  4. I announce that the tournament will start next week! It will use a weekly schedule, and have a BO1 format. I did not decide yet if it will use seeded or random brackets as I did not gather enough opinions. Feel free to give your opinion if you registered! Registrations are still open, and will be until Sunday 9 October 20:00 UTC, and I will announce the brackets before Sunday 22:00 UTC. Once they are announced, you will know who is your opponent, and you will have 1 week to play your match. I strongly encourage you to use the forum private message feature to schedule your match. If you meet your opponent in lobby, you can of course play your match on the spot, but please do not count on it! This is not guaranteed to happen. Even if you registered, it is not guarranteed you will get to play the tournament. It depends of if the number of players registered fit well. Here is how I intend to complete the brackets: There will be a Gold Bracket that will contain up to 8 players. If more than 8 players registered, then having a Silver Bracket is a likely possibility. If we have around 16 players registered, then there will be a 8-player Silver Bracket for sure. If we have 12 players registered overall, then I will message the 4 players that didn't make it to the Gold if they are interested in playing a 4-player mini bracket. If you missed the registration deadline, do not forget that I intend to organize more tournaments like this if it goes well. We have some merge requests: Nerf heroes Iphicrates and Ptolemy Move tier 2 blacksmith technologies to Town Phase Rebalance healers by making them cheaper I would like some more opinion before potentially merging these, though they all seem like good examples of things we could do in the mod. Edit: Also, just as a reminder, anything that is merged can also be removed, the idea is to try some things out as well.

  7. As a deep music lover, and a musician, I can say that today there's not a more uncomfortable place to sit than the place reserved to whom who truly appreciates music. Can you see yourselves spending your life listening to thousands of albums, just to argue to a random dude about the fact that "a 13 minutes song is unlistenable lmao"? Well, I wouldn't like to. But that's my life. It's not something new to say that art has become a product of commerce under the section 'entertainment' over the last century, but the impact that this had on the various fields is something more ignored. While literature and movies (that with music are the 3 most popular forms of art by far) still conserve some respect by their users, music has going down in a hole of disrespect and violence. Before I speak about how this disrespect is practiced by the nowadays typical listener and producer's behaviours, I would like to say why in my opinion music became the most disrespected form of art. We will all agree saying that every form of art needs a certain amount of attention to be understood and appreciated: if you want to evaluate the beauty of the production of an artist, you forcibly have to experience it. Naturally, every art has a different mode of fruition: A movie, asks you to stay silent on your chair and watch it. A book, asks you to stay silent on your chair and read it. A song, asks you to stay silent on your chair and listen to it @#$%ing start dancing eheh I want to have fun xdxd Films and books require a certain and obligatory amount of attention given by their mode of use. It doesn't matter how much you lousy and silly director want to make a silly and lousy work to sell more tickets: people will still have to find a reason to overcome their laziness, sit and watch it silently for X amount of time. It doesn't matter how much you silly and embarassing writer want to write a silly and embarassing book to sell more copies: people will still have to find a reason to overcome their laziness, sit and concentrate on your words. That's why movies are more popular than books: less efforts needed in appreciating them. And that's why dumb people that don't care about art are forced to admit they are ignorant about them: they don't want to spend SO MUCH time and energy > they don't watch movies or read on a daily basis > they have no reason to pretend they know something about it. And there's no way to really cheat, there's no way to watch a movie without watching it or to read a book without reading it. But music is so kind! If you want to, you can listen to music even when you are doing your work. You can listen to music at the supermarket, at the gym, in the hospital, in the elevator, every@#$%ingwhere you want to. It just requires your EARS, while your eyes and your hands are free to do whatever you want. While your mind is free to pay attention to something else. So yeah, here we are: all the people in the world spend most of their life hearing music everywhere and all the time. That makes music easy to sell, easy to enjoy, the general required attention is near 0, so you can literally sell the same prototype-song over and over and no one will even realize. And the real tragedy: the average casual listener will think he loves music, will think he's really passionate about music, he literally listens to so much genres. More delusional than a seventeen y.o. communist. In reality, he just listens all day long to entertainment music. The same song, over and over again: different title, different words, 80-120 bpm, 4/4 time signature. He's just the final part of the chain of a big sociological research investment, designed to give him exactly what he wants and what he already likes. Guys, I beg you to break the circle: stop listening to music while you do something else. If you truly appreciate that artist, respect him and listen to what he wants to say to you. You would be surprised that maybe he doesn't really have nothing to say at all, and you wasted so much time with a moron. And that's exactly what you just did reading this. Would be better to avoid to commit the same mistake again, uh?

  10. What? No. Please avoid posting statements that you haven't verified. This post explains how to see the list of changes in the community-mod. There are no commits to the "main" or "signed" branch related to the Hero Garrison bug. There aren't even any merge requests related to it. Yes, Stan said that this bug will be fixed in the community-mod, but that is a statement about the future, not the present.

  12. Thanks for the instructions but it looks like the community-mod 0.26.1 has resolved this issue. Settings had changed (hero to conquest) since 0.26.1 had been installed.

  13. @LetswaveaBook I think since the first series of upgrades are so cheap, people get them on the way to p3 anyway. So a player who gets them for a p2 fight will only have a small window to use that advantage. I think adding 2-tier blacksmith upgrades in p2 will allow the player who postpones p3 to get a bigger military advantage in p2 that wont be overshadowed by the enemy clicking p3 faster along with 1-tier upgrades. If players dislike the change by and large, we can just pull it in the next update of the mod. At least we will finally have a little feedback.

  17. if Athen hero nerferd givechange existing useless ones too.. This is blind action, other civs having all 3 herous very OP.... Athens does need also boosting these heroes.. the only problem players is having is "bad strategy" if they would target this hero Athens are already loser for rest of the game I simply dont agree with such change. or maybe make healers cheaper only for Athens like 150 food :---) to try protect hero I already noticed few players having mods to target hero .... maybe you should put this as feature too.. and maybe make hero never stay in building to get eco/war bonuses... so if hero in building he would lose this abilities (expect giving capture protection)...

  19. As Stan said, the idea is that you use gitlab directly. Just make a Merge Request, you can do this online via the web editor or using git or using the gitlab app (I think). As for 'What standards are used to determine if a mod is suitable?', the idea is that the community will self-manage, but so far only the 0 A.D. teams are maintainers so we would merge things. Ideally people will react to changes here or on gitlab directly. At the moment, I'll probably merge simple changes that are widely agreed upon, as for A27 essentially.

  20. Oh, yeah I get that when I just run ActorEditor normally. So I haven't tried to do anything about it with the appimage. Thanks for confirming the fix @hyperion. I'm merging the PR to trunk, which means a new release will show up soon. But you don't need it if you have the artifact. The only difference will be the filename.

  21. I played many in previous Alphas and now I have time to play again. I have found that there are no moderators and that some pro players are quite toxic. It seems to me a more serious problem than smurf accounts and other bad practices that are easier to control. So, in addition to what administrators can do, I've considered using these simple rules in the games I host. Sorry if they are somewhat poorly written because I use an automatic translator. I like the rules that Norse Harold puts into his games. I think they are good for creating a friendly and fun culture around the game, however I think it is possible to simplify them to make them more effective and focused on the worst current problems: the toxic behaviors of some pro players.   25. This is the same error I am seeing. For me, it occurs after selecting "Single-Player" and "Matches". Previously, it occurred straight after selecting the same combination. 0 A.D. was installed from Flatpak (flathub) using Gnome Software. I then uninstalled and re-installed the RPM version (a25) which plays without any issues. After clearing out the remains of the Flatpak, I tried again (re-installed) and managed to play 1 game yesterday (as the Huns ). Just tried 0 A.D. now and got the same screen after select "Single-Player" and "Matches" again. I'm using a similar setup as valdiusryb, myself against the AI (x3) with no mods installed. Like yesterday, if you close 0 A.D., logoff or restart computer, this error appears straight away. The error message doesn't appear for long and scrolls off the screen quickly.

Regarding the game, my best guess is if players joining the lobby the all accept agreements to be able to join each other or the way game is designed. If you are accusing me of some wrongdoing and misusing your personal data, kindly proceed by laws you mentioning. I'm not aware of any, and provided smurfs list is only best effort guesstimate and reporting from other observers, as far as I know there is no any privacy concerns. I claim I don't know your identity, your real name, your address As I don't expose my players name I can admit I could be able join your hosted game and my computer possibly needed some networking details to perform that. It this breaking of GDPR? Anyway to confirm this please provide me your player nickname to review it, In my mind are these players accounts I joined in non-specific time.
