Stan`
I've been trying to unify the interface icons for units a bit with the help of @Lion.Kanzen here is what I got so far: You can try those mods: shield-icons.zip white_icons.zip yellow_icons.zip Or look at the SVG in full quality shield-icons-svg.zip white-icons-svg.zip yellow-icons-svg.zip 9
sphyrth
I'm torn between 1 (Good Contrast) and 3 (Good Minimalism). Either step is great for a modern polish.
soloooy0
i like step 1, what is the last icon for? keep your distance?
Stan`
Thats the icon to quickly go to the building rally point. To see it select a civic_center
Stan`
The problem with step 1 is that those icons are in square boxes which makes them too small.
GunChleoc
I find steps 2 + 3 easier to read, because they don't all have the same outline.

nani
I prefer the old ones. Reasons: Have a more defined outline Each has an unique style but share a "theme" of sorts. Old school style suits RTS well. They icon are quicker to differentiate from others compared to the sleek now ones. Don't fix what's not broken. Improvements that could be made to old ones: Resize all icons so they share the same similar size. Improve them doing a "remaster" of the old ones but keeping the essence of the style. Summary: I like the new ones too but the old ones serve well and there is no need to replace just because of it. Stan`
I could try to remaster them, I guess...

Stan`
In A24 there will be support for status effects, So I tried to make a few icons in preparation. I also added new icons to the list above. 5
Rolf Dew
The status effects look great! They're definitely going to be useful.
soloooy0
is perfect state effects, catas and fire cav, Would they do damage, after stopping attacking, to units and structures? the morale and the cold will be interesting in what situations you put them. Stan`
To units yes. For structures I'm not sure maybe @Freagarach knows more. For now cold and morale are just because I find it fun to make icons these days

sphyrth
The modern vibe of the status icons don't seem to fit the game's historic theme. But then again, I did think that 0 A.D. DOES need that modern UI touch.

Every entity which has the "StatusEffectsReceiver"-tag in the template can be affected by status effects. By default that are both units and structures. The flaming javelins and flaming pigs are very good use cases for status effects in vanilla 0 A.D. 3

sphyrth
Everything's coming together. Step 4's Repair Icon is the sore thumb. The Original seems to fit Step 4, though. Edit: I only noticed this now. Why is Guard's icon a sword - shouldn't it be a shield? Edited March 19, 2020 by sphyrth
