Turns out I can't figure it out ad hoc. One example I found might be a border case: My women were lured from 1 to 2 and kept chopping in that area although 3 was nearer to their original storehouse and right beside another storehouse. I remember a more annoying example from that game, but it seems I broke the save by opening it a couple of times; or so it seemed, actually the game now crashes with a similar error message every time I want to open the open saved game dialog: I would look out for examples, but since my laptop is in the process of dying I might not play too much in the near future. I don't think so; they're clearly trying to get off the site but are (sometimes) too dumb to actually manage it. Although admittedly the last example I'm thinking of it was a large building and the units in question had a moving order which seemed to throw them in an unsolvable confusion.2 points

- worker eles cant be garrisoned in CCs if standing at the corner - units in formations often fail to gather resources, to be garrisoned, and to be shown as idle - athenian docks cant train soldiers without the iphicrates tech even this does not match the description of that tech - some people cant host games in the lobby, and others cant join matches of certain hosts - multiplayer matches often crash for no apparent reason - groups can fail to build buildings if some members are standing on the constructionsite - workers dont take the closest resource to the dropsite, but the closest resource to their last resource1 point

I think base game should just go the AOE route and skip all the notions of realistic size, movement, garrisoning siege engines on deck, etc. Just have an upgrade progression (like in AOE). Light Warship -> Medium Warship -> Heavy Warship, and size the ships down a little for better pathfinding. The only "cool" feature I'd maybe implement is ramming, since it's just an extension of charging, a feature we all want for soldiers anyway. But other than that, just stick to the AOE formula for ships, because anything else (besides ramming) will be too complicated to get right, unless someone comes swooping in and wants to put 100 hours into it. Better to make them playable than to spend time and capital on making them half-realistic.1 point

Yeah, there is certain priority for possible actions to determine the primary one and secondary one (with ctrl modifier), others needs to use specific key modifier, for reparing its P by default I think. For mouse pointer, I do not know so I cannot give an answer. Maybe @vladislavbelov would know as it is a bit graphic thing.1 point

I say first we need to think what other role this extra unit could fit into, then we propose changes. Kate's proposal ain't bad for a start, even if a little extreme.1 point

I still get crash upon opening Atlas with Unhandled unknown exception error. Like this: I have attached the crashlog.txt below. Entire logs folder has also been attached, although not sure if it helps since mainlog and interestinglog don't show anything suspicious. This still happens even after I deleted cache folders. Is it just me? crashlog.txt logs.zip1 point

so it's been a while since I posted DerpHammer 2.0 is progressing slowly, but it is progressing! I just ported it over to the Alpha 25 Pre-release version (the second release candidate specifically) everything went well, except I'm having issues with the structure tree for the Dwarf faction it is completely broken and I'm getting these messages, though I don't know what they mean: for the Empire faction, the tree works but I'm still getting some of the messages: I've tried looking what I did differently between the two to find out why one works and the other doesn't, but I can't figure it out...1 point

Yes it is. You get rolling updates, repos are sourced from arch, installation is easy and KDE images comes with great out of the box config. The manjaro and arch community don't get along, half because arch users are douches, half because manjaro users can't read the manual and somehow always end up in arch discussions. But that's a battle for people with way too much free time. The logo doesn't matter in the least, so if you want Arch repos, rolling updates and don't want to manually install a system, go for it. AUR works the exact same way regardless of distro. Regarding dependency hell, manjaro Devs have messed up before, don't update after pushes before a few days, let someone else check for breakage.1 point

A big change in 0 A.D. Alpha 25 is the reworking of biomes. This is something that’s slightly slipped under the radar in the run up to the launch of the new Alpha, so here is a brief look at some of the changes you can expect to see. Biomes are integral to 0 A.D. They are the visual and physical environment that each game is played within. We all have our favourites – or bogey biomes we dread getting in a random match. They’ve remained largely the same over that last few iterations of 0 A.D. – but Alpha 25 will see them undergo something of a shake-up. What Technically Is A ‘Biome’ In The Context Of 0 A.D? Biomes bring textures and natural objects, such as trees and animal species, together to simulate an environment you would find in the world. Why Are Biomes Different In Alpha 25? 0 A.D. Forum member, modder and contributor, @wowgetoffyourcellphone, has been adding new texture assets to diversify and modify existing biomes in his 0 A.D. expansion mod, Delenda Est, for some time. He has been the driving force in getting these enhancements into the core game, along with assistance from fellow contributor, @maroder. The result of this work will be seen for the first time within Alpha 25. What Will Be The Most Noticeable Differences? New terrains and their biomes will be more coherently put together, as opposed to the more ad-hoc nature that they were added previously. And the new terrains with be of a consistent 2k resolution, incorporating normal and specular maps. Previously, terrains were of varying resolutions and only a few had normal or spec maps. Wow, These Biomes Look Awesome! They sure do! And it’s worth highlighting that all of the new terrains come from sources licensed as Creative Commons CC0 – ‘No Rights Reserved,’ – to show how far CC0 assets have come and that you don’t have to purchase assets in order to make your game look good. What About The New Names? Are These Whole New Environments Or Just The Old Ones Renamed? Some (like temperate) are extensive redresses of old biomes, while others (like India and Nubia) are completely new. More new biomes should be in the works for the following alpha as well. Eventually all the old assets will be superseded by all-new ones.1 point

We should just have female and male workers with the same stats. This seems more accurate. I think working on fields or in mines was more a concern of class/caste than of sex in these times. Regarding female warriors: I lack the historic knowledge about that. But it seems that newer research doesn't support this thesis that in the past (without some exceptions) only men were warriors throughout the history. (not sure if this research applies on 0ads timeframe) Edit: @Sundiata might know something about that topic as well.1 point

Woman can indeed fight, they are even decent ram counters. Spartan woman are even stronger. It can basically be said woman are like their male counterparts, they just don't run around with armour and a weapon meant for war all day long. So if the tutorial states they can't fight that's wrong and should be fixed. Though the base hit points of woman is to low and could arguably use some tweaking. Would also help reduce the impact of early cavalry rushes.1 point

There is also Boudicca, Cleopatra, Amanirenas as heroes. I'd be interested in a cosmetic change for some civs though. @Nescio @borg- @badosu @Genava55 @Thorfinn the Shallow Minded Do you know which civs could use both male and female as citizens ? With the Phenotype feature it should be easy to do. Not sure how to make the citizen aura a bit more fitting1 point

@Crea The mauryan faction's champion unit is a female unit (The maiden guard unit), can't think of any others at the moment.1 point

Hi so I just started playing this game. (Technically I haven't gotten beyond the tutorial of the game so maybe that's all that needs fixed?) I'm female and got pissed at this game in the tutorial. I get the time frame women can't "fight" aspect of that time but could you at least make a little less sexist by making it so there are male gathers that also can't fight? Or making it so there are like amazon warriors? Or better yet both? Here's more on the amazon warriors: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/news/2014/10/141029-amazons-scythians-hunger-games-herodotus-ice-princess-tattoo-cannabis/ If this is already a thing an updated to the tutorial would be great! If not I, and I'm sure your other female players of this game, would greatly apricate some changes in this regard.0 points
