  1. No idea why, and unless it's been mistakenly enabled/done by someone else I don't think guests should be able to post anywhere in the forums. I made the forum software recount his posts so now it's correct though.
  2. No idea if it's intended, but it actually looks kind of useful At least quite often one wants to go to the last page after all =)
  3. The pre-made maps are indeed found in public.zip, and should be there. You can un-zip it, but there is no need to. The game should look for maps in other places before the zip though, so that shouldn't be the problem. I just tried creating and saving a map, and it showed up fine in-game. One thing to check is whether or not you've changed the name (seen in the first panel in Atlas - the scenario editor), if it's still the same it might be hard to find it in the menu.
  4. Have you tried changing the map filter to All?
  5. Meme war? Either way really nice to see all the nice new trees (and more) you are creating Johnathan
  6. This question has been asked before, and answered, many times:
  7. Have you tried to do a cleanup as it says? In either case, what I would recommend trying from my own experience, though I'm not sure it was this specific error so it could be useless advice, would be to delete that specific file and do an update. In case there is something wrong with the file on your system that should force it to redownload the file.
  8. Wow Really nice bamboo Makes me wish we had a "wow" reaction rather than "just" a like or thanks (It's possible to add new reactions, but you need to have a fitting image, and finding one that fits the current ones and is legal to use is probably more work than it would be worth as the current ones are useful enough.)
  9. Welcome back! (Though I'm more or less gone, so I guess I'm not the best person to welcome you back )
  10. Questioning whether or not someone can use a pencil is not going to encourage them to either display skill they already have, nor want to learn it if they don't. I have not read all other threads you may have interacted in, but your actions in this thread when taken alone are if not grounds for (temporary) banning at least edging close to it. So please be more respectful.
  11. I am saying that I think it should be more effective than just leaving them to attack his hero, and that it should (in theory, so it might be completely wrong) be more effective than spending a lot of effort focusing on one unit.
  12. Well, you should be able to manually order them to attack other units, sure it's not perfect, but should be a better use of your time than his dancing. Also, are you only attacking/defending in one place? I guess at least some maps might be too small for that to be all that important though.
  13. I haven't played much lately, and especially not in multiplayer, but does that "dancing" really have any effect on the game? In theory it sounds like you might spend a lot of time on one unit that could have been better spent on other things, but maybe I'm missing something
  14. Help and feedback is ok as well, but I've moved the topic to the Bug reports forum
  15. The biggest trouble with GSoC is that it's hard to find someone who has got the time to be a mentor for the student/s. In principle it's certainly something we think is useful though, it's just not been possible in practice so far. Maybe someone will have more time this year though, I don't know
  16. Found a later revision now, should have all of the pre-Omri tracks.
  17. Took a closer look, and there are some more here: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/browser/ps/trunk/binaries/data/mods/public/audio/music?rev=8402 (though the win/loss tracks were not made by Boris Hansen, but by Allan Brown @dariusofwest iirc).
  18. Used to be might be a strong word as I believe only the Roman defeat one was ever created, but it seems to have been the idea indeed =) (Unless it was meant to be played after a lost battle, but that seems like it might have been too complicated, so I would assume it indeed means defeat as in a lost match )
  19. I don't see the old music there though. There is some here: https://trac.wildfiregames.com/browser/ps/trunk/binaries/data/mods/public/audio/music?rev=7389 don't remember if there was any more than that made before Omri joined the team and created new music.
  20. There should be no need to. If you didn't change anything when installing the game you should just be able to copy and paste %localappdata%\0 A.D. Alpha\binaries\data\mods\public\public.zip into the address field, then press enter, see the attached image.
  21. https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Modding_Guide is a good place to start, as well as https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/Mod_Layout for where to find which files (you only need to include the folders/files you are modifying, no need to have it all if you are just editing parts of it, but it's probably a good idea to read through it all anyway so you know what is available). There isn't just one file which contains everything for one civilization though, so the best way to learn what you can do/need to edit to do what you want is probably to go through a few different files. A good start is probably the civ files in binaries\data\mods\public\public.zip\simulation\data\civs and the unit files in binaries\data\mods\public\public.zip\simulation\templates and more specifically in binaries\data\mods\public\public.zip\simulation\templates\units . The files inherit from other files, so something might be defined in one file, and then another file builds upon it - or changes something - so you don't need to add everything for every unit in every file, but it does mean that you might need to go "higher up in the chain" to see some specific data, if you only want to change for example the unit information but not the stats it's probably mostly going to be the most specific files you want to edit.
  22. Are you possibly using a non-QWERTY keyboard? Or a non-english keyboard? Have you edited the configuration for your keyboard in any way?
  23. If you provide some more information on what the channel is about it's probably more likely for people to actually check it out
