  1. If someone would like to tackle the challenge, it would be great to have the Pantheon in Rome added to the game (perhaps as part of a group of wonders for a possible "Capture the Wonder" game mode). For DE I'd like to use it for Augustus' wonder (I'm able to change wonders and other things based on who you choose as a hero). Shape. Statuary along the roofline and in the pediment. Bronze Rooftiles. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mozaik 3D replica. https://us.mozaweb.com/en/Search/global?search=pantheon

  2. In the real world you wouldn't see one. tbh I don't know how to make one

  3. Some bugs like the texture converter one only happen in dev copies they are not the highest possible release blockers and can be somewhat ignored. Some others break the game badly and cannot be. There is a drop in activity these days because some of us were on holidays. We did not expect to find so many nasty bugs so close to a release.

  4. I'd say 1 month inactivity grace period, then -1 point each day up to a max of -100 or something acceptable.

  5. I think this should be and additional upgrade for the p1 tower, either you upgrade to the p2 tower we already have or you upgrade it to the " Mirror Tower", it would have to be more expensive than the normal p2 tower upgrade but enables it to affect siege machines but not regular units. I think a choice like this, between denying area to units vs denying area to siege would be interesting.

  6. I made it from a defence tower. I changed the firing rate of the defence tower to 50ms and damage to 3.5 fire. Then I deleted the projectiles on the actor.

  8. Erm, let me think. I have an IP that never (or let's say very rarely) changes, and I want to keep it (very) private. Let's discuss via PM, if you don't mind. However, I call it a day for today - and wish you and everybody a nice remainder of the day/evening.

  9. Many banned players can return using second accounts and third accounts. I know players who have 5 or more accounts... although most of them are quite well mannered. This makes blacklist obsolete, instead, we might need to switch to a whitelist system for your children. The whitelist should contain a list of trustworthy people and their ip address so that you can play with them without worrying about profanity.

  10. (Mis)using games to (try) compensate or live agression, is not nice and even more a problem with online games - a reason why I do not (yet) allow our kids to play online. I am very happy being able to play 0 A.D. with them offline (well, in our private LAN), but it makes me sad that developers might feel pushed to invest their free time for things like filters to ban people with bad behaviours. On the other hand, I agree that there is a red line and trespassing cannot be tolerated. Are there any curated lists of names in the Internet, comparable to blacklists for adblocking and such? Maybe that could help. Just my 2 Ct about this (from my perspective) a bit difficult topic. You all stay well.

  12. I added a note in the Wiki for the GameDataPaths: This start parameter might be helpful for users who want to keep the release version besides an SVN version with the game data kept separate. BTW, does the Atlas editor also make use of the -writableRoot start parameter? Does e.g. the following make sense? C:\Users\JohnDoe\Documents\0AD\0ad_svn\trunk\binaries\system\pyrogenesis.exe -writableRoot -editor

  13. Makes sense. It’s just the first one I really paid any attention to development, so I was curious how it worked. Better to come off the block clean than to stumble and risk immediate backlash

  14. Currently, you cannot. Atlas uses another GUI system, called wxwidgets which has it own format, mo files. So we need something to extract those mo files, turn them into po files get transifex to pull them, pull back the translations and then convert them back to mo files. Not sure how hard it is, but it hasn't been attempted yet.

  15. I guess the reason why we want to have ratings is to balance out players in TG and avoid hitting an OP player in 1v1. Therefore we can use something more informative than just 2 numbers, hence the profile idea. You can doctorate the numbers but if you get a profile then that is a very solid illustration of your playstyle and skill (unless you create a second account). A lot of players have low or no ratings because they only play TG, so we need to include that in the profile. Of course, globally, we can have a top player for each civ.

  21. Shall we include performace against bots as well? Players can smurf, troll and make mistakes but bots will always be the same. Favourite civ is a good idea. Perhaps we can create a little profile for each player, showing number of games played number of games won overall kd ratio total units killed Time since last activity Average time spent on 0AD per day When they joint the lobby Some form of ELO rating, like lichess Favourite civ Personal statement (let them write a short paragraph to describe themselves) This profile pops up when you double click their name.

  22. I'm surprised the lobby doesn't kick the game (after a grace period) when the host is absent.

  23. I don't really care how common it is currently to capture a cc (nothing in this life is written in stone), but add a more interesting dynamic to it (which ends up not running away from the reality that when you captured a people you tried to make the most of it of vantage and labor), a current fact is that capturing a CC is an investment of troops and time, making it easier to simply destroy everything. My biggest fear is how this might affect the multiplayer community which ends up being the last word in changes of this type in 0ad.

  24. I meant in addition to the normal rank have another rank for their most played faction

  25. Yeah like we could see who is highest rated ptol player for example.

  26. That is easy to implement, it is just some xml trickery. Currently in the Athenian CC xml template: <ProductionQueue> <Entities datatype="tokens"> units/{civ}/infantry_spearman_b units/{civ}/infantry_slinger_b units/{civ}/cavalry_javelineer_b </Entities> </ProductionQueue> {civ} will be filled out as the current owner's civ. This means if you don't have infantry spearman in your civ then you won't get any infantry spearman out of the captured Athenian cc. For example, if a Macedonian player captured an Athenian CC then they will get only a Mercenary Slinger and a Mercenary Cavalry javelineer out of the CC. To fix this, we replace {civ} with athen: <ProductionQueue> <Entities datatype="tokens"> units/athen/infantry_spearman_b units/athen/infantry_slinger_b units/athen/cavalry_javelineer_b </Entities> </ProductionQueue> In this case no matter who captured this CC they will always get Athenian units out of it. This might not be ideal though.

  27. We could take the civ icons, because they look nice. Problem is that would maybe imply some kind of rating of the civs. But we could also use other technology or building icons. I made some based on your suggestions and what was available: forum_ranks.zip

  28. I try to look them up from time to time as well as language requests. @nwtour has done an amazing job at getting things translated. I guess the biggest translation to come would be to get atlas mo files

  29. When I find an obvious bug in an English source string, I add an issue there. Developers can access issues a lot easier than normal comments, and resolve them when they have been fixed. And no, comments & issues on Transifex are not part of the po files, you can only see them there.

  30. The problem with this reasoning is that you can twist it to justify about anything. A community needs rules just as a society does. BTW I am kind of annoyed of the inflationary use of the word "-phobia"/"-phobic" for any kind of disagreement whether it is coupled with fear (the actual meaning of that word) or not.

  31. If you don't see the issue you are likely a part of it.
