Still the same issue that I last posted above when downloading .zip file (only art folder is complete, no simulation folder, etc.). Looks like someone beat it to me posting this issue on GitHub.
-
Downloading the latest Theban standalone faction on GitHub gives me lots of errors. Tried @Lopess's fork but it's worse. Can't this be put into mod.io for smoother transition?
-
Tried downloading the .zip directly in GitHub, but it's corrupted and cannot extract all files completely, even with 7-Zip. Only the art folder is probably complete, nothing else.

Kath, I had a suggestion before yours in the Hero Upgrades thread: Alexander I should not have the thureos skirmisher and Galatian swordsman as the oval shield has not been introduced to Hellenistic warfare yet. Suggest peltastai and Thracian as replacements. The faction can be divided into pre-Hellenistic and Hellenistic era subfactions, with differing unit rosters: Pre-Hellenistic: Epirote hoplite Epirote peltast/Lucanian skirmisher Prodromos cavalry skirmisher Thessalian lancer Illyrian or Italic spearman Illyrian swordsman or Thracian rhomphaiaphoros Cretan archer Allied Greek or Ilyrian light cavalry Chaonian hoplite (or hypaspist) Molosson hippeus (bodyguard cavalry) Heroes: Neoptolemus I and Alexander I Hellenistic: Phalangite Thureos skirmisher → Thorakites skirmisher (can be fourth rank) Greek or Thracian archer Tarantine cavalry Hellenic or Thessalian lancer Thureos (→ Thorakites) or Illyrian (→ Elite/Ardianian) spearman Celtothracian, Italic, or Triballic swordsman Illyrian or Thracian slinger Ilyrian light or Campanian cavalry Chaonian agema (hoplite or phalangite) Molossian agema cavalry African bush or Indian war elephant Heroes: Pyrrhus of Epirus, Alexander II, and Pyrrhus II

Before @wowgetoffyourcellphone forgets, here is the general thread for the Epirotes faction. Current unit roster: Heroes: Recommended resources: Epeiros in Europa Barbarorum Wiki (and the Epeiros category list of units) Epirus on Divide et Impera mod website

Unfortunately, the samurai are a post-Kofun thing. Better off with Yayoi or Kofun-era textures to be consistent with the 500 AD limit. Refer to the Terra Magna thread.
-
Are you planning to replace the onagers in Principates, since especially the sling-type was attested around the Dominate era?
-
@wowgetoffyourcellphone, Alexander I can have auras pertaining to enemy mercenaries as he fought against Italic tribes. Alexander II to friendly and allied mercenaries since he was likely allied with the Aetolians in retaking Epirus. There should be another non-Punic War Roman hero like Scipio Asiaticus, which gives a bonus to capturing buildings. Have you thought of putting Marcus Aurelius as the fourth imperial hero? Also, still bothered by Iphicrates using a Thracian pelta instead of a small aspis or round pelta. Since he did reforms on making hoplites lighter, why not re-make the Stoa theurophoros (champion javelineer) into something like this: ...which is basically just replacing the helmets and from theuroi to round pelte or a phalangite aspis. The aura can be all infantry skirmishers/javelineers in his formation or range have a speed and damage boost.

Cape bug also applies to Pericles when part of a phalanx. Pericles phalanx and cape bug.mp4 Also, Pericles and Agis cannot assume phalanx animations when in formation with other hoplites. Spartan phalanges.mp4 @wowgetoffyourcellphone, how about your hoplite heroes such as those for Thebes and other dismounted ones?

In Seleucus' and Ptolemy's time, thureoi were not yet introduced to Hellenistic warfare; that would be the around the time of Pyrrhus's Italian wars. So if you choose Seleucus, the thureos spearmen should be replaced with hypaspists and skirmishers with akontistai. Maybe the former can have a fourth rank (like the centurion) which wield silver shields. These make sense since you already put Macedonian pikemen if you chose Ptolemy.

Indeed. Appreciated if you added the supporting walls on the right in case a player builds this in uneven terrain such as a hilly area? We don't want to see semi-floating bricks again. @Lion.Kanzen, do you have the shield and winged lions ready? The light-blue part can be the player color.

