    Not 3D vs 2D but interesting more aspects of rts game design. My last point is more based in game design than graphics, unlike original article from Strike Tactics.

    pathfinder is relevant for example AoE 1 and 2 you can block your enemies path with units and some geographical things. This game design engine level. Very deeper. In many 3D, full 3D is more complicated. I'm early turtle+booming so close my economy is important. Dont forgot 2.5 D Both ca have good base building and have their feel for each taste.

    other thing is related with the file cfg, is keyboard input, but need more development , building cycle, shortcut last notification(sound).

    the advantage is you don't need other players have same configuration. But average player, like youtubers can't experiment this view because aren't forum regular participants.

    About the technologies especially blacksmith and other not so economical which you suggest in a general way. Independently of the map, because in AoE I can tell you clearly where to go, but here is always a thin line of ignorance.

    I would add some citizen management with the keys "." With the keys i+ selection box. Changing the topic how feasible it would be to add the mod keys to the game.

    Hahaha I love that .. But unlike @DarcReaver I want free will to form battalions. (optional) Great writter. One of many tnings I need to learn to do and practice instead just give defensive behavior. 95% done wih my lang.
