Add a special civilisation tech for Iberian slingers
wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to Alar1k's topic in General Discussion
"Lead Sling Bullets" works for a Forge tech (Slingers +10% pierce and crush ranged attack). And then a "Slinging Tradition" tech (Slingers -50% experience needed for promotion) for both Balearic Slingers and Rhodian Slingers at their respective Barracks. -
Civ: Germans (Cimbri, Suebians, Goths)
wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to wowgetoffyourcellphone's topic in Delenda Est
For eye candy shields, it would be awesome to just place some prop points ("empties") where we can just use the shields already in the game. That way they can have proper actor variation and all that cool stuff. The shapes are looking good. -

Trust me, we've wanted to remove them from the CC for years now. The "column" effect is definitely visible in-game and not desirable. Better to future-proof your hard work and just add a nice block foundation now. -

The checkered tiles can be removed since they will float if not on a flat surface. It actually needs a platform under the ground level to deal with slopes. I like the courtyard and corner trees. The corner trees are a motif, as you've noted, that helps weld the structure set together. -

Hero and champion for the Zapotecs in Terra Magna
wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to Lopess's topic in Rise of the East
If you don't mind, in Delenda Est I will go with my original idea for the heroes and make the "Battle Priest" a hero and the "Jaguar King" a hero, just so they can have a choice just like the other civs have a choice. If I do this, do you have any suggestions for the auras? Each hero in Delenda Est has these attributes: Primary Aura (ranged, 20-50 meters) or Bonus The bigger the range, the lower the effect; the shorter the range, the greater the effect "Bonus" could be like Agis, where he has 3x more health than other heroes, or be like Leonidas who has greater attack than other heroes, or Iphicrates who is much faster than other heroes, etc. Secondary Aura (global) or Bonus "Global" means it covers the whole map for as long as the hero is alive. Global auras tend to be weaker in effect because they cover more units/structures. Special Technology Unlocked in Town or City phase. Mount or other personal Upgrade in City Phase. Most heroes can upgrade to a war horse (all of the Roman heroes) or chariot (Cambyses and Xerxes). Leonidas upgrades to a frenzy mode. Socrates upgrades to campaign armor. Since Zapotecs don't have horses, they can maybe upgrade in some other way as Leonidas and Socrates do. -
Also, perhaps experiment with population costs?

I think the game has too much reliance on wood. What that means for cost adjustments I don't know. But I think historically the most important resource would have been food (and potable water).

Funny thing is, they used to be more impressive until other buildings were made larger over time. lol I'm talking over the course of years. The original sets of buildings were quite small back in the day and the fortresses looked more impressive then. But now, I don't see a need to make Fortresses look more impressive since they are constantly being nerfed by the dev team. They are essentially just keeps or "strongpoints" now.

There could easily™ be an option to toggle how often notifications occur. Could be as simple as: Frequent and Infrequent. Yours would be the "Frequent" option, while "Infrequent" would be a few of the items I and others have mentioned. -
About that....

I've seen some updates at their github repo recently, so work making it compatible is occurring, yes.

Right. A masonry/stone platform would be good underneath. The Athenian wonder needs one too (Parthenon), as it currently floats over hills. -

Yes, the first post is a good reference for structures @MrLux. The mod also needs new head models: -

wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to wowgetoffyourcellphone's topic in Delenda Est
Correct. Those are "Norse" buildings from Millennium AD that I have commandeered to use in Delenda Est as stand-ins for Suebian buildings. They look nice and are good for now until someone wants to make custom models for the Germans. They can definitely serve as inspiration. -

Currently, the Suebian buildings use these textures from Millennium AD: structural/norse_struct.png structural/norse_roof_b.png But if you want to you can make a new custom one (preferred). -
Suggesting rework of "Espionage"
wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to Grapjas's topic in Gameplay Discussion
I don't see how extending it to all support units is a nerf, when before all you'd be able to see is the position of some trade routes and whatever the trader happened to be walking by. At least if you extend it to all support units you could see the position of his key mining operation or something to that effect (in DE, bribery is possible for all Support units and Citizen Soldiers). You can use bribery multiple times as long as you can afford it and get multiple bribed units feeding you vision. It's not supposed to be some big game changing effect. Just possibly give you some actionable intel. If the first bribe doesn't give you much, bribe again. Maybe it's currently too expensive for that, and cost needs looked at in conjunction. -
Suggesting rework of "Espionage"
wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to Grapjas's topic in Gameplay Discussion
The current bribe method is supposed to be a bit risky. Sometimes you get actionable intel, sometimes you don't. EDIT: Right now, the downside is too likely. That's why I proposed to extend bribery to more unit classes, to increase the likelihood of actionable intel. -

I think this one would only happen once, when a Scouting unit has first seen the enemy after X minutes. It wouldn't happen constantly. The Wonder notification would be for Wonder victory games and/or if Wonders are made more integral to the game as discussed in the other thread. I think if Wonders become more of a big deal™, then the notification would help add some drama to the proceedings. I like these ideas. Allied notifications would be nice. These are good. Especially since they can only be trained once, this means their training and deaths are more important events. Not sure about the mine depletion notifs though, unless individual mines are made more important (as I have proposed before).
