Yeah! when im not blocked i can make them quickly, when i have mental block i can't even make a cube. And the new material i developed when baking the SCAR/FN-FAl/G36 helped a lot with most of the AO problems in helmets.2 points

Italiots. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=247623.30 There are other references around VI-V BC for Etruscans.2 points

Only will have it like we did with milleniumad coifs. not going to be implemented if it affects performance. Same with greaves, only for historical accuracy if someone will use it (Weird we didn't have that prop point before like we have with shoulderpads prop points).2 points

Every game is recorded by default for how to use the replays have a look at the wiki though which you can find under Development tab at the top of the page the replay files (cmd.txt) are just text file so they don't take up much memory.BTW it's also the file you post as evidence of cheating Enjoy the Choice1 point

Wanna learn fast? just get some replays of best players of this game and copy them. With time u will understand why they do those stuff, u can extrapolate this tip for whole contexts u can possibly think. I can put u my example in this game: I was a player without any knowledge in rts games, first day i came here i went to borgs game and got some replays of his games. Then i spent quite time asking everything. Surprise.. after 2-3 days since i started playing 0ad i was 1500.1 point

The first and easiest bit of advice is to watch your replays, see where things went wrong, and think of just one or two things you can do differently next time. You can work on something different after each replay you watch- no need to tackle everything at once.1 point

I've been playing for a couple few months now and am super impressed at all of the work people have put into this game with no direct benefit to themselves. You're all heroes. I've also noticed a lot of negativity in this forum. A lot of it is from people who don't seem to understand that the people developing this game are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts. Obviously there are some things deserving of constructive criticism but my impression is that the team seems to be aware of and working on the biggest problems. I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where we talk about the things in this game that we most appreciate. I'll go first 1. I love the territory root concept and the ability to capture or destroy a building. It makes the strategy in the game much more complex and gives many options for styles of play. 2. I love the vegetation artwork. I'm a botanist by training and am impressed with accuracy! Shout out to @LordGood though I know there are others involved in this. 3. The creativity of the modders and the willingness of the vanilla team to consider taking good things from the mods is really impressive and requires that people not get hung up with their own ego's Keep up the good work y'all, ignore the haters. Looking forward to seeing where this project ends up!1 point

Aren't there such helmets already? E.g. `art/actors/props/units/heads/thracian_mercenary.xml`? By the way, is there any particular reason why so many (most?) helmet files are located under heads/ rather than helmets/?1 point

Haven't done the armor, the red zone is the same bodie mesh just i use it for know wich zone is wich.1 point

If we will proceed to this as a mod, I would prefer that we continue on the whole armor plan instead of only working on shoulder pads. @wowgetoffyourcellphone Are the current layout of the linothorax which I committed a good basis for the linothorax mesh to follow if ever one will be created?1 point

this is going to make the draw call situation worse than it already is ...1 point

We are having blackouts again. I'll tweak it. Yes i will make the torso too @Nescio this is just experiment with bodie parts and armor pieces, maybe could end being usefull for campaing heroes or something like that. Just like capes works for some units, that would be the idea of the shoulderpads, add more detail to elite units while leaving basic with their low details.1 point

@wowgetoffyourcellphone is right, maybe make the bottom part more of a square than rectangular, and make the width like 25% less that the upper part. Also, you are going to make the torso armor right?1 point

The Thracian faction for Terra Magna is so much blessed with art assets.1 point

@ethanray94, you should be able to see and replay the replay in game using multiplayer -> replays If you want to post any replay in the future, based on your system they all are located here: Windows Vista and newer C:\Users\{username}\Documents\My Games\0ad\ Windows xp / 2000 C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\My Documents\My Games\0ad\ Linux ~/.local/share/0ad/ If I messed up some path take a look here https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths Replays will be in folders marked based on year - moth - day and number of game you played that day1 point

I've used it when contributing to a few projects, and it seems pretty good. Our Evil Twin uses it. I wonder if it would duplicate most of what we have on Phabricator though? It seems overkill to have both, unless we only use gitlab as a git server (not sure what the advantage of that is).1 point

This illustrates the smoothing representation well I guess. Since the real territory of all those towers is linked for the blue player (blue and red are enemies), the blue circles shouldn't exist probably I guess and the red lines shouldn't "isolate" somehow the territory of each tower. But what strikes me in this case is that one player territory isn't the "negative" of the other player territory, in the sense that everything that doesn't belong to blue should belong to red. Maybe when drawing the line, this constraint should be somehow imposed...1 point

It seems we both have something to look forward to then (I art, you a mod). Certainly not; that's the whole idea of modifying, isn't it? I appreciate any help I can get, but don't expect anything to be presented on a silver plate.1 point

Nice map! I'd just ensure that the Alps are passable by elephants, otherwise @Hannibal_Barca probably wouldn't want to play.1 point
