriate argument: ./update-workspaces.sh --prefer-local-libs Then run make as usual. You will also need a file in /etc/ld.so.d.conf with the contents /usr/local/lib so that the runtime linker can locate the local libraries. (If you're compiling and using local libs on a regular basis, there may already be such a file present.) The build instructions on the wiki have also been updated.1 point

Scythians, Persians, and other Iranian peoples were well known for wearing trousers: Most of their units already have trousers, but some don't, so it would be great if that can be changed for the following: units/athenians/infantry_archer_c.xml (Scythian archer) units/persians/cavalry_swordsman_b.xml (Hyrcanian cavalry) units/persians/fisherman.xml units/persians/infantry_archer_b.xml (Sogdian archer) units/seleucids/cavalry_archer_b.xml (Dahae horse archer) (pers_infantry_javelinist_b and *_a don't have trousers either, but that's fine, because those are Anatolians Lydians.)1 point

DDOS attacks typically work on the transport layer, not the application layer. We had this before (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Service_Discovery_Protocol#DDoS_attack). Edit: One can make them for applications too, but why go to that length if the attacker can use prewritten scripts. Secondly the attacker needs to find many vulnerable machines running that to perform the DDOS attack, consumer-end routers are most available, but can't really perform enet/pyrogenesis connection attempts and xmpp doesn't sound widely supported by routers and probably not exposed to significant DDOS leverage)1 point

Hey gameboy, that's related to me merging D359 yesterday. You can fix it by de-activating fancy effects as it turns out I can reproduce this (didn't notice yesterday, unluckily). Edit - I'm interested in other people reporting SQL/GL error, by the way, as testing these shaders things is annoying at best.1 point

@Lion.Kanzen please, can you try to not "triple post" and tag the videos under spoilers? I said that without acrimony. That would help to follow the debate, thx If we talk about characterization of the unit, slingers could have less HP and less range (although some slingers were better regarding reach than some archers) because as you said, they need to be in a wide formation, thus fewer ranks could shoot, and also would be killed easily by melee charges. But if we speak about realism, they should punch more than arrows. But my main concern should be that the 3 roles should be differentiated and used.1 point

I'll ping @Hannibal_Barca he'll probably want your commands.txt file for that match, you can find it in your 0ad folder (I've also had issues with people in wonder matches, it's just obnoxious)1 point
