I intend to expose here a sequence of realistic technologies for the Forge (or armory) Pre-Classic Zapotec (and for Mesoamericans in general). Initially, I intend to replace a standard 0ad technology with a name and technology suitable for a preclassical Mesoamerican civilization. Then we can discuss unique technologies and in the future some Zapoteco names for them. Mesoamerican forge (Zapotec armory) tecnologics soldier_attack_melee_01 -- Secondary weapon// Chert knife. soldier_attack_melee_02 -- Improves obsidian blades. soldier_attack_melee_03 -- Improves green obsidian blades. soldier_attack_ranged_01 -- atlatl. soldier_attack_ranged_02 -- Chert arrowhead. soldier_attack_ranged_03 -- obsidian arrowhead. soldier_resistance_hack_01 -- padded armor. soldier_resistance_hack_02 -- armor padded with salt. soldier_resistance_hack_03 -- wood reinforced helmets. soldier_resistance_pierce_01 -- reinforced shields. soldier_resistance_pierce_02 -- leather reinforced shields. soldier_resistance_pierce_03 -- wood reinforced shields. archer_attack_spread -- atlatl training.3 points

Depending how you look at it, the marriage alliances can be part of a war strategy. The princess moves to the ally, after he asks for stone, he gets a princess who sets up her tent. I am thinking about giving her an upkeep aura in enemy territory. @Stan The CheckPlacementRestrictions in entity upgrade isn't a boolean? It throws errors with bool. How to use it? http://docs.wildfiregames.com/entity-docs/trunk.html#component.Upgrade2 points

@Silier @usuario1 hi I will be pending anything @Norse_Haroldyou're persistent commands.txt2 points

Other features that can be considered. Military organization with the insignia of officers who would help organize the battlefield and formations. Fire attacks against enemy structures. In addition to protecting battle uniforms, they had strong ritual and psychological value.2 points

Currently, it can be a little annoying to get a mesh from the game in Blender, especially when it has a lot of props. So I created this little blender addon for blender 2.8 What it does is it loads all the files used by the actor recursively (it picks random variants like the game does) and place all objects on their respective prop points using constraints. (Do not forget to disable constraints before exporting, else you might get into trouble) It also assign a diffuse, norm and spec material to the object @Syn I believe this will be way better than the explanation I gave you by e-mail, as it's a one click business @Alexandermb @LordGood @Enrique @Trinketos @The Undying Nephalim I believe you only use blender as a proxy, but it might be helpful for you as well. Here is an example with a model with a lot of props You can test it here https://github.com/StanleySweet/blender_pyrogenesis_importer/releases/download/1.3.6/io_scene_pyrogenesis.zip EDIT: Textures are assigned in the link above. EDIT2: The importer may edit files, to remove materials, effects or images that might have broken the import otherwise EDIT3: Update version.1 point

something shorter and more visual. There are mechanics that I forget, at some point they changed them. The videos with unit Tips are good they are like when you play a Sport game.1 point
-
makes sense. new or uninformed players have formations enabled by default, and don't know about the to-be-set keystroke that makes it possible to select units as it's always been instead of including all the other units in each formation involved.1 point
-
supposedly the excuse: this way they are easier to distinguish and have fewer polygons. They roasted this guy in comments.1 point
-
Still quite amazing that 0ad without a full studio of hundreds people and millions of dollars of investment, it's capable to offer variants for units, while AOE not even that. I mean, it's always been fine in 2 and 3 but now, with this resolution, is hard not to notice1 point

The mechanics are simple, you probably missed it. The Imperial Ministry produces the princess unit(catafalque). The princess can only upgrade to a princess camp in allied or enemy territory. The princess camp has an aura for ally and enemy each(wip), produces females and princess. You can only have one princess until you upgrade her to camp, which let you build one new princess. The princess camp can be upgraded to a CC if one imperial court exists and the fiefdom tech is researched. The idea was, that this could be the only means of the Han to expand.1 point

yeah.. maybe just a tent (with idk.. a campfire in front, very romantic ) The camp looks too militaristic for a charming princess1 point

Yeah, nomad would start with princess, who marries another nomad and take over. I think this would have to be play tested intensively before removing the CC and fortified CC build option. See a problem with Ai eventually.1 point

Yes, I just wanted to have the princess to serve a purpose if no ally is around. The tent could also be a princess camp, which upgrades to CC, maybe only means to expand?1 point

In my view, that feature does not really change a lot in the early game. In AoE2, players would build a house if they had say 18 or 19 out of 20 population. With the AoE4 system you build a house if you have 19 or 20 out of 20 population, so I suspect it actually only delays the situation by 1 population.1 point

