  1. I've experienced that, at a certain now defunct imageboard. Ppl who were affected by an IP range ban could "apply" for a code snippet and then use that to still post. Don't know if that idea can be helpful in any way, just thought I'd mention it.
  2. Everything that's copyrighted WFG should be careful to mess with.
  3. I think this might prevent friends from active players at institutions like schools or universities to join.
  4. Depending on the situation I think it can pay off doing it immediately after start; if you produce two or more units the gate will be done before they spawn. (Just be aware to set the rally point anew, otherwise your units will take the stupid route.) Here I wanted to go to the marked patch of wood (besides building twin towers on the border to troll my southern neighbor), as you can see it ~halved the walking distance.
  5. I don't know when it was changed, but at least in a26 it's very cheap (20w) and really fast (12sec) to turn a wall segment into a gate; I often do it, keeps an occasional cav raid out and doesn't prolong my walk time.
  6. I wouldn't know how the elevation could play into this. No matter the zoom or angle, the silhouettes stay off on that hill; something's even cutting them from units on lower ground: I'm attaching that save, maybe someone could check if they can reproduce, or inspect that hill. I'm guessing it's two separate issues. savegame-1171.0adsave
  7. I'd say they're consistently on for me*. Didn't notice anything off so far; after that incident I opened up a save from the previous game and the silhouettes showed. Opened an earlier save from that "ambush" game: *Except that "ambush". I believe I'd notice silhouette issues and that they were fine, and then they were suddenly not anymore when I went up that "ambush" hill. Edit: Nope. 1920x1080. Edit2: I saved when I was running up that hill, seems only that location is cursed:
  8. btw: is there a reason why as Gaia I can select any resource, but when I select multiple and there's meat in there it only selects the meat? Why doesn't it just select all resources? I find that very inconvenient.
  9. Yes. And the nickname isn't "family friendly".
  10. Yeah, seems so. Never noticed a problem with that in these RCs, up to and including RC3; didn't change any settings, but today:
  11. @Sevda I don't see that ruling the seas. btw: That's a Gurkenkahn!
  12. Right. I try to factor in such thoughts when I build and send units to work. Most basic: send women inwards/backwards, soldiers forward. I guess walls are just not worth the effort. Like historically: when walls had a use they were built, when not they weren't.
  13. I believe players don't build walls because they're not efficient. If you want to change the gameplay to encourage turtling I expect heavy resistance from the vocal MP crowd. I always build military colonies, because they each have a unit I want. If territory and cost are reduced, I guess I would build more CCs/MCs, but I don't see it as a priority.
  14. @seeh No, it's added up. If you look at the table @a 0ad player posted you see "Stich 3 + Hieb 2,5 = 5,5 DPS".
  15. Sure, if it helps people play the way they want, why not. It's just not for me, and resources being unrecognizable, like the berries in the vid you linked, would be another counter-argument for me.
  16. I think it's hideous. Even conceals some resources.
  17. The purpose is to have citizens with two genders instead of just one. If you read the starting post you would have known that it doesn't change stats.
  18. How is it possible for a woman to build a house and then not being able to enter said house? savegame-1166.0adsave
  19. Yeah, you're right, producing Ministers to just put them next to workers is probably not worth it. My last post was merely an elaboration of my first post. I guess it was a slippery slope from buffing workers to discussing Ministers in more detail. Well, everyone has a chance to understand/play with them right now with the RCs. If you don't want to get into (my) costs/benefits arguments here but have opinions about that, why don't you open a thread about it so we can discuss it and hopefully improve it before the release of A26?
  20. Sorry, what is "the panel"? (I gather info from the structure tree, I guess it's something different?)
  21. @chrstgtr For far off sheep for example it makes a (bit of a) difference. I won't (or even can't) build a farmstead for three sheep hanging around in the middle of nowhere, and if I can have a pack of horsies just grab those 300 food that's much more appealing than having to micro it because of their meager 3 slots. Plus those slot numbers just don't make any sense to me; why would sheep have less slots than chickens or rabbits? I don't think the anatomy of trained and not-trained animals would differ enough to justify a difference in slot numbers. Personally I prefer the "whatever" approach and give all animals 8 slots an be done with it.
