If you look at it from the other side: someone is playing, then leaves. How can then the other player know anything about why the first player leaves? From the limited information available it is as easy to believe that someone is cheating as that someone is having issues with their internet connection. You can, however, report it here in the forums and it can be looked into, it's a lot more likely that the moderators will be positive towards you if you don't call people weirdoes or assume that there is some bad intention without more information (that is kind of the same thing as you are accusing the moderator/community of after all). @user1 @Hannibal_Barca

Looking at all of these cool mods. Aristeia: Bronze Age, Millennium A.D.: Middle Ages, Terra Magna: Classical Age civs from across the world, and of course my Delenda Est. I am struck with a grand vision for 0 A.D. which could be spectacular. 0 A.D. Epochs Imagine, if you will, a 0 A.D. which spans the breadth of the entire pre-modern age. It's already happening with some very high quality mods, but what if eventually it could be made official? What would happen is that during game setup, the host (or single player) with a check mark system could select the different eras or "epochs" from which civilizations can be chosen. The host could choose only Classical epoch for an historical match, and then players could only choose the civs (like Athenians vs. Achaemenid Persians) with the Classical designation (in the civ.json file for modders and devs), or the host could choose multiple different epochs, allowing for some interesting ahistorical matchups which span across time (New Kingdom Egypt vs. Ptolemaic Egypt for example). Some civs would span multiple epochs (Rome, Egypt, India, Nubia, China all easily spring to mind), with epoch-specificities (the "Late Antiquity" Romans would be different from the "Classical" Romans who would be different from the "Medieval", ie "Byzantine", Romans course). While other civs, like the Thracians, would be relegated to only 1 epoch. In this way each epoch will have its own unique civs, while you can see a pattern of historical change with the long-running civs like the Romans across epochs. 0 A.D. Epochs could be truly epic in this way. How to implement it. Each Epoch can be added separately, in different subsequent releases when the civs of that epoch or mod become acceptably complete. Let's say the current "Empires Ascendant" roster becomes the core group of civs for the "Classical" epoch. Once Terra Magna is close to complete, its civs can be divvied up according to historical relevance. The Han could be added to the "Classical" epoch, while the Zapotecs can be added to the new "Late Antiquity" epoch. Likewise, Delenda Est's Principate Romans can be added to the "Late Antiquity" epoch along with any new "Part 2" civs, like the Sassanid Persians, Huns, Visigoths, et al. Just debut a new epoch with at least 3 new complete civs for some variety. New civs can be added later, perhaps one or two per alpha/beta release. What would be needed from the dev team is the UI code to allow this and then choosing when a mod civ is complete enough to add to the official Epochs roster. The Potential Epochs and Civs (for dreaming) Bronze Age Babylonians Egyptians (New Kingdom) Hallstatt Culture Hittites Minoans Mycenaeans Nubians (Kerma) Phoenicians Sea Peoples Hebrews Trojans Others Classical Age The current Empires Ascendant roster. Chinese (Han) Parthians Nabataeans Scythians Thracians Xiongnu Others Late Antiquity Romans (Principate; Trajan, Hadrian, et al.) Chinese (Jin Empire) Germanics Visigoths Marcomanni Vandals etc. Persians (Sassanids) Garamantes Huns Indians (Guptas) Japanese (Yamato) Zapotecs Others Medieval Anglo-Saxons Arabs Byzantine Romans Bulgarians Franks (Carolingians) Chinese (Tang Dynasty) Indians (Cholas) Mayans Mongols Norse ("Vikings") Ottoman Turks Poles Crusader Kingdoms Others Could maybe expand into the Renaissance, with the Aztecs, English, Incas, Spanish, French, Mughal Indians, Ming Chinese, wealthy African kingdoms, etc. Gunpowder wasn't overpowered yet. Still had lots of melee and heavy cavalry. Any actual roster doesn't have to be nearly this extensive at first. It can start small and get added to as modders add the civs they would most enjoy working on. It's completely doable, as modders will want to keep adding civs to the game for many years. The dev team can curate and make sure the civs don't get too crazy and unbalanced, but the large part of the work is done by modders.

I would really like to see some very basic statistics about the (active) user base in the multiplayer lobby. Things like how many players have registered and a histogram showung the distribution of players in dependence on their ELO would be especially great, since they would allow users to estimate, how strong players with a given ELO actually are. Also it would be good to see, whether the ranking system is doing its job well, i.e. whether the distribution is realistic (e.g. normally distributed) or has features indicating problems (like e.g. severeal local maxima in the distribution). I have heard that the necessary data could be crunched, only it has not been done so far. Hence I would appreciate if either people with acces to the raw data provided some kinds of stats or made raw data available for me to crunch by myself. Cheers, HAL2000

Hello all, I play from this computer along with my brother. I have an account, he has another. Why is my account getting kicked out for multiple accounts ? Is this because 2 people play from the same computer ? I really cannot understand this absurd rules, while the 0ad community is very small compared to most games, you kick out people for no good reason.

