Introducing the Official community mod for Alpha 26
Gurken Khan replied to wraitii's topic in Gameplay Discussion
I like the idea of giving sister civs sister bonuses. For me the Briton bonus always comes into play but it's not a big deal; for ten healers it's worth 250 res. It would feel like an upgrade to the brit bonus and gaul pretty much staying the same (doubling effect, halving affected tecs). I don't know if it's less generic and would actually affect gameplay. I guess you're proposing it here so it will be tested before going into vanilla? What I really don't appreciate is civ specific bonuses; if I don't have access to eles or mercs those bonuses are worthless. [I usually don't make eles or siege (unless I have two or more iber enemies), so those bonuses are usually worthless for me, but that might be a personal problem.] -

@Genava55 I heard about it yesterday on Deutschlandfunk and also meant to post about it. What I found interesting is A: that finds are skewed because flintstone arrowheads can't be found with metal detectors. And B: they figured from the arrowheads that the group from the south attacked at a bridge, were repelled, fled downstream where they were shot down with northern arrows. Here's the Antiquity article: https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/antiquity/article/warriors-from-the-south-arrowheads-from-the-tollense-valley-and-central-europe/C4F6ECB759833BFD337D37ADAE564C4B#article -
Yup, that was it.

If someone is looking over the loading screen tips: I just read one saying most champions are built in the fortress; which is not the case anymore...

Do newbs understand that terminology?

@alre I like that you cross-checked it. But I'm not sure if we can discern from the written Latin how ironic it was meant. When I think of all the dongs on Hadrian's wall or the graffiti in Pompeii I get the feeling they were a pretty mischievous bunch. (Reading up on the dongs they supposedly were meant to ward off bad luck...) -
I was in this discussion and when I saw the pic I went "huh?". I think the text should be even more detailed than what you wrote, e.g. not only including "right" but also left center and left. I don't find it ideal that the rally point is not visible on the ele.

I second this. Every command should give audio feedback. (Bothers me every time I make my healers attack move and they don't even say "yes".) Even if there were audio clutter I prefer it over no audio feedback. In the vids you posted earlier today the rally point and the arrows seem to work independently of each other? I think the sound you selected for the arrows is good, but i also would like a "plonk" or thud for the rally point; maybe if there's nothing to target at the point not both sounds have to be played.

Maybe using TOR would work, I use it to circumvent geoblocking; the slower speed shouldn't matter for registering.

For now I can only go by the sources: an official government body and the Smithsonian. But the find kinda looks too good to be real... -

Eventually, clicking on "Development" will not lead to trac? And the "future" redirections will go? (I don't know exactly how they're supposed to work, but for example trying to use it from /log/ps results in an error message.) -

The other day I had the tip shown that higher ranked units fight better; best to my knowledge that's not the case anymore, they have more health and are better at capturing now. Maybe that could be rewritten. -
I find berries integrated in mineral deposits annoying. Two women finally found an access point while the third stands around uselessly. In my experience that also leads to traffic congestion where the gatherers loaded up can't back off because others are pushing from behind trying to get to that resource. Micro I could do well without. Edit: It got even more annoying as the workers always "lost" those berries, turning to others instead. Reminds me of Bugthesda level physics. savegame-1369.0adsave

Well, the opportunities for archeological sites (and maybe exhibitions) are pretty unique, some structural reinforcement here, maybe some makeup there... Apart from propping up dinosaur skeletons I can't think of any field where you can make your findings mass compatible in a comparable way. Glory to our capitalist system! Apart from paywalls and copyrights and the likes sites like Pompeii and Göbekli Tepe also have entrance fees and shops... Would be much harder to cash in on the lifecycle of the fruit fly or something like that.
