  6. Hi all, I would like to do a survey on which operating systems you are currently using. You can write more than 1 if you have more than 1 OS installed. The purpose is to see which OS are the most popular among our players.

  11. I've wanted a "hotload" button for a long time. No, the button would not take the same amount of time as restarting the program as hotloading would only be reloading the game's assets, not rebooting the entire program and loading the game's assets. Also, you would keep your current progress with a button.

  13. It's the old Spartan "ballista tower" model. I may use it for DE's version of the Syracusans.

  14. When the editor is open, the public.zip file is constantly being accessed by the system, so Windows 10 would restrict you from opening it to prevent corruptions. You need to close the scenario editor and all 0ad related processes, then right click on public.zip then click on 'extract here'. After the extraction is done you will get a folder called 'public' (it is huge)! Delete the original public.zip, then restart the game. You should see the mod selection screen. Select 0ad, then restart the game a few times to check if it works. You can then edit the files in public folder. Alternatively, build from git or svn

  15. I believe recently someone declared here in the forums that the only viable way to scale 0AD was to edit a .cfg; since I can't find her post I can't reference it. (Notepad++ was what I thought of bc that's what I would use.

  17. While waiting for a willing modeler in order to finish the veranda (is it necessary?), let us pick the specific name for the new wonder. Am thinking of "Basíleion tôn Aigôn". Are the cases used correct?

  19. Team color can be put on where there is red/crimson: face paint, hair tie, and armor trim and straps. Since the units will be mostly based on Nakanishi's art, decided to revise the ranks. Tunics can be white or light brown (from that lone axeman). Militia swordsman/axeman and two-handed spearman: Basic: No armour, can wear tunic or topless, basic wooden shield Advanced: Basic wooden breastplate and shield (could be painted, latter for swordsman) Elite: Face paint (optional), mokusei katchū and large painted shield with metal sun disc (swordsman), wooden cuirass (spearman) Militia archer/hunter: Basic: No armour, either long-sleeve, short-sleeve, or sleeveless tunic, and either pants or no pants Advanced: Add a basic or thin wooden breastplate Elite: Short- or long-sleeved tunic, optionally wear leather coat, painted or unpainted thin wooden breastplate Bell bearer: same as illustration, mokusei katchū Champion (two-handed) spearman and "swordsman"/axeman: same as illustrations, long-sleeved tunic, optional leather coat, black mokusei katchū or thin painted breastplate with shoulderpads, medium painted wooden shield My proposed unit roster has not yet been revised to reflect the changes though, will do so at a future time. There's still the Yamatai illustrations and raiding spearmen at the first page of thread.

  20. For the basic militia, they can wear a basic wooden breastplate like the one on the lower left. Advanced can wear mokusei katchū, while the elite can wear the ones decorated with red paint. The long-sleeved soldiers can be the champions.

  32. Japan was fielding large armies long before there were Samurai, sending them to mainland Asia to intervene in Korea, marching against the Emishi, or engaging in wars at home. By the Kofun Period, and into the Asuka Period, the warriors of Japan were organized around the uji clans, the clan nobles supported by their toneri and yatsuko retainers. The armies relied heavily on foot archery from behind large standing shields, although warriors with long spears were also common. Some of the elite warriors later fought as armoured horse archers, ancestral to the early Samurai cavalry. These models have the distinctive dress and equipment of this fascinating period. The heavy armour of the better armoured men is particularly solid and handsome in appearance. Note that the shields and pavises are sold separately so that the individual gamer can decide which models are provided with them, based on gaming representation requirements, historical research, or individual preference I have doubts with....

  36. Kofun The Kofun period (古墳時代 Kofun jidai) is an era in the history of Japan from around 250 to 538 AD. It follows the Yayoi period. The word kofun is Japanese for the type of burial mounds dating from this era. The Kofun and the subsequent Asuka periods are sometimes referred to collectively as the Yamato period. The Kofun period is the earliest era of recorded historyin Japan; as the chronology of its historical sources tends to be very distorted, studies of this period require deliberate criticism and the aid of archaeology. https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/resources-for-unit-makers.295004/page-2#post-8726422
