Yeah, the AI is stupid. It just goes by geographical distance, not the distance needed to walk. Your units will do the same, so better have an eye on them.

Alternatively saving profiles could be integrated in the game, so where you pick your settings you would have the possibility to create, save & load profiles.

I suggest looking into a replay so you can see what your enemy has and does and no guesswork is required.

One source of resources I forgot is loot. Killed units give a bit of loot anyway, but if for example you send all your stone gatherers to fight and don't let them drop off what they carry that stone will go to your enemy.

Hi @damale88, welcome to the forums. Trade, as @Lion.Kanzen said, can contribute to it, but also starting resources. In this case I think the collected treasures played a big role: if those are 300 each, 10 treasures would mean 3,000 additional res. I think res trickles currently are not counted as collected but that will change with the next release.

What I didn't really appreciate was the mod team killing political discussions, where no other mod action was required and I wasn't aware of any breach of TOS; they quietly killed one of my threads without giving any explanation whatsoever.

Sometimes they are completely off; take the first answer for example, it's just completely wrong. Healers can't heal from inside a building. The second part isn't much better because units don't always heal in buildings. LLMs can produce reasonably sounding sentences but they don't know sheet. Sometimes the results are correct, sometimes muddled, sometimes plain wrong and even fatal.
