Minor details such as this make the game more enjoyable, at least for some people. No, I've just been playing the game with @Alexandermb's "horse trot" mod enabled. If you need me to integrate it for you, I can do that soonish. Yeah, it's most notable with the Kushite skull cap, since it is so close to the head. Which is why @stanislas69 had to make a custom one for the champ cav.