Nope it just checks for the tags's presence in the XML <Upgrade> <UpgradeName> <CheckPlacementRestrictions/> </UpgradeName> </Upgrade> <Upgrade> <UpgradeName> </UpgradeName> </Upgrade> If it's there, then it's enabled, if not then it's not.1 point

I could see some kind of "Marriage Alliance" diplomacy option in a Grand Campaign. Or even such an option in an expanded Diplomacy settings.1 point

Thanks for posting commands.txt from the replay. The developers still need the following files. OOS_dump.dat OOS_dump.txt Please compress the files and then attach them in a private message to Silier and user1. Here are instructions on where to find the files. The folder that you want is described as "user config and logs" or "logs and cache". On Windows it's probably C:\Documents and Settings\JohnDoe\Local Settings\Application Data\0ad\. Replace "JohnDoe" in the path with your username. Here are instructions on how to create a "compressed folder", also known as a .zip file. You can either select multiple files by holding Ctrl on the keyboard and clicking on each file, or you can compress the entire folder. Right-click on files or a folder that you want to compress, hover over "Send To", then click "Send to Compressed Folder". Then attach only the .zip file in the PM to Silier and user1. If you are unable to create a compressed folder then you can attach the files to the private message without compressing them first. It may take a bit longer to upload them, but it should still work.1 point

Romans can build in and "steal" enemy territory. Currently, no civ can build in ally territory and/or expand ally territory. The princess could have the unique feature of helping allies :). It doesn't sound like princesses were used as offensive units - more about strengthening already mutual bonds of others who were worthy of being strong enough to be allied.1 point
-
Yes, I think its best the princes simply steals territory, enemy or ally. maybe some naughty aura that lets arrows miss the tent, make it only to capture by the enemy. Who would want to kill a beauty?1 point
-
Could be an alliance-strengthening unit. In team games send her to ally territory (e.g., a front player). When she establishes a tent you can build in that ally territory a CC (or maybe even just build and expand that player's influence aura but buildings are yours). Maybe even ally could use your buildings as their own if you aren't using them (e.g., unit production buildings). Currently, you cannot build CC's in allied territory and in many cases ally's territory influence acts as a barrier. This unit could be great for holding territory, especially at a forward position, and making the ally/ally relationship more cohesive. Princess could be a unit that just enables a closer union between yourself and an ally of your choosing. Closer bond could be represented by being able to build in that ally's territory and expand their aura of influence. Could be game-chaning for team games. In FFA (free-for-all) maybe the princess permanently ties the alliance and locks it for team victory.1 point

in turn they are ideas from other games. that yes well corrected, and joint.1 point

Hey, would there be any relevance between that specific error and or any problems related to mod incompatibilities while participating in lobby games with mods? @andy5995 suggested whilst troubleshooting community maps issues to clear 0ad cache and since doing so I have not had encountered this "fxaa" error with that mod enabled at restart...1 point

What's the view on introducing a new very special unit, the Han princess, that can only be built max 1? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heqin Just not sure yet what diplomatic havoc the princess is gonna wreak, and how the mechanics gonna work. Edit: some ideas * the princess transforms in enemy territory into a small building with small territory that can't be attacked by male soldiers, because she is so beautiful * the princess establishes an alliance if diplomatic status is neutral * the princess works somewhat similar to a trader, ie establishing a route between player buildings * the princess somehow garrisons an enemy house for example, ie takes it over (for some time) * the princess could have mirages for undercover missions * the princess spawns a gaia Xiongnu wildcard1 point

@mysticjim do you know it would be nice? Make short videos, explaining the mechanics, we can make a list. Examples. guides for units and micromanagement. shortcuts.1 point

While this may not directly prevent the inclusion of these civs, it may make the historians want to "fix" the existing civs before adding more civs with additional "inaccuracies." I would say though, historians, speak up if you want to make fixes. Else, the civs could be added without your (historians') input. I agree with you though, that the Han are super close, maybe even ready right now. Add them now, so people can play them via SVN and balance them before A26 is released. Zapotecs are close too, just need some more realistic Forge techs. Garamantes not yet. Xiongnu need their "nomad" gameplay tweaked a bunch first IMHO. Them and Scythians (and maybe Huns later) are a big departure from the "Standard" 0 A.D. gameplay, so will need special attention. But I agree, "historical inaccuracies" are not really a deal breaker for me, since the mentioned civs are already as good "historically" as the existing civs.1 point
