A while ago my a25b was dead; once it worked, then it didn't. I strongly suspect the Epic Games Launcher to be the culprit; apart from regular updates that was the only change to my system and the EGL feels like an overall piece of sheeet. I simply turned it off and on again un-installed 0AD and then re-installed it and it worked again. So no cry for help, I didn't even look at the files, but since I had them I thought maybe some of you might be curious. cheers logs300522.zip

OK, I don't wanna edit the above post to death. Let me start this post off by saying that I generally enjoy the a26 version! One of the things I noticed was the unit icons; did they all get an overhaul? Anyway, I think they look really nice. Thanks to everyone working on this version, and specifically to the person(s) doing those icons. On to the next "complaint": Y no flag? @Langbart

I thought I saw something being done about the worker's elephant problem to enter the CC from the corner; unfortunately it's still an issue. savegame-0987.0adsave I had that issue before the save and on reloading it persisted. Also I have the feeling that since RC1 garrisoning/ungarrisoning sometimes messes with the units' stances. I noticed it then with Ministers and the ministry, and earlier in my current game the ele came out of the temple being aggressive (which doesn't make sense, I believe I had it on standground); haven't been able to reproduce, I'll see if I can catch it again. Edit: The worker ele lacks an acknowledging sound when ordered to build; if I have it selected together with inf they also won't make a sound when being ordered to build.

Were you ever able to save a game? Or is the \saves folder empty? If not, try to delete any saves as @Stan` suggested above. If there's a corrupt save, the game will crash on trying to load and trying to save.

Have rams been nerfed for the next patch?
Gurken Khan replied to Archon's topic in Gameplay Discussion
Try blades. Swordsmen, sword cav, in dire need even women with their daggers. -

Pretty solid article. Ofc I could nitpick some of the guidance it offers. I find these indents really ugly. I think all text lines should start exactly like the header, currently there are three positions. Who does something like this? Who thinks it looks good? Who is our German maintainer? I was wondering if "Gameplay" was an oversight or a decision.

366 MiB free seems very little; what's eating your RAM? Can you zip & upload your logs folder? Then we could look for errors. https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths

@Dove of Arc This thread is about the SVN version which shouldn't concern you. Let's see what we can do in the other thread.

Blablabla. Not interesting and besides any point. In the screenshots on page 1 Fringesongs wrote: And all that other spam. Those two quotes alone should get him banned.

Game speed and further development
Gurken Khan replied to BeTe's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
OK, seems like integrated GPU only. -
Sorry, real quick some off topic. According to some project leader (whose identity I won't reveal as it was in a pm) we have about 20k active weekly devices with opt-in autostats. Just as an idea what our active player base is.

I continued with the demo campaign. Interesting that you can string together maps like that, but ofc it doesn't really feel like a campaign as there is no continuity from one game to another. What I found a bit annoying was that the settings always reset to default (resources, speed...); usually those settings persist. I don't think I will play the Cycladic Archipelago; I don't think I can fit all the buildings I want on my starting island and those other bits of land don't look like they can hold a CC, let alone additional buildings... I found the Corinthian Isthmus map weird. Lots of space, but zero hunt (apart from the starting sheep). I'm still not a fan of needing merchantmen to collect sea bound treasures. Since trade didn't seem worthwhile in those puddles I produced two merchantmen and destroyed them after collecting; cost/profit seems ok, but still doesn't really feel satisfactory. The stone quarries are nice, but I find the 2000 stone / 4 worker slots totally disproportional.

Do you have a dedicated GPU and checked the game is running on that? -
Game speed and further development

That's a known problem, but mostly for MP. Are you a single player? First thing I usually recommend is to make sure that the game runs on the dedicated GPU. (Are you playing on a laptop?) You might also check the "lagging" part of https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/FAQ -
Increasing social media markting effort for 0ad visibility
Gurken Khan replied to Darkcity's topic in General Discussion
That's kinda difficult. According to my download history it took nearly two months from a25 RC1 to release. And everything depends on voluntary work. But ofc I think all suggestions how everyone can help are good.
