Nice trees Do you know why the grass doesn't throw shadows?
-
Nice ideas. You may also want to have a look on this Shiyn started something similar some time ago.
-
Seems like the freehand formation cancels the formation. If you have a look on your target markers you set, you will see (the five markers in a line) that you have dragged a line
-
Don't try to hunting the ram. Bevor attacking you first should stop the ram. Therefor you could use e.g. freehand formation to block the path of the ram.
-
Correct me if I am wrong. While you are dragging, your line will get one mouse position per simulation cycle. When your game is lagging your mouse is much faster than the simulation cycle.
-
Maybe you need some creater workload. I had nearly 2000 units on the map when my system crashes. FYI I use Win10.

With 1 or 0 in settings the game is freezing or crashing. crashlog.dmp
-
Same settings, 4 Threads it freezes because of error "out of memory".
-
I tested it a few times. One time it crashes, the other times the game freezes. Without the patch I didn't have any "problems" (besides lagging). Til the game crashes it runs much smoother. My Settings: - Intel i5 8250u, 8GB RAM, UHD 620 - 500 vs 500 (AI) vs 500 (AI) vs 500 (AI) Units - Settings to 6 Threads and higher crashlog.dmp

===[TASK]=== 0 A.D Ships Update.
OptimusShepard replied to Alexandermb's topic in Eyecandy, custom projects and misc.
So if this isn't easy to realise in game settings I see there a few possibilities. 1. Have two different installer. 2. The game comes with no models. The models come as two different mods. The mods override each other. 3. A download option in the installer or game setup which override the exiting models. Sorry for being a little bit off topic. -
===[TASK]=== 0 A.D Ships Update.
OptimusShepard replied to Alexandermb's topic in Eyecandy, custom projects and misc.
Why don't have every model twice? One with high poly/textures, and one with lower one. And in game settings you could choose between those two options. Would it be that much work to create two different one? In my opinion 0 A.D. won't be final released the next few years. So if new models will be created they should be the highest quality as possible, because they should be good enough even in a five or more years. @Alexandermb btw. nice work -
Frozen development
OptimusShepard replied to Nescio's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
Dual boot linux should run as fast as mac. If you run linux on a vm your system resources will be divided between your mac OS and your vm. So 0 A.D. will run a bit slower. Don't know how much. -
I've never said which year
-
X-mas, so we also have an release date for A24
-
Would be nice if there were possibility in a future version to combine freehand position (custom pathing) with formations. Maybe something like this
-
If you want you could make a mod. https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/4050
-
You could use the hotkey "freehand position". Right Drag: With units selected: when the mouse is released, the units will spread out on your drawn line. Same modification options like normal move command.
-
Yes. And the maximum says for how many garrisoned units you could get extra arrows. Every further unit doesn't increase the number of arrows. As you see there are three kind of damage. Like the different kinds of damage you have also different values for the armor against the kind of damage. Skirmisher are dealing much pierce damage, and elephants have a weak armor against pierce damage. Because of this skirmisher are very effective against elephants.

bug Graphical bugs with new 0ad
OptimusShepard replied to jarnomodderkolk's topic in Game Development & Technical Discussion
@jarnomodderkolkI have the same problems with my GTX 970. I have tested the settings with an other system with no problems. It seems to be a bug of the 970/980ti (maybe 980?), because the memory is enought. See also ticket https://trac.wildfiregames.com/ticket/4883 Seems to be it wont be fixed. But in my opinion middle/high shaddow settings are ok. Better they use their time to improve the whole game performance than the max settings for only one or two graphiccards Btw. I know that the highest settings works on a GTX 960 (in 1080p) -
elexis we had a in game discussion directly after release of a23. If you haven't enough ressourses e.g for baskets, or some other upgrades and buildings you can't get the information when you are right click on it. You said this is because they are disabled. And you also said that this has to be fixed in c++ and is to much work. I had said I will write a ticket and forget it. Now I have #5269 Don't know if there are more problems. But I think becuase of this it worked only 50% of the time?
