  1. Past hour
  2. It kinda is at the moment actually. It's structured for having one turn where players can play (but armies have movement cap, and everything like training, building is counted in turns), then at the end of a turn, bots do they own moves. Well I haven't got multiplayer as a focus right now so it's missing some piping but nothing is being built that would make it too hard to do. Not yet, I want to put together all the work I've done past year to make it possible to have some "battalions battles", and maybe go on with a good naval system. I'd like it to have good variety of gameplay, for example currently you have the mini-mission for founding a city under waves of brigands attacks. So an economic battle. Then army battles where armies fight in battalions, and hopefully both sieges and naval battles can be unique too. Another goal is to mostly support creation of campaign ideas. The campaign I'm going to create will probably be very basic story that just try to show all the gameplay features.
  3. @NiRa Muso MIOZOTO This is the No Violence Mod. All attack abilities are removed. You can't even kill animals, so it seems perfect for what you're looking for. There's also a link to the version uploaded to mod.io, unfortunately, it's outdated. It will need some work to make it compatible with the current version. You could also take the opportunity to change the icon. mod.io link: https://mod.io/g/0ad/m/noviolence-mod
  4. This excerpt comes from Appian's Roman History (Historia Romana, Book X: The Illyrian Wars, Chapter 19). It describes the Siege of Metulum (35 BC), the capital city of the Iapydes (located in modern-day Croatia), which took place during Octavian's (the future Emperor Augustus) military campaign in Illyricum. Octavian's forces were attempting to capture the heavily fortified city by constructing a large siege mound to reach the top of the ramparts. In response, the Metulians engaged in fierce day-and-night sorties and launched counter-defenses, constructing a second inner wall as their outer fortification began to crumble. The Metulians harassed the Roman legionaries using specialized siege engines (tormenta—primarily ballistae and catapults/scorpions). Remarkably, these were not native weapons, they had been captured or acquired eight years earlier (in 43 BC) following the siege of Mutina (Modena), where Decimus Brutus was besieged by Mark Antony before Octavian’s intervention.
  5. Nah that's the correct one. Note that Atlas doesn't use Vulkan.
  6. Today
  7. Ok, just solved it, it was mods enabled. Weird since that happens even with fresh installations.
  8. I used the script in the source/tools/spirv. I thought that was the script I needed to run, or is it a different one
  9. If you're using the dev version you need to download the shaders.
  10. There is a non violent mod which swaps those icons IIRC
  11. This is amazing, do you have a git set up yet?! I can’t wait to try this out!
  12. I haven’t touched it yet, I’ve been quite busy. If you want you can download what I have and work on it more, I’ve kind of lost interest in it.
  13. Yes, but we continued that discussion in: It's one of the things I'd reconsider, and from what I've read, not everyone saw eye-to-eye with him (although I don't know if for well founded reasons).
  14. Nescio was against giving the abilities to other civs to capture enemy engines, he answered just after. Up to the others.
  15. Who would be the one still improving animations? Found this discussion since it has been just quoted, and went fast over it. The incorrect unphysical torsion spirals need fixing, as explained in: Besides: As mentioned in: To fix that those don't end looking the same, and if there's a will to properly delve into siege engines, a whole type of machines is being ignored, while many being considered are probably misrepresented:
  16. Perhaps they could be able to have scorpions and bolt towers (but no stone throwing catapults).
  17. Amazing. This answers: Can the campaign map work with real time also? I've spent some time thinking about how the latter option could maybe work with more than two participants in multiplayer, if you want to discuss it.
  18. It gives one the impression that one is eating meat even if they never hunted. I'm not gonna lie and say the ancients were vegetarian (except the Buddhists and the Jains). But I'm also not gonna lie about them pursuing pacifist or strictly self-defense based victories. Is there already a mod for this ?
  19. More like, zombies? Speaking of which, a zombies mod could be nice.
  20. When I open a map or create one in Scenario Editor, I get a wxWidgets error (issue #9307). The weird thing is, I don't get it when I first open Scenario Editor. Also, when I am about to place certain buildings (in the actual game), I get a "Program 'spirv/model_solid' with required defines not found" error (issue #9315)
  21. Have you done any more work on the mod maker, @Perzival12?
  22. Using @Mythos_Ruler's map, I've been developing the idea of a campaign mod for 0A.D. The gameplay is inspired by other games with campaign mode like Total War, or developing cities like in Civilization. Develop your city : Cities can research upgrades that create economic activities around it. Campaign the map with armies, interact with other armies or points of interest : Get into battle missions by exploring ruins, or interacting with other player's buildings. Below an attack on a encamped army. The map generate a camp fitting defending army size and composition : Screencast from 2026-10-13 10-16-39.webm
  23. German mounted units seem to have incorrect composite words, it be more correct to use Skeutaridjô (for Javelin) Gaisaridjô (for spear cavalry) Aþalaridjô (for champion) Although if the Javelin Cavalry is really supposed to be Helvetian it might be better to call it Walharidjô (Celtic/foreign rider) or use a Celtic name.
  24. I don't think it's necessary to represent the different types of food sources. Quite the opposite, one food item in the icon is enough. People understand it perfectly well and it makes the icon much easier to read at small sizes, which is far more important than representing all the different possible food sources in a 16x16 px space.; there's no need to overcomplicate things. Your lifestyle choices and the way you choose to raise your children are entirely respectable. However, I don't think appealing to veganism is a sufficient argument to justify this change. It's difficult to determine where to draw the line when deciding aspects of the game based on specific ideologies. Not long ago, a user suggested that Mauryan maidens should be covered up because, based on his own moral beliefs, this was wrong. And there are many similar cases. That's why I mentioned the historical aspect as a more consistent basis for arguing in favor of this change.