===[TASK]=== Greek Unit Texture (General Thread)
Carltonus replied to wackyserious's topic in Official tasks
In addition to the Tarantine cavalry that we discussed earlier, the basic rank Ptolemaic and Seleucid mercenary cavalry spearmen (lancers) have not yet been updated to your image above—they're still almost the same as the pre-Hellenistic Macedonian lancers. -
Some cape animations are still bugged, here is an example: Advanced peltast cape bug.mp4

Looking good, @m7600! The surrounding plants are overkill though, are they part of the palace or your own artistic appeal? Will this be the future pre-Hellenistic Macedonian wonder, or a palace special building like the Persians? Also, I got an "Unrecognized phase (phase_city)" warning while reading the Mausoleum and Stonehedge information on Atlas. Is this normal? The rest of the wonders have no warning attached though.

This video goes with ticket #6088. See there for the issue. 1235697852_Housebuildingrotationbug.mp4 Thanks!

===[COMMITTED]=== Syrian Archer Helmet
Carltonus replied to Lion.Kanzen's topic in Completed Art Tasks
Not the best quality, but here it is: Basic and advanced still have Macedonian caps and previous alpha clothing. Elites do not have the helmet and scale linothorax, bucklers should be out. On another note, the Macedonian and Ptolemaic Cretan archers may have not been updated to like the Athenian counterparts. -
===[COMMITTED]=== Syrian Archer Helmet
Carltonus replied to Lion.Kanzen's topic in Completed Art Tasks
The Syrian archers are still using the old Cretan mercenary actor from previous alpha(s). Has anyone tried to remake this helmet, by any chance? -
some positive updates in a24 and few suggestions
Carltonus replied to king reza the great's topic in General Discussion
I prefer upgrading the outpost to a sentry tower-like stone (or more wood) building, as in Delenda Est. Agreed, there should be a production trickle or related idle command. The language choices for the Achaemenids were supposed to be Old Persian and Avestan, the latter probably exclusive to the magi. I believe these are just placeholders until a willing voice-over can produce the needed sound files. You mean no siege engines in the Roman siege camp? Thanks for your comments! -
Greetings! The Trac articles on this game looks a bit messy. Do you need any help migrating some 0 A.D. on Fandom (formerly Wikia) articles to Trac? My Fandom username is the same as in this Forum. Just tell me how to upload images, create tables, etc. on Trac so I can get started with this project. Thanks!

So what cavalry archer (citizen/mercenary) will Alpha 25 be in the Seleucid roster: Dahae, Parthians, or Scythians?
-
I'm not sure what you're referring to. Aren’t the arena and the two gladiators for the republican Romans already “committed”? Or are they only found in certain maps/scenarios?
-
The previous alpha has the Carthaginian quinquireme only built in the “super dock”. Now it can also be built in the normal dock like the Romans and the successors. Is this intentional? Aren’t the hoplomachi and murmillones already in, or will be in the actual release?

===[TASK]=== Ptolemaic Tarantine Cavalry (Mercenary Tarantine Settler)
Carltonus replied to Hidan's topic in Official tasks
Since Alpha 24 is around the corner and the Tarantine cavalry are still using the Odrysian actors, why not re-texture the Parma shields (for basic rank), and slightly shrink the aspides (for advanced/elite, as @wowgetoffyourcellphone mentioned above) until a willing modeller makes the actual shields with the spinae? These ones look like they're wielding those for phalangites. Also, the Odrysian cavalry may have to be wielding peltae (or none) instead of thureoi since the latter is only attested to the Hellenistic period in Greek mercenary usage. -
I could, but there are the risks taken into account (memory, legal, time, etc.). I am typing this reply on an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2015), very old computer according to one of my instructors in another trade. Methinks, this isn't a Retina-type screen I am using after all.

Tried running application on OS X 10.11.6, reads that it "requires OS X 10.12 or later". Isn't this contrary to the minimum requirements from the official website of "10.9 or later". Expected better than this. Will try on my bought-recently Windows laptop once I get home.
