  1. I think a good start for this thread would be to explain what soft batallions are and how they work.
  2. I thought of that, too. Probably it would make it easier for players of earlier versions looking for that specific map. I'm not aware of disagreements about 'how maps should work', so I'd be interested to see what your suggestion thread would bring up.
  3. I'm not convinced by this historical/theoretical argument, since the same restrictions aren't imposed on the actual gameplay. For the most part the game is not about replaying historical events. I'm currently playing Kushites in Anatolia with a sub-Sahara biome; three things that don't go together historically. If Britons can conquer India they should have access to elephants (just like the historical Macedonians could have).
  4. Yeah, I think with 'Middle East' it's the same as with 'Near East'. I also thought that Cappadocia would be a good name.
  5. The description for the map says first it's in Central Anatolia then it says it's in eastern Anatolia. I find that contradictory, so I suggest to change the first sentence to 'eastern' and to delete the second. I also wonder if it's a good name, since 'Neareastern' is a Eurocentric but not a contemporary term.
  6. One has to run them in packs (I always take 10 along), put them on standground and micro them. btw I don't think healers on aggressive stance should flee at all.
  7. There was also a Woodhenge in Germany: https://www.ancient-origins.net/news-history-archaeology/4300-year-old-woodhenge-germany-revealed-public-first-time-006224 (In that context I read about another Woodhenge further south, maybe France.) Also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cahokia_Woodhenge
  8. I know they should, but @davidsrsb says he saw instant healing. I just tried it and it was not instant (a25b).
  9. Not if they heal instantly. And I think healers are fine (except for their totally wrong behavior) and I wouldn't want them to be nerfed.
  10. And last to get into position for attack, and first to pull back out of range from defenses...
  11. Yeah, I guess many theatrons are OP. But one of them is already useful, I think. (And I'd do it anyway, because I can & I'm ever so glorious, lol.)
  12. I believe it's workers/(workers+CS inf), where the workers are female in vanilla. Cav, mercs, champs and heroes don't count. You be the judge of how helpful you find that info. The resources are free. (It's actually more the gain when you reach a trading point.) By default it's 25% each, you can adjust that under 'Barter & Trade' (the coins symbol); shift clicking on one res will take it to 100%. When trading with an ally a small part of the 'load' will go them and vice versa. You can see a distribution when selecting a market and hovering over its counterpart. (Although the numbers never add up, i.e. it shows '38+11' while the traders 'carry' 57.) Edit: Or the numbers do add up and I just didn't get it:
  13. I also suspect rubber-band mechanics would draw out an otherwise quick and clear victory.
  14. Will the mark wander along if a relic gets captured? I always was torn if I should consider it a bug or a feature that they disappear when you leave LOS...
  15. Yeah, I called cav horse riders. (Cause they ride horses. :p ) Not sure what you mean with black borders, though. I guess that's just the border of the map. In doubt you could upload a screenshot.
  16. By scouting. Use a horse rider, they're fast and have a good vision range.
  17. You'll just have to put up two markets; max distance for max profit. You can also use ports as trading posts, which also allows you to put them up outside your own territory, thus maxing the distance. You might want to make sure you can protect your business. On Gualdalquivir River for example I do it frequently when the fords are secured.
  18. Meh. I paid for those units and their fighting power (through upgrades). If I can overwhelm a player with 100 units, it's their fault that they don't have 100 units to repel my attack.
  19. @wowgetoffyourcellphone Yes, or could you maybe make a nugget?
  20. The gold looks a lot like player yellow and the square isn't near as distinctive as the stone quarries; still it would be better than the status quo.
  21. Don't know what you are referring to. Personally I really don't like the UI. All symbols are so minimalist, they don't have any flavor nor transport any vibe of medieval.
  22. You might wanna check your sources for that. I've been German all my life and never heard of a 'Kar'. We got 'Karren', but that's something you put behind oxen. Chariot would be Streitwagen. (Just checking I found out there actually is a geological term 'Kar' meaning 'cirque'.) Edit: Come to think of it, we have 'Karre', which is a colloquial term for a car...
