Could we have a Random Random Random maps mode? Because when I play Random Random maps a lot of maps won't come up.
-
Certainly I could test maps with A27 RC1. What does this mod actually do? Change placement? Replace the other map versions? Only in regard to placement? And most of them will be in Random maps? What are rmgen1/2?

I haven't played the new migration yet, didn't even know there was such a thing. :/ Seems the new version fits my usual play-style better, but I don't really have an opinion.

A stance button for production buildings would be nice. @krt0143 Do you know about rally points? With selected production building(s) right click on a point/res/building and units will go there (+CTRL to garrison inside production building). I'm ok with Gaia being a wildcard, and I think hunting is aggression towards Gaia. So I don't know if it would be possible to make it neutral with an AI player and that AI player still be able to hunt.

??? An engine is the foundation of any game. The better the engine, the better the player-experience. (Not that a good engine would be the only thing a good game requires, ofc.) I heard a couple of days ago (Yong Yea) that they're already back-paddling on this because of the backlash, so I just see how it turns out. It immediately reminded me of the Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast/D&D thing.

Is 0ad going to die?
Gurken Khan replied to king reza the great's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Mmm. You can set the difficulty level and the behavior for every AI player; I think that's enough options for players who think their AI opponents are too unwieldy. -
I'd be fine with kennels as an abstraction; there's no historical basis for CCs either.

Any way to make Gaia neutral towards specific player(s)?
Gurken Khan replied to krt0143's topic in Game Modification
Placement. I don't know what exactly you have in mind, and I assume by AI you mean the AI players. Ngorongoro has plenty of hostile wildlife, and while the AI players will clean up their territory and what they encounter on excursions, I mainly have to deal with it myself. -
There's no dog houses as of now, and "later" you can heal them with your healers. Let them go into their production building (stable) as any other unit; this will also heal them if you have researched the temple perks. btw: do they heal when idle and have researched that at the temple? AND let them into the CC.

Going into CC and adding arrows are two different things; women for example don't add arrows when their inside a CC. And at least worker eles can go into the CC (when they're not stuck on the corner of it); so doesn't really make sense why a dog should not.

Game Balance: Battering Rams, the 0 A.D. tanks?...
Gurken Khan replied to krt0143's topic in Gameplay Discussion
Armored Personnel Carrier. Hide your precious swordsmen inside, if enemy rams try to stop yours pop out, cut'em up & on ya go. -
When my CC was attacked and I realized I couldn't garrison my dog I made it run away; since then they're healers pets. On "Defensive" so they won't run off senselessly, but that also means they're not even attacking enemies in sight... I don't use throw-away units and go for zero losses and I extent that to my dogs.

I always thought it was a deliberate decision. (Not that I wouldn't want to let my doggos inside...) @Freagarach?

howto build new house from behind a house wall

A while back I was densely packed houses with two Maurya women and one could reach through the gap and build and the other went idle. -
Do Carthaginian docks come with a free quinquereme?
Gurken Khan replied to krt0143's topic in Gameplay Discussion
Yeah, the "center of a thing" thing can lead to awkward consequences; like when your women can't see the building they're working on! (But if I'm not mistaken the Colosseum has been fixed, I should check some time.) But I strongly suspect having the loading/unloading point smack in the middle will lead to other problems. -
Help! How do you teach your workers to build new structures?
Gurken Khan replied to krt0143's topic in Game Modification
That means laying the foundation? I occasionally helped my ally building a structure, is that still possible with all buildings? -

Maybe your antivir is preventing 0ad from writing in that folder. You could try setting an exception. -

Gurken Khan replied to krt0143's topic in Gameplay Discussion
You can freely watch any place and you can choose to follow a certain player. You can't jump to time marks, but if you watch the replay in ridiculous speed until you come close to the desired point it won't take too long. -

Gurken Khan replied to krt0143's topic in Gameplay Discussion
While I second your suggestion, your guess wouldn't explain why the dock was constructed so fast or why there suddenly was that ship; even for quick in 'n' out it would have needed to be around. -
Maybe you should use search pattern delta two. (joke) Do you know "attack move"? It's CTRL+Q+right click; it makes your units attack enemies they encounter on the way. That way you don't have to watch them the whole time. I don't think I've spent more than two real minutes with that, on turtle speed. I try to exterminate thoroughly and you kinda get an idea where those women might be (either a remote forest or a place where they can build a port as a last resort). Let me tell you a story from before the war when you had to hunt down orphaned fishing boats...

The AI always knows where you are/has a fully revealed map (cheater). Maybe it has blocked itself with a building.
