  2. Questioning whether or not someone can use a pencil is not going to encourage them to either display skill they already have, nor want to learn it if they don't. I have not read all other threads you may have interacted in, but your actions in this thread when taken alone are if not grounds for (temporary) banning at least edging close to it. So please be more respectful.
  3. I am saying that I think it should be more effective than just leaving them to attack his hero, and that it should (in theory, so it might be completely wrong) be more effective than spending a lot of effort focusing on one unit.
  4. Well, you should be able to manually order them to attack other units, sure it's not perfect, but should be a better use of your time than his dancing. Also, are you only attacking/defending in one place? I guess at least some maps might be too small for that to be all that important though.
  5. I haven't played much lately, and especially not in multiplayer, but does that "dancing" really have any effect on the game? In theory it sounds like you might spend a lot of time on one unit that could have been better spent on other things, but maybe I'm missing something

  7. The biggest trouble with GSoC is that it's hard to find someone who has got the time to be a mentor for the student/s. In principle it's certainly something we think is useful though, it's just not been possible in practice so far. Maybe someone will have more time this year though, I don't know

Used to be might be a strong word as I believe only the Roman defeat one was ever created, but it seems to have been the idea indeed =) (Unless it was meant to be played after a lost battle, but that seems like it might have been too complicated, so I would assume it indeed means defeat as in a lost match )

  12. There should be no need to. If you didn't change anything when installing the game you should just be able to copy and paste %localappdata%\0 A.D. Alpha\binaries\data\mods\public\public.zip into the address field, then press enter, see the attached image.
  13. https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Modding_Guide is a good place to start, as well as https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Mod_Layout for where to find which files (you only need to include the folders/files you are modifying, no need to have it all if you are just editing parts of it, but it's probably a good idea to read through it all anyway so you know what is available). There isn't just one file which contains everything for one civilization though, so the best way to learn what you can do/need to edit to do what you want is probably to go through a few different files.   14. Are you possibly using a non-QWERTY keyboard? Or a non-english keyboard? Have you edited the configuration for your keyboard in any way?

  16. Have you deleted anything in the 0 A.D. folder? Have you tried installing some mods?
  17. We do get an email with information when someone donates via Click and Pledge, but apparently not when someone donates via PayPal. As for rewarding people who donate, sure, but should everyone be rewarded the same way (even if they just donate whatever is the lowest amount PayPal allows)? Should we put in the effort when we receive confirmation of a donation to check whether there is a forum account registered with that email address/send an email asking whether they have one?
  18. Well, maybe people shouldn't play with over 200 population limit on small/water maps? Because that seems like it will cause issues regardless of how optimized the game is or what the AI is adapted to I guess there is a value in testing with insane numbers though as it might make it easier to find issues which are common in those cases but rarer with lower pop limits.
  19. Locked this topic as it's not adding to the actual discussion of the gameplay etc but is just an argument over who's better - which is quite pointless in an unfinished game, so it's probably worth spending your time on something more rewarding
  20. Choose Scenario as the Map Type, Demo Maps in the Map Filter, and then select the map called Units Demo
  21. Definitely, could someone suggest what to write though? Especially since we haven't really told people that we are working on a re-release, so it might be good to begin with that

Click on your user name in the top right menu, then move your mouse cursor down a bit to the left and click on the image icon that appears over the ring that contains the W that is used instead of an image right now. That will give you a menu where you can choose different ways of adding a profile picture.
  23. I would actually suggest that individual developers set up semi-official Patreons themselves, that way it wouldn't complicate things for SPI, and it could probably help make it more apparent that the patreons would be helping an actual human being and not just a faceless organization =)
  24. I guess I'm convinced I've got to play it again =) I'll probably wait until it's on sale though, I have far too many games I'm not playing of the ones I've bought already
