  1. Maybe someone can pick this back up. Looked good so far.
  2. Go ahead and make a topic for the Roman Colossus. I think there is already a topic for the Colossus of Rhodes.
  3. New Roman Reforms update pushed. Phab: https://code.wildfiregames.com/D5206 Commit: https://code.wildfiregames.com/rP28021 Those with the SVN (development) version of the game, please test.
  4. Yes! The overall colors and the color of the hair looks great. Please continue with this direction. I have no strong feeling about baking the AO into the diffuse. The Athena statue (in DE) does that and it looks fine. I think a proper separate AO map and UV map for the AO is ideal, but not 100% necessary.
  5. This one isn't half-bad. Would need some Photoshop work to remove some of the weird gold stuff.
  6. In that case, I think Antesignanus is the way to go. I'd just need to reduce their body armor even further. Here's how they look when I had Lanciarii in mind: The "Marian Reforms" ones were the blue, but for Antesignani I think all I'd need to do is give them a tunic instead of submarlis.
  7. Indeed, I once had the notion of a <MaxAttackers> element in the templates. Maybe... <MaxAttackers> <Melee>8</Melee> <Ranged>10</Ranged> </MaxAttackers> So that if more than 10 ranged units target this unit the excess will seek out a different target. Similar to how resources have max gatherers.
  8. His pronunciation of just about everything in the game makes me wince. lol But, still a good player and good cast.
  9. Latest version of the game includes differentiation for cataphracts and chariots, but I agree it does not go far enough. We need trample component and secondary attacks.
  10. Maybe, but I wanted to make realistic first, then turn them into an illustration.
  11. There are some synthetic voices in DE already. Carthaginians, Han, and (something else, I forget, lol). They are not perfect. The Carthage voices sound synthetic and not natural, for example. There is a thread on this forum about it.
  12. The article I posted makes the same point though. Using an idealized view of Sparta for political or philosophical reasons.
