I was thinking of changing the basic-> advanced -> elite // champion nomenclature in Delenda Est to something like what you propose, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm quite deeply obsessed in my current writing project at the moment (you'd love it, its subject is the Greco-Persian Wars), but it's on my todo list. The only issue--and it's a big one--is that the current nomenclature is quite embedded into the inner workings of the templates and art. Not impossible to change by any means, just a nice little project on its own. For instance, think of all the actor file names ending in _b, _a, _e, _c. I enjoy tackling projects like that, but I'll only do it if the crew here deems it desirable. Not gonna put all that work into a PR which will languish along the bank of the River Styx. Another one I want to tackle is the Civic Center nomenclature, which is currently quite inconsistent. That's a whole other PR.

Why are there no bridges?
wowgetoffyourcellphone replied to htfeafafaf's topic in General Discussion
I think it might be worthwhile to try to get bridges implemented as map objects at least, as a proof that we can make walkable objects work in the engine. Then figure out how to allow players to build them (if we'd even want it; there are a ton of possibly confounding edge cases). -
I like the idea of a date palm, but perhaps something religious would be better.

Yeah, I'm not happy with the one in the first post.

Mod.io asks the modern to include a thumbnail image for their site. Perhaps the download page could pull those images.

I actually wish this page would show the mod's thumbnail.

A small ledger telling what the colors are would be nice.

Not erroneous. They all had theaters, even the Greco-Bactrians! It's one of the surefire archaeological evidences of Greek or Greek-inspired habitation. The most definitive physical evidence comes from the archaeological excavations of Ai-Khanoum (likely ancient Alexandria on the Oxus), located in northeastern Afghanistan. Archaeologists unearthed a massive traditional Greek theater built directly into the side of the city's acropolis capable of seating between 5,000 and 6,000 spectators. It featured rows of seating surrounding a circular performance area, built in the exact architectural tradition of mainland Greece. It's even recognized as the easternmost permanent Greek theater discovered from the ancient world. Then one would disable the UI for such a screenshot and the build info wouldn't show anyway -

Right, my opinion as well. -
And then after the wooden one is done, maybe remove the tiled rooftop from the skene of the 'stone' theater? Make it a flat roof (with a small lip around the edge) with a trap door on top and a crane? So, keep the U shape of the skene, but remove the angled tiled roof. We can keep the tiled actor to give to the Seleucids and Ptolemies or something, while Athenians get the new flat-roofed+crane version.

Right, if we really wanted it to, we could have the option to toggle off the logo, but the build info would always show up (no option to toggle off). -

It would show up by default when taking a screenshot, but have a toggle to turn it off in the Options menu. -

https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/issues/9171 I'd like to advocate some more for the About page and moving the build information there. If it's useful for screenshots to show the build info, then have it show up with the game's logo at the bottom right corner (currently Alt-K toggle, but it could be automatic for screenshots) when the screenshot's taken. Any chance to keep the HUD clean and organized I'd like to take it (within reason of course, which is why we're having this conversation). (Put it in the bottom right) *I'd actually like to have a new Options section for Screenshots (Show UI? Show Version? Target Folder, etc.) -

What's the mod.json file look like? -
I wholeheartedly agree. In fact, Delenda Est has this feature already. Subsequent UnitAI changes to the base game have made it a little buggy, but it could easily be added to the game without too much fuss. I've already created an issue on Gitea for this: https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/issues/9143 ^Rating: Must Have Indeed. I'd like to change the house from: Small House 5 pop 75 cost and Big House 10 pop 150 cost to these new stats: Small House 10 pop 100 cost and Big House 15 pop 150 cost and Tenement (Carthage and Rome) 20 pop 200 cost I've always thought that the pop bonuses and costs should be more aligned. The double cost and double benefit difference seemed too big to me. And then, I think, re-add the 2 pop cost for Citizen-Cavalry and Infantry Champions, and 3 pop cost for Cavalry Champions. And increase 'default' pop cap to 400. ^Rating: Should Have The word you're looking for is 'Tooltip.' I think most of us agree that they should be improved! I've made this gitea issue, which is very relevent: https://gitea.wildfiregames.com/0ad/0ad/issues/9166 ^Rating: Must Have

New Civ emblem: Did the Theban army carry aspides of this shape in classical times? Debatable to probably not. It's likely a shape based on earlier archaic examples which are lost to us, but what's not debatable is that the Thebans themselves used this design to represent them. I imagine the design is a part of their national identity and founding iconography. It's all over their coinage and even today is a well-known symbol for Thebes. My head canon can imagine a scenario where during some excavations on the Cadmean hill to level it off and build their religious and civic monuments they uncovered evidence of their 'glorious' bronze aged past, which included shields or votives in this shape, so they built their founding myths around these objects and possibly even displayed them in their major Cadmean shrines or temples.
