  1. I mean, the poll was extremely one-sided against your view. So, I guess we can discuss it with or without you.
  2. I don't see why not. Should it be able to shoot too? I did this to emphasize cavalry more, but to not hamstring the civ elsewise. Realistically, they really wouldn't have a distinction between "infantry" and "cavalry." For nomads, they are one in the same. They would rarely, if ever, fight on foot, but if they did they would ride their horse to the place of combat, then dismount. Again, this would be rare and 99% of the time they would absolutely fight on horseback. The infantry are included only as a way to fill out the roster with needed classes to keep them competitive. Hmm, I was trying to represent nomadism in the simplest way possible. Also, I thought we were going to reduce or eliminate their dependency on territory. Integrating the Ovoo into their expansion meta could work. Not sure I like the effort needed to pack up a CC, move it, then unpack, then build an Ovoo, then move on, though. About the defense bonus, I believe the Scythian Ovoo already does this. You like? The current Stable/Corral is pretty loaded up, isn't it? I just didn't have a model to work with the distinguish the two, so combined them. For EA, I think the female citizens could maybe be upgradeable to Maiden Headhunters, with similar cost and stats as a mercenary archer. They can also have a ranged attack by default, like DE's Xion female citizens. In DE, they aren't really free, but of course wouldn't cost Glory in EA.
  3. Very possibly. You also see a guy in the background blowing what looks like a couple of dragon antlers, and a woman about to bludgeon a man with a baby. Romantic-era paintings are about 2% accurate and even less authentic to the depicted period.
  4. I think the game is way too wood-heavy in general. But too late for A27 to mess with it now.
  5. The Scythians and Xiongnu in DE only have territory attached to the CC and a small radius at that. That's to simply not break the AI and maybe give the nomad player some territory denial strats. No other buildings cast a territory and in fact can be built anywhere (own, allied, neutral, and enemy territory). The only building with a restriction is the Fortress and that is only restricted from building in enemy territory. The CC, house, and storehouse can be packed and moved. The House and Storehouse pack into the Resource Cart, which can unpack back into either of those. The Resource Cart is a dropsite for every resource and gives a small amount of pop cap bonus (half of a house), but is very vulnerable.
  6. Scythians are more complete than the Xiongnu, but both are playable. They're highly experimental.
  7. Can definitely play around with it. Have you played around in DE lately?
  8. Re: Elephants. Maybe too late for this alpha, but what about coming up with a tech tree for them for the next.
  9. We can always plan on Germans (Cimbri in EA, Suebians in DE) for Alpha 28, then nomads for Alpha 29... They had the lowest number of votes in the last poll, tied with Thebans. Scythians built fortresses, specifically the Crimean Scythians. They have a fortress in DE. Xiongnu might have built rammed earth fortresses (still need research on that).
  10. Continuing the discussion from here: A large majority of voters (82%) want to see another new civ added to the game. But now narrowing down the civ options since no civ received 50+% of the vote in the last poll. I've dropped the lowest 3 choices (and the "other" option since no consensus formed for an alternative) from the poll in hopes one will gain a majority.
  11. You should update this to Alpha 27, since that is being released soonish.
  12. The PreferredClasses of ranged unit attacks is "Human", so they should prioritize units such as other soldiers over buildings.
  13. In Rome Total War (1 and 2) when you select a battalion they yell "Hoplites!" or "Heavy Skirmishers!" or "Thessalian Lancers!" -- whatever the unit is. Very handy.
  14. Other examples can be found in Age of Empires (1, 2, 3, etc.) where a lot of command acknowledgements are even just 1 word! Send a Britons villager to chop a tree in AOE2 and all they say is "Chopper!" Quick, simple, to the point audio feedback.
  15. These sound very nice. The audio quality is good and the voices are very clear. I think the phrases they are using are too long. Too many syllables. It sounds like they are using complete sentences, when really they should be using short phrases and acknowledgments. So, when tasking a unit to do something, instead of "I will do that, my lord!", use something like, "Yes, my lord!" or "As you wish!" Fewer syllables and less overlap with the sound effects in-game. When selecting a unit, instead of "What can I do for you, my liege?", use "Yes, my liege?"
  16. I think we can increase the size of both rabbits and chickens for this reason. Soooo many people in so many discussions over the years wanted attack-by-default, and very few people spoke up for capture-by-default. I can't see how people can't just "suffer through" one alpha and see if attack by default works for them or not.
  17. @real_tabasco_sauce Think outside the box, bruv. Perhaps a Javelin Infantry +20% attack bonus vs. Elephants. Or reduce War Elephant -1 or -2 pierce armor.