@user1 I understand your frustration and I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who make multiple accounts in order to troll, insult, ruin people's experience etc. That's the only way we keep up with those. I don't know how @user1 deals with such cases but I'm sure you'll find an understanding. Really sorry for the inconvenience.

I think all accents are beautiful because they represent your culture or what geographical area you live. For example in Norway our Bunads differ from what county we live.I am from Hordaland so my bunad is Black,white and red. There are different colours from different countys same as different dialects. Now I also have a bunad for Sweden lol

My husband has that game in his steam library but never touched it yet lol My husband bought it because it looked good, but due to the fact he plays several different games he never had time to try it. It looks great,and the fact there are norse makes it even better. I love norse mythology as I love mythology of other cultures,especially the romans. That is such an interesting story about your life That is so cool your family has been in South Africa for that many years. As I explained in my past thread my family are Lutherans but we never went to church. It took me to choose my own religion to get me to dedicate to a faith,and that takes place on the fjord. I am Astrid,and I come from a family of farmers that were just commoners but turned the farms/orchards into a successful family business. I think what got me away from the arrogance of a lavish lifestyle is music,nature,and my religion. Also seeing how bad people act and think with money made me see what money is really about. No not for me lol Norway started out very poor but once we found oil we became very rich,and that lead Norwegians to go from grateful/nature loving people to taking nature and life for grantide. We were not meant to love money,drive fast cars,and look at the mall as our paradise. For years we lived with nature,and loved nature,and put nature first before anything. Our foods were made from scratch,and made from the healthiest ingrediants. Now a lot of Norwegians consume soda and eat fast food because they can now. The majority of Norway is atheist lol Most Norwegians {who were into gods in the past} do not believe in gods or god,they believe live happy on earth {with money},and wherever we go we lived life to the fullest with our money. What a sad attitude right ?I wouldn't be happy knowing I was going nowhere are I leave Midgard so how are you happy on earth when you know you are not going to an afterlife ? Capturing siege equipment could be reviewed as a game mechanic (and either removed, or mapped to an explicit trigger), since no high level player would: 1) attempt it during combat, 2) leave an engine unattended outside of combat, and since it causes headaches for everyone else. My vote is to make attack the units' default action, not some meaningless capture task.

This could as well be implemented as some kind of meta-mod, that has all the other civ-mods (aristeia, millennium, etc.) as dependency.

I am a mix of cultures, on my mother side, I have Persian (My ancestors left before Islam took over, they were Zoroasters), the red hair and white complexion come from them. My mum's mother is light browned haired (she was born a red head) and pale skinned, grand dad was also red haired and pale and her grandmother was blue eyed and red haired. So I have no idea what part of Persia they were from lol. My mother's father was an indian. My dad's side is also mixed too, his mum was blond haired, blue eyed and nordic complexioned, his dad was a light skinned indian, I am not sure where my dad's mother was from. We suspect that we are mixed with european somewhere up the line. Yeah so my dad is blue eyed, light brown haired and like a german complexion, my mum is more olive skinned, with reddish blond hair, with some brown also. My sister and I are dark brunettes, with brown eyes and white skinned, like in between olive and white skinned. It is kind of weird, we get mistaken for europeans all the time, my dad is generally mistaken for an afrikaner or germanic originated person, my mum for a southern european and my sister and I have been mistaken for different types of Europeans too. Yeah it is weird.

That is so true lol This topic went from haircare to crime in Europe. Yes it is great to see other cultures playing and I always loved to learn about other's cultures. You need to get your wife into O.A.D. because I will tell you this,it is so romantic playing a game with your love. I mean how much better can it than a wonderful game being free at the moment,and playing a game with pretty graphics,and a game you can choose how you want to play. If you want to have archers hide in the woods shooting arrows while your spearmen/sword are on the frontlines while your cavalry are getting ready to flank from the side you can play like that. I love it ! There are endless tactics you can play on OAD because the mechanics give us the freedom to roam. If your wife loves RTS or gaming she will love O.A.D.

@Sundiata Yeah it is really turning into a mess all over the world, it seems like violence in increasing everywhere, which is really sad. Indeed the Wildfire community is amazing, filled with wonderful and interesting people. Crime is pretty bad in South Africa depending on where you live. It seems living on a farm is dangerous nowadays too, we've had a fair share of crime too. Although murder and rape is extremely common in some parts of the country, especially in the poorer areas and the suburbs. Which is real sad. We even have land invasions, some guys come and squat on farms or other properties and build townships there. Rural areas are a bit more peaceful though. In South Africa there is too much politics and it affects the country very badly.

I really love the new background pictures in the main menu. However, since the last version, I can't launch the multiplayer lobby because of this error: Can you fix it please ?

I paused a match intending to get right back to it but I was held up and unable to get back. I returned to find I had been banned for "rating fakery". How can I get unbanned?
