  1. This coming week will be our exams week, I'll be able to resume working maybe this Saturday. Noted, this will be included in my to do lists. Free normal map generator, you just need to upload the image/texture http://cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/
  2. References for slinger bullet bags were also provided in that thread.
  3. Here is the minor discussion about the Judean textures. Lionkanzen, strongly believes that they should wear Hellenized clothing. I believe the same thing was proposed for the Arab javelineers, Hellenized clothing.
  4. A nice variation of the regular mesh would be an embosed short sleeves for the tunics Hypothetically this is an upper arm The mesh will have a ridge similar to what @Enrique did to the armored mesh variant There will be ridging in the edge of the short sleeves, plus the armor ridge will also be readjusted to fit with the changes. This will result in a bulkier appearance of armored units, which gives them more emphasis and a tougher appeal. It will also emphasize the layering of clothing and apparel.
  5. If someone can remap the mesh, then maybe we can experiment on it at the time being, on some of the major 0ad mods out there, like in DE, for example. Then if something becomes fruitful, maybe we can merge it in the game in the future. I simply enjoy doing it, and it adds joy that others use it too and also enjoy it. These are like toy soldiers for me, it delights the inner child inside me, staring at the units and playing with them in the game.
  6. Those are ceremonial clothes or something like that, Medes influence, as far as I remember. Persian nobility and folks and the royal court wear them (I have even read that it conceals scale armor underneath it)
  7. About to give up in my case, lol
  8. Can't old and new UV map co-exist for a temporary period of time? We temporarily or even permanently keep the old mesh and its textures, while we slowly try to experiment and build up new contents with the new UV mapping (Can even recreate older textures, given that a good amount of dedicated people, as Stan mentioned, will work on this) One of the reasons why I delay the textures that much, to keep up with the changes and improve it as much as possible (plus with the technique and organization used in creating the textures in the .psd, I can say that it is very adaptable to changes (for those who have checked it themselves) It has several structures for each part, base shape, texture, recolor and shadows
  9. I have also downgraded the ptol_pikeman textures to 256s, I forgot to post those, but here's what they look like. (topic unrelated content)
  10. Immortals in ceremonial robes are also available in vanilla game. Atlas > unit/pers_arstibara wow had recently acquired these textures, tho not yet committed.
  11. New Chalcidian helmets looks awesome! One minor thing that I noticed was the fitting in the brow area. Rome at War 2 mod (Mount & Blade: Warband) Contemporary illustration of a Greek hoplite wearing a Chalcidian helmet (Left) Miniature figure Greek hoplites wearing Chalcidian helmets
  12. Also, the Carthaginian mercenary spear cavalry holding a very short spear looks strange.
  13. This error shows up in the following entities: units/mace_cavalry_spearman units/sele_cavalry_spearman_merc units/spart_cavalry_spearman
  14. @Lion.Kanzen and I had a previous discussion about the appearance of the Nabatean camel archers. More references would be great.
  15. This is great, things like this remind people about the game, specially in social networking sites where 0ad have accounts. This gives people who have once in their life have played the game (whether several alphas ago or these past two alphas) to have faith and renew their enthusiasm to the game. This is good news.
  16. Niek already retired from the Council of Modders, he's been very busy, I believe. I think that the Council is somewhat in a state of semi hiatus, with Stan handling more responsibilities as a member of the official art team and the other members being quite occupied, including myself.
  17. Yeah, we must consider that some of the breeds in the wiki article above are a bit modern, some dating to the 1800's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dales_pony This one in particular has a discussion that dates back to the Roman era and mentions the local Celtic tribe that might have used the ponies.
  18. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_and_moorland_pony_breeds A quick search about native breeds of British ponies led to this
  19. If that is the actual size of a pony, then maybe our eyes aren't used in seeing one. Although it really looks strange, maybe that is what the Britonnic Celt cavalry actually looked like and we were just led away by the contemporary illustrations of Celtic cavalry in books depicting the Gallic heavy cavalry of Continental Europe.
  20. I've read some of the comments, aside from usual Youtube trolls, most of the people think that the sounds are copied from Age of Mythology (I cannot give proper opinion here since I haven't played the game title) Aside from that, other notable comments are: A comparison to Rise of Nations A comparison to Age of Mythology, in general A few people commenting that the Alpine map is too small and requesting bigger maps (I believe 0ad's random maps had these, and v. large some maps too) Someone asking where to download new maps Someone from Greece who thinks that the Greek voices sound strange
  21. Nice, can you tilt it a little bit more so that the cap leans more backwards?
