wackyserious
@Sundiata Thoughts? I saw something similar in the chariot mural depiction of the Kushites which you have posted. 1

I saw something similar in the chariot mural depiction of the Kushites which you have posted. I like it. Those chariot murals were New Kingdom Egyptian (in Kush) though, but fabrics don't survive well, and coloured reliefs from Kush are extremely rare (Sudan is in the rain-belt, so it all just melts away after a while), So Egyptian colour references are fair-game in my opinion (can't think of anything better actually). Those elephant animations in general would be useful for every faction with elephants, by the way...
Sundiata
@wackyserious Try to use this as your main reference for horses. Especially where those decorative bands are located around the neck, across it's chest, across the sides and back of the horse. For tiers, you can play around with the material of the bands (leather, bronze, silver), and the amount and shape (solid band, row of discs, row of rectangular plates).   Edited January 30, 2018 by Sundiata

I'm thinking of sprawling a rectangular mesh around the neck and letting alpha meshes or what you call it do the job.
Sundiata
@Alexandermb do you think you can come up with something for the horses, like in the above picture? Props for decorative bands around the neck, chest, sides and back of the horse.. Relatively tight fitting..
Stan`
Better if included in the texture.
Sundiata
Could someone provide me with a clean texture and another texture with stuff worked in + screenshot of the 3d model horse with stuff, so I know how it turns out and can figure out what goes where on the texture? Horse textures seems complicated, but I want to give it a shot.

Relatively tight fitting.. for now its better on texture, adding as a prop will mean it will clip or another solution could be export another horse mesh with neck prop point (similar to head) and see how behaves with the animations, same as the chest/side decorations, could be texture or could be added similar to the horse armors enrique did using the same skeleton and variants. Lion.Kanzen
That texture looks unpleasant with units, look weird, what you think @wackyserious

Yeah, it casts a high level of distraction but those are based on Egyptian reliefs depicting the Kushites. @Sundiata You can look at the horse textures in the public mod to have an idea on the layout. cavalry horse textures are also there.
Sundiata
@wackyserious, @stanislas69, could I see what this looks like on our horses? Before I take it any further... Â

Stan`
@wackyserious For clipping, there is not much I can do, It's because @Alexandermb animations move the prop point incorrectly it seems. Lazy fix would be a cavalry special skullcap

Lion.Kanzen
This beyond a mod, @elexis ? this only needs finish art and then try to balance with the other factions, and it's ready, more than Chinese, even Seleucids.
Sundiata
@wackyserious, or anyone who can, could you try out Kush horse texture v2.0 and give me another screenshot please?

wowgetoffyourcellphone
Isn't there a program or method that can warp a texture to give an output that doesn't look warped on the model?
Sundiata
@wackyserious, version 3.0 (should minimise some of the warping), other minor adjustments.. Â Edited February 1, 2018 by Sundiata

Doing it in Blender you can paint in there.
Sundiata
@stanislas69 could you perhaps apply the v3.0 texture to the horse so I can see if the adjustments worked? Then I can finish it and continue making simpler versions for citizen cav.
