@HMS-Surprise Would it possible for you guys to run the svn version of the game ? This would provide us with accurate feedback and recent commands.txt @wraitii is working on the pathfinder, and will be needing real life samples to make sure nothing get unintentionally broken

Save Nonvisual Game Replay
Stan` replied to irishninja's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
I guess it's because we do not serialise AI commands You could use this patch https://code.wildfiregames.com/D153 You could also finish it it following Itms comments If your changes are good we will try to get them in our engine -
@Nescio there was Could probably use some images and before it is added to the wiki. As for the size, I think I added + 1 unit (4 sub units) to every dimension to make sure the building would not overlap on the delimitators. I'm a bit worried the big foundations come out weird with the props, but I haven't finished even one yet so it' s probably just me. As for the wonders structures themselves, I should finish my building but it will look too much like the one Sundiata is making to replace the temple. For the britons though, we have the uffington horse, but I don't feel like it's a real wonder.

@feneur Could you post it on twitter and facebook ? Something along the lines of: "We are glad to announce 0 A.D. was recently chosen as an experimentation ground for Intel® VTune™ Amplifier with the goal of finding potential bottlenecks in the game's code, you can find the detailed analysis here." Maybe on twitter @intel with a few hashtags on twitter #freesoftware #opensource #SoftwareTesting

Are there balancing changes planned for A24?

Officially → https://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?/staff/ Now I'd say around 14 though, some people are only here one week out of two, or for single reviews. Some are also working on things that are not directly related to the game, like Implodedok. Thanks. Well as I said earlier, borg is working on his mod, and I have high hopes of getting it in Sure, hence why you put them in two different categories. -

I haven't seen anything they've done so I can't assume anything, I don't know how much time they have on their hands so I can't tell much about that either. I don't know if they still use the same review process they helped put in place, or maybe they just trust each other and commit stuff. I don't have a single metric on their project, so it's really conjectures for my part at this point. I will also assume they don't have much issues handling external contributions And each one does, in their own respect on their own areas. If three people can know 150 000 lines of code, that's really good for them Well I'm still working on it, and so are the other artists, so I would assume you mean something else, though I might be wrong. -

Ah nice, maybe it should be on the first page. -

I totally agree with that. However it's sometimes get confusing for contributors because they don't know whom to follow. I'm all for getting more people engaged, but we don't have that many people on the line do we ? -

Is it ? Is it good to have another 1-year hiatus because people are analyzing code ? I mean in the end wouldn't just people forget ? I can't remember everything I coded in the past 5 years. I couldn't find a wiki page for reviews, maybe we should create one. -

@(-_-) While it seems really logical, it requires more people than we currently have, and more activity than all team members can possibly give. Where are we supposed to find such people ? By checkmark you mean adding inlines, like what I usually do because I don't know the code enough ? -

Of course, but isn't that the purpose of the mod ? Also given the time span between release, it would mean that balancing could potentially be broken for six months without anyone noticing. At the time temple was supposed to be in charge of balancing, so it checks out I haven't seen him since the GDPR Hiatus. Well the lack of reviews is directly responsible for the lack of commits. -

So yes, I guess the problem lies with the responsibility of committing them. I could commit them right away, but then I would be responsible for fixing it if it broke the game. I would also take every criticism personally (I shouldn't but that's what I do) So the idea behind the design document is to be able to say, this document defines what the game should be, not what I (personally) want, nor what 20 persons on the forum think is good. I totally understand you point though. You make a valid request, and it makes no sense that it is not being accepted.
