  1. I never produce horse archers. I'd rather take the damage than the range. Ever since I saw an camel archer chase a gazelle literally over a whole normal sized map I resent them. Playing as ptol I begrudgingly take them as half of my ranged cav because I usually can't afford mercs only.
  2. @AcanthisI'd like a neat fighting formation, but whenever my units were in formation I just wanted to turn it off immediately. So I don't even have the experience that I could give an as detailed feedback as yours.
  3. Alright. But I think ruins v. whole buildings and sacred/magic v. mundane sites are fundamental questions decisive for the art to come up with.
  4. I like the idea. Controlling the (majority of) Caravanserais would also appeal to my more 'wordly' understanding of the world, rather than the 'magical'.
  5. I'm also curious about that; I don't know of any way. ??? I've never had an ally build a single building in my territory. I guess one has to bank on the generosity of the ally. The AI is omniscient, and I too believe there's some check coded for what I'm low on. That also goes the other way round, when it requests resources it's something I have a bunch of; unpleasant when I'm saving for sth specific, like Will to Fight... I noticed that in a25 the ally will ask for resources even if it has several hundreds or even >1000.
  6. I was wondering if any of our civs would consider ruins of old and dead civs as sacred. Whatever works, I guess.
  7. Haven't forgotten, just took me a bit to reproduce it: I didn't cut off the empty space to illustrate how much space there is to present the stats. I guess I have to hit six digits (here xxxxx.5) so it gets cut off.
  8. Wouldn't the cultures' buildings be intact at the peak of their might?
  9. I don't think it sounds like fun, but I don't really see it coming. Should it actually be implemented I gonna push for the inclusion of latrines, sore feet (sore butts for cav) and STDs to add depth and realism. :p
  10. The only thing I mind about the omniscient AI is that it can throw down a foundation of a CC in a region where it never had a unit close to it.
  11. I can't remember AIs ever form an alliance AND attacking me. When they attacked me individually I often noticed a very similar timing; sometimes I could watch them fight each other just outside my border.
  12. I had that quite frequently, haven't seen it in a25 yet. (But I also don't play maps like archipelago.) Yeah, it looks deeper than shallow. Don't know what the intention on Schwarzwald is tho.
  13. Interesting. In earlier versions I usually was everyone's favorite enemy, playing with four enemies I could actually count down the attacks. ('Mkay, red and yellow attacked me, where's - ah, there's purple, now let's wait for teal...') That has changed with a25, I guess the accessibility of an enemy now has a stronger impact for the AI.
  14. I guess it's a feature, not a bug. On other maps (like Flood for example) you can also build ports in waist-high water without a connection to dry land.
  15. Naah! We're talking about if they're too powerful here, not about buffing them.
  16. Maybe just a troll move? Should any of you do sth like this, please let'em die to those few random wild animals!
  17. You mean the game you already downloaded does not work? If you attached those files it might save the ppl here some guesswork.
  18. Not sure if you're trolling. https://www.nucleairnederland.nl/en/themes/waste/ :
  19. lol, no. I think we should get out of coal ASAP, so that's not a valid point for me. (I actually pay a premium on my electricity to get neither coal nor nuclear (arithmetical).)
  20. I don't know about other countries, but in Germany the true cost of nuclear energy is hidden. The state pays (paid) for R&D, it covers the risks (under market conditions no nuclear power plant would ever go online, it's simply not insurable) and it pays for handling the waste. I don't think there is a single deposit site for highly radioactive material anywhere in the world operative; handling that stuff for a million of years will also cost a lot of money.
  21. Nuclear energy is neither cheap, nor clean, nor safe. I definitely don't count it as 'green' or sustainable. I think the UK had to guarantee sth like four times the market price for electricity to their new nuclear plant to be built. (Supposedly Hinkley Point has a military purpose; even if I'm against it, at least that would make some kind of sense.)
  22. Yes, a higher rank tech might be nice; I think the embassies used to have that. Maybe the garrison XP could still remain additionally. I'm skeptical about other suggestions how to handle training. Playing against AIs, it actually works for me (to a degree). I usually have a phase from mid-p2 where I can afford additional stables and cav to mid-p3, when I start my grant world peace & unity tour.
