Who would be interested in a new mod based solely around Alexander the Great? Gameplay-wise, my idea would be to use Delenda Est as a base, but then disable civs and maps that aren't relevant. I'd create a series of scenarios where the player plays as Alexander and his Macedonians as they rise to power and conquer Asia. Key historical characters can even make an appearance, such as Hephaistion, Parmenion, Craterus, Cleitus, et al. There can be two mods, even. Glory of Alexander follows his rise and conquests, while Legacy of Alexander focuses on the Diadochi, or "Successor", factions. Glory of Alexander Scenario 1: Chaeronea. Young Alexander and his father Philip face the Athenians and Thebans. Both Alexander and Philip must survive and all members of the enemy Sacred Band must be eliminated. Scenario 2: Philip has been murdered and Alexander takes his place as king. Thebes takes this chance to revolt against Macedonian rule. Besiege the town of Thebes and make an example out of them. etc etc8 points

I think the only way to make this work would be to work with some of you other modders to implement battalions. There will need to be some scenarios where they are just large battles and battalions will be needed. * *If the core game implemented battalions there could be a "Pitched Battles" game mode on battle field maps.3 points

What you see is probably just a difference in the territory line drawing compared to the real territory that the players have (the real territory are squares not smooth curves)2 points

Also, for art, I think I'll need some help from modelers. For instance, I think there should be 2 different Macedonian factions used in the scenarios: one for building settlements, etc.basically modded standard Macedonians civ; and another one representing the Army on the march. This custom Macedonian Army faction would have no territory effects, Alexander's tent for the "civic center", a "General's Tent" for training Parmenion, Hephaistion, et al., some cavalry corrals (like the Xiongnu ones in Terra Magna), Soldiers' Tents, etc. and would be used a lot in the more combat-focused scenarios.2 points

What is AutoCiv This mod is an aggregation of features meant to enhance the 0 A.D. game experience. I usually implement these extra features as they come up with no general plan in mind. Download (how to install section below) autociv.pyromod autociv.zip Feature list General Readme: press Shift + F4 to open Player mute Player reminder (show a written note when a certain player joins) *** Link opener (opens URL links from the chat) Help command: type /help to see all available commands Console with autocomplete (Ctrl + C + L) Lobby Resize bars Host name mark Remember playerlist state Better performance when reloading lobby Shortcuts to create host, navigate gamelist Game setup Auto-assign civilization with chat (only works if host has the mod) Custom population limit Custom starting resources Custom map size Countdown to start the game Maps Skirmish Volcano island (8) In Game Hotkeys for (see hotkeys with hotkey viewer) Buildings placement Multiple buildings per hotkey (optional, user.cfg) How to use: Copy the hotkey you want and remove the "hotkey." prefix, next replace the hotkey key for the buildings you want to cycle and separate them by a space. yeah great idea- but lets work on the next alpha first before we pull mods. One step at a time...1 point

The houses started converting only once the red tower was put down. Is that tower the reason why the two territories are joining on the second screenshot ? But of course the second screenshot isn't really an answer, the true answer is magic !1 point

Indeed, I just tried the newest version and the game is blurry af. @nani You need a graphics option to disable it.1 point

Possibly this? https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/5513 Maybe something on your computer is causing the files to hotload while you're away (I don't know what, antivirus or something?) Try hotloading a file while the game is paused and see if the behavior is the same (as reported in #5513).1 point

Not sure what I can say, but in either case I've not edited the post, nor has Nescio. I'm certainly not wanting you to feel disappointed, but I'm not going to lie just to make you feel better. I hope you will want to keep being a part of the community around 0 A.D. and contribute to it for many years to come, but then you need to be mature enough to admit that things might be different to how you want them to be. There aren't 100s of reviewers for every patch submitted, there isn't the time to write an essay on each and every suggestion or discussion that's posted on the forums, etc etc. The team members are at least as disappointed with that as anyone else, but that doesn't change things. If you have constructive suggestions for how to improve things feel free to offer them, but just complaining about something that then turns out to be the opposite of what you claim doesn't help anyone.1 point

What exactly do you mean? Your patch ( https://code.wildfiregames.com/D1803 ) was accepted and implemented in the development version two months ago and your name is in the credits.1 point

It was committed so I do not know what are you talking here about. https://code.wildfiregames.com/rP222031 point

So you mean zooming animation? If yes, then you are right. I should change it to something less nauseous. The feature is already on phab on queue review.1 point

+1 Great work mate ! I guess if he has some time @s0600204 could review it ?1 point

I check this out. It's pretty darn awesome. Please add it as a diff at https://code.wildfiregames.com/ so that it can be added to the game! The "zooming" feature with the scroll wheel is neat, but kind of unexpected behavior and adds user discomfort. I'd rather, as a user, you just choose the size of preview you think is best and the number per page (maybe that can scale with resolution) and leave it at that, ala AOM. It's your mod, but I think static pages would be best instead of the neat but weird zooming effect. Ideally, they could all be on the same page with a scroll bar, but we ain't there yet. Your "page" buttons are a good compromise for now.1 point

Anyway, I think that add new animals should also be a problem. Let's suppose for example that a desert map adds 1 camel per minute for every herd of camels (it would be a good amount for a rusher player). This means there are something like 4-5 camels more every minute (considering in the map a total of 4-5 herds of camels) But now let's suppose that 2 players are playing a small map and they both decide not to rush, so not to hunt. This means that when they will decide to attack, around minute 16-17, there will be something like 100+ camels in the map. That's quite crazy, don't you think? XD1 point

So from what ive gathered, you know this place and this repo and this crew. So I want to underatand, are you indeed confirming that some people can evidently (and quietly) change their posts on this forum? Because it seems to me that all you have done so far with your reply, really, is to come upon a single voice being raped by many entitled voices, and you have only jumped into line (with a smile emoji) to take your turn too. That seems self-serving of you @feneur, or covering for your friend, as opposed to being either helpful or investigative for example. Open-minded is a concept, yes? To be clear, with only about two posts under my belt at the time, I mirrored nescio's language in my reply on purpose. Because I didn't know the markdown for quoting. @Krinkle perhaps my initial comment was more spot-on than I thought. Has anyone else here beside me given you the DR mechanics feedback you asked for?0 points
