Hey folks, I tried around with the palisade and had the idea to make every trunk a single prop, which adapts to the height of the terrain, so that it has a nicer look on hilly terrains and the towers inbetween are (almost) obsolete. Let me know what you think of it palisades.mp4 It works good, some problems are left though. The tower is a single stick now, which doesn't make much sense. Sometimes the "stretching" leaves too much space in between or produces overlapping. I think those things could be solved by editing simulation/helpers/wall.js, but unfortunately I don't know javascript, maybe somebody would like to dig into it. I'd like to add more faction-specific lower walls, if that works. It wouldn't work with stone walls though

The gods didn’t like how much noise the boys made and invited them to play the ball game down in Xibalba. When the boys got there, it was a trick, and they died. Luckily, One Hunahpu had twins named Hunahpu and Xbalanque. The two boys were also very gifted at the ballgame. They played on the same court, and the gods of Xibalba were annoyed to hear all the noise again. They asked for them to come to play at their court. But this time, the boys were far too bright and outwitted the gods. They had several different creatures help them.

  7. I'm not very familiar with Aztec mythology, but about the architecture I think it's OK, putting it in perspective to other Mythologic models. 0ad's mythological mod could benefit from an update at this point.

  9. I don't think so. I am not even sure who is Helicity, whether they are some other smurf or a genuine new player. The first time I saw him play, he was already like 1300 (not cosmic) and dominating noobs. Then a few months later he was smashing me in 1v1s. Nice progress

  11. @Helicitya Your points 1 through 5 are correct based on my 3 or 4 years of experience with 0ad. But you have only revealed the tip of an iceberg and there are many more errors in his list. Alas, he doesn't care. İdk who is Hilal but it's a Turkish girl name, meaning "Cresent " The dude claims that Ricsand is Acero İf you ask anyone who has been playing since A24 or A25... Don't even need to explain... İt just shows that Goat is a total clown.

  12. Congrats @Norse_Harold The core of the problem is not Goat, but rather some people who have are obssessed with finding smurfs. GOAT cannot possibly come up with that list all by himself. Even you as a moderator cannot be certain about who's who. So, why is GOAT flagrantly posting false accusations? Obviously he has fans - the people who take pleasure in staring at this list, thinking that they have caught all of the smurfs. Somehow even false accusations will please them. İt is the same people who would submit reports to GOAT, then gladly see the new player who has spanked them in a game being put into the list with some old smurf. Somehow this makes the feel better after being smashed, as now they can convince themselves that it wasn't their lack of skills and progress but rather some OP player smurfing on them. The list exists to please these smurf persecutors at the expense of causing chaos, more imbalance and personal attacks. Furthermore, @Norse_Harold I hope you have realised that Goat isn't doing this for the compliance of lobby TOS, but to entertain his supporters and troll whoever he victimises. He has ZERO respect for facts and anyone who points out his mistakes. Some entries are so blatantly preposterous that any technical methods like IP tracking would have invalidated them instantly. He's just a clown to entertain certain individuals who are obsessed with persecuting smurfs. @Helicity do not attempt to dispute with goat. As soon as you point out his errors, his loyal smurf persecuters will put confused reactions on your post. Goat will never take your comments seriously, instead, he will send you a banana emoji. I'm also expecting the smurf persecutors (who think they are righteous) to put confused reactions on this post as well

  13. I remember proposing this about 2 years ago and I was laughed at. Now it's your turn. Cubes and cylinders reduce CPU load and also abstracts the resources so that human players can react to the quicker. You can also easily see the distribution instead of being covered up by canopy.

  14. As long as we don't have a morale and/or "orders" system, there's no realistic way of depicting heroes, so we're more or less stuck with unrealistic damage attack and amount of HP. One way to alleviate this problem would be to make clear that the hero represents not only the actual hero, but also his/her personal retinue.

  15. In general yes, until we have instancing, which would batch them assuming they are the same mesh and texture. Currently no. Sure but that'd still be worse than the current one. Probably not so bad assuming not too many are on screen.

  17. Well the whole point of getting towers is that you gain a measure of defense without any population cost. I think it is important that towers, CCs and forts have default arrows so that they are important for map control. I made a patch and a community mod branch to make buildings not target randomly. What this would do is make buildings better against smaller raiding groups, and actually kill units among a large army instead of damaging them all slightly. Balance would follow of course, for example, IDK why a CC has almost as much firepower as a fort. I think forts should have more default arrows than CCs. As for ships,@wowgetoffyourcellphone is/will be working on a ship rework to make them proper units instead of using buildingAI, which I think will be a huge improvement for ships (among other things like scaling them down some). For towers, another option for decreased effectiveness with pierce armor would be to decrease their damage a little and make them ignore armor. haha never mind thats a terrible idea. I'd say just keep the damage models the same tbh, or replace the increased arrow count upgrade for increased damage upgrade (available in city?)

  18. initial arrows can stay as they are. I was thinking about a tech for enhancing attack damage, but also it would make sense to just have buildings also be affected by forge ranged damage techs.

As is tradition, Delenda Est already has this cool feature. https://github.com/JustusAvramenko/delenda_est/blob/master/simulation/templates/template_structure_economic_farmstead.xml#L13 And it works pretty nicely. Try it on the Miletus Peninsula skirmish map in the mod, since there's a nice free Farmstead nearby you can capture or the new Isthmus of Corinth skirmish map, which also has 2 nearby capturable Farmsteads. As an aside, the mod makes a distinction now between Granaries and Farmsteads. Granaries are built by the player, while Farmsteads are gaia objects you capture to get the Farmland aura. But of course "under the hood" "Granaries" still use the Farmstead nomenclature to not screw up the AI.

  21. We dont need this. When I build a farmstead near animals I don't want them to run away. When I scout and see that I've hunt, so I can make a strategy based on that I don't want the hunt run away. Just make a mod?

  22. Because this fuss is extremely boring for me. As for cheats, I need the opponent to start from a completely advanced era too. I don't want to start the game in an undeveloped world like Tarquinius. I want to start as Publius Sempronius Sophus - in a fully developed state. I don't need the next alpha as it won't have this feature. But if you decide to add it to alpha 28, well, then wake me up in a year. [Presses the end of the turn.]
