All the members of Wildfire Games wish you a Happy New Year 2018. May it be full of wonderful surprises and of achievements in your projects and personal lives! As for 0 A.D., the year ended with a great recognition from our community of players and followers: we were awarded a Honourable Mention in IndieDB's Indie of the Year competition! This is the best we can achieve considering we already made it to the top 5 in 2012 and cannot be ranked again... unless we enter the Released category! Be sure that we are headed towards that direction. We are looking forward to all the new things happening to the game in 2018 and we thank you, old-timers and newcomers in the community alike, for being a part of it16 points

The original (as far as I know) definition of Alpha/Beta stage is to use the Alpha stage to implement the features that the game needs, and the Beta phase for fixing bugs. Nowadays it seems like many developers don't really follow these definitions however (especially with many games continuing to add features even after the game has been released).5 points

The permanent alpha stage is actually one of 0 A.D.'s greatest assets. I hope it'll never be finished2 points

Hello, this was reported by @GunChleoc six months ago and the issue came from Transifex and their new PO parser (which Tutorials uses because it's a recent resource, while others still had (have?) the old parser). Was the issue fixed at some point only to reappear, or is the bugged parser still in production after such an amount of time? You should contact Transifex directly. Their support is usually quick to answer questions so at least we have an update on the issue.2 points

Open the file with Notepad++ set the language to XML that should show you if the file is mal-formed(got syntax errors) if it does try cleaning it up in Notepad++ then try the Actor Editor again. Enjoy the Choice2 points

This game has gone though a lot of improvement since I first encountered it, around 2012, I think? Happy new year everyone! Hoping that more contributors would join this cause.1 point

For pixel art, look at Imgur there are some nice dumps for that. Also deviant art. Stuff like this https://imgur.com/gallery/tFxyX1 point

In order to address this reoccuring topic, we had added the "beta" to http://trac.wildfiregames.com tickets. But the list is incomplete and may contain false positives. The priority list on trac seems more accurate.1 point

Current solution is don't use these materials, because it has wrong rendering algorithm (I have ideas only in mind, currently I'm still pretty busy with our GUI rendering). Actual ticket is #4219 (last fix was by @elexis: r18890).1 point

Nah nothing I can do sadly. It's due to the usage of the grass fancy, so unless you remove it and use the non fancy version there is no easy fix. Maybe @vladislavbelov has a fix. It's also due of a bug that's been reported in trac. Related Tickets #45 Enhance Terrain Blending #2073 Terrain Overlay Disappear with GLSL #2953 Terrain incorrect shadow rendering #3674 Terrain textures differs between ARB and GLSL1 point

I don't forget this project and I'm still working (rather lazily ) on it. But I have no substantial advance to show yet. Thanks for your interest !1 point

If this art is for the Cataphract, my opinion is if it could look a little more hellenistic, that would be great. Plus, keep in mind that Lord Good's art of the Cataphract is the centerpiece of a loading screen. So for the cataphracts to not actually look like that might be weird.1 point

Definitely this idea needs to wait until the Pathfinder can handle it. One of the biggest problems with the game now is the lag with too many units in the game.1 point

Hello @justforgames What version of the game have you download on Debian ? Are you sure it's the latest ? Do you have a 4K monitor ? Are your drivers up to date ? Are you using the proprietary drivers ?1 point

To be sure, the latest file i uploaded of the walk variant works or theres anything i need to fix? IIRC @wowgetoffyourcellphone said it was calling horse01 animations when its now called horse, i did the fixes in my file but didn't uploaded. Horse_Trot_walk_animations.7z1 point

As far as I understand it you can sell it for as much as you want, but you have to provide it for free as well. Hypothetically you could also sell any art/code that is not based on 0 A.D. art/code separately without having to provide it for free, but in practice, it's probably hard to define exactly what is separate enough.1 point

Formations have not been fully implemented and the pathfinder(the code that figures out where and how to move units) still needs some work it is being worked on though. Enjoy the Choice1 point
