  1. I use OpenGL for both. No mods enabled. I can confirm this does not occur with Vulkan, but a significant portion of players will use OpenGL. Alpha 26 (desirable) Current SVN (overbrightened) Alpha 26 (desirable) Current SVN (overbrightened) You'll see in Alpha 26 these sprites blended better into the terrain and are aesthetically pleasing, but now in SVN there's an overbrightness and contrast to their textures which makes them not blend nearly as well. The textures have not changed. Rendering them did.

  4. Working on hero and support unit portraits. Of course, they will be helmet-less, as the AI has a lot of trouble with historical accuracy when it comes to helmets, armor, etc. I chalk that up to the absolute glut of fantasy and medieval training imagery on the internet.

  6. lol, like Hell he did. Maybe in his own mythology/self-made-man lore. Whomever wins, we lose. lol
  7. I honestly like the idea of different types of catafalques/relics for each faction and/or map biome. In AOM, each match had 2-3 different relics with different names and effects on the map that you could pick up with your heroes. So, in 0 A.D., any India themed or biomed map could have 2-3 capturable catafalques (if enabled in setup), each with different effects. Similar for any Greek-themed map, Celtic themed map, etc. If we went that far though, I'd want to rebalance some of the catafalques. Some of their current effects are quite hefty. But any chance to pack in more history and culture, I'm all for it.
  8. Technology idea for the Roman navy: https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Harpax
  9. An entertaining read about Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa. https://www.badassoftheweek.com/agrippa
  10. Royal Guard Swordsman? Thorakites Swordsman?
  11. The only thing really preventing this is a custom animation, but we could use the "net throwing" animation as a stand in.
  12. I like it, but it feels a bit too subtle to me. Have any alternative mockup ideas? I'd be interested in seeing what you can come up with.
  13. There are vague plans and desires to differentiate chariots from normal cav, but it is all up in the air.
  14. I can't convey how long it took to get the AI to output something that looked like the Alexander references we have. Instead of "generic Western European bro", like the algorithm kept trying to give me:
