"The White City of Tongwancheng" sounds like a great Wonder. Perhaps once you build it, it unlocks walls and defense towers. Prior to that, it's all nomad all of the time.2 points

Tokens worked. Excellent! Now I am trying to make it so that the Philosopher can only research 1 of 5 available technologies. Do you know if there is a good way to do it? I believe it is possible with nested tech pairs, but it would be annoying for the player to have to sort through 5 different techs. My other idea was to include a modification line in the tech to make it so that once one tech was researched the others would disappear. I tried this: "value": "Researcher/Entities/_string", "replace": " ", This didn't work, and is undesirable anyways because it has to apply to all the units that the original technology "affects." The other possibility I thought of was to have negative tech requirements, but I don't know if that is even a thing. What I mean is that the tech cannot be researched of the listed techs are researched. What I tried below didn't work: "requirements": { "all": [ { "tech": " !philosophy_aristotelianism, !philosophy_platonism, !philosophy_stoicism, !philosophy_skepticism" } ] (From looking around it seems like "!" negates what comes after it? They could have wagon forts. And maybe a tech to unlock the normal defensive buildings (tower, city wall, fortress). They had a capital with white walls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongwancheng During the battle of Mobei, the Chinese seized the Xiongnu fortress of Zhao Xin; and there are finds of fortresses in Mongolia and Russia associated with Xiongnu. Visually defensive buildings could be made of rammed earth. Maybe painted white, but i think the white city would work better as a wonder. References for earth walls (First one is Baian-Bulag ruins, other references are Chinese)1 point

Better: make other civs have useful heroes. The problem with ptol is that they are basically the only civ that could be considered “done.” I’d much rather just change the house/storehouse bonus from being a discount to being something that is more similar to a23, which was free but slower to build. Right now, ptol is just easier to play. There is zero additional thought or trade off that goes into their play because it is just cheaper. Before there was a real trade off with how many workers it took to build all those houses and players would frequently get pop capped if they weren’t careful. I would propose changing ptol houses/storehouses/farmhouses to be the way they were in a24 except take 2 seconds longer to build1 point
