  1. If the decay would be prevented then they wouldn't go to Gaia. I don't see the point of building walls in neutral or enemy territory when they quickly go out of your control.
  2. I believe walls can be manned, but that doesn't count as garrisoning and doesn't stop decay?
  3. Yeah, well. It's good to have them (for example if an enemy should show up with siege), and if they're building to prepare an offensive their low gathering rate doesn't matter.
  4. When you think it's the right time. But seriously, I think when you got your eco running and prepare for the next strategical phase. Let's say you built a tower near your backwards wood and left three soldiers there to man it; you had houses near so you could've garrisoned your women if there were a raid. You could pull up you other CS inf to the front/middle wood/metal and have your Skiritais build your military buildings near that. Maybe include a stable; having some quick responders is nice against cav raids. The stable upgrades aren't that expensive, and if you have some horsies chasing raiders, hide your women and have a tower or two shoot at the intruders that would take the fun out of the raids.
  5. I had a hard time understanding your comments, so first suggestion would be to increase your mic volume relative to the game audio. Different units have different gather rates: don't put your soldiers on food, don't put your women on minerals. Skiritai have very poor gathering rates, collecting with them is not very efficient, use them for building or fighting. Champions can't gather at all. "Workers" are women + infantry citizen soldiers. If you put your storehouse directly next to a mine gathering will be less efficient (longer walk distances). You somewhat researched your gathering tecs. Use the alarm bell in the CC to save your women! They will automatically hide and when you end the alarm they will automatically resume working; your enemy killed more women then he should've been able to, totally wrecking your food eco. Build your base defensible: choke-points, some units to repel raiders, some spots to garrison women/soldiers. You built ~all your strategic buildings to the back; longer supply lines, less support near the front (temple). You realized you didn't manage formations well; was painful to watch you go into the column formation over and over. Either use none or a better one; also watch your units' stances: aggressive if they're supposed to chase, stand ground + attack move order if they're not. You picked the worst possible spot to engage the enemy army: between a garrisoned CC and the garrisoned fortress; with that and your neglect of armor upgrades you go ripped to pieces as you were. HTH
  6. I remember a vid on Tom 0AD with @Stan` and @Freagarach. Maybe some devs (and a host) could come together for a MP and give us a bit behind the scenes and what's new talk for the new release?
  7. I believe that's the difference between basic rank (structure tree) and advanced rank (the trained unit). I mentioned before that I don't think it's ideal that what you get is different from what you see in the structure tree.
  8. Did you ever look at your RAM situation in the task manager while you're playing? Maybe you could free up some RAM if you close some programs.
  9. Hi @Stonyx, welcome to the forums. Did you download the game directly from the wildfiregames site? I haven't heard this one with the screen turning off. Do you have a dedicated GPU and checked in its menu that it's used for 0ad? Set exceptions in Norton for the game. If those don't help we would need to look at your logs. Here's how to find them: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GameDataPaths#VistaWindows10 Here's another recent thread, maybe it's of interest for you:
  10. Of course nothing in depth, still a decent watch. (Especially for a watchmojo vid.) Didn't hear about some of them, like Sutton Hoo for example.
  11. Do you have a dedicated GPU? Currently you are using the integrated. If you're not sure try to find your hardware manager (I believe that's what it's called in English). Or do a right click on your desktop and see if there's a "NVidia..." entry (or what your gpu might be) in the menu; then click through the stuff and tell it to use that gpu for 0ad.
  12. I didn't find the list, but isn't there also something like "I will obey"?
  13. Probably, but I assume to be able to help you folks would need to look at your /logs. AFAIK 0ad is 32bit anyway on windows, so I don't think the solution will depend on win64.
  14. Is it possible that this 0%? Or is something wrong with the theatron? I'm attaching the save where I cheated to be in the same position regarding my ally's territory. savegame-1178.0adsave
  15. Welcome. I had looked for archer pics before, to maybe inspire you, and Rambo actually was the closest to useful I found.
  16. I've experienced that, at a certain now defunct imageboard. Ppl who were affected by an IP range ban could "apply" for a code snippet and then use that to still post. Don't know if that idea can be helpful in any way, just thought I'd mention it.
  17. Everything that's copyrighted WFG should be careful to mess with.
  18. I think this might prevent friends from active players at institutions like schools or universities to join.
  19. Depending on the situation I think it can pay off doing it immediately after start; if you produce two or more units the gate will be done before they spawn. (Just be aware to set the rally point anew, otherwise your units will take the stupid route.) Here I wanted to go to the marked patch of wood (besides building twin towers on the border to troll my southern neighbor), as you can see it ~halved the walking distance.
  20. I don't know when it was changed, but at least in a26 it's very cheap (20w) and really fast (12sec) to turn a wall segment into a gate; I often do it, keeps an occasional cav raid out and doesn't prolong my walk time.
  21. I wouldn't know how the elevation could play into this. No matter the zoom or angle, the silhouettes stay off on that hill; something's even cutting them from units on lower ground: I'm attaching that save, maybe someone could check if they can reproduce, or inspect that hill. I'm guessing it's two separate issues. savegame-1171.0adsave
  22. I'd say they're consistently on for me*. Didn't notice anything off so far; after that incident I opened up a save from the previous game and the silhouettes showed. Opened an earlier save from that "ambush" game: *Except that "ambush". I believe I'd notice silhouette issues and that they were fine, and then they were suddenly not anymore when I went up that "ambush" hill. Edit: Nope. 1920x1080. Edit2: I saved when I was running up that hill, seems only that location is cursed:
