  2. Hi all, I recently updated my old "South_East_Asia" to be able to run on new 0ad releases. I tested it on the 26 Jan build (revision 28018), and it works for me! Here how it looks like: Download the map and see more screenshots at https://github.com/crazyBaboon/0ad_geo_maps Let me know what you think!

  4. Community mod version 6: Melee/Ranged rebalancing Melee units: +50% damage, less armor Ranged units: -25% damage (roughly the same damage vs melee because of reduced armor) Buildings and siege adjusted for higher hack damage Melee infantry slightly faster 9.5 ms base movement speed. clubmen get a small hack attack so they have fighting use. Non random building ai Buildings target closest units by default click to target units and select rally point on unit ctrl click to just set rally point to unit Accuracy for cc and forts reduced. Han fixes: poison arrows tech cost changed to 1200 food 1200 metal Fields easier to place Elephants get a splash attack Maury Heros: Chanakya: doesn't need to garrison for tech discount, slightly lower discount. Chandragupta: global ele bonus for speed and attack rate, local armor bonus for all soldiers Catapults smaller range and gain a splash attack

  5. Hello everyone, Today I would like to share a project that's been in the back of my mind for a while. Sharing replays has always been a mess and annoying and I wanted to address that a bit by providing a centralized address so that all replays you want to share can be uploaded there. I made a proof of concept Using Svelte &, Fastify and I'd like to hear your feedbacks about what you'd want the UI to look like, what filters would you like to see etc, details about the match (we don't have the possibility to get all the info) Here are some screenshots (Keep in mind the layout isn't set in stone, just wanted to have a convenient way to test things out) For security reasons there will be no direct upload button there if it gets online, but rather you'll be able to upload replays to single thread and it will be scrapped periodically. One can upload a zip containing a replays or containing multiple folders with replays, or just the commands.txt or the commands.txt and the metadata.json. 6. Hello and thanks for your development effort, In the past I have been strugling with heightmap import when mapmaking following palaxin's heightmap guide and written some posts in the forum regarding this: discussion on heightmap sources and technical data Novel method on preparing a heightmap from topographic and bathymetric images using ImageJ. The persisting problem I have experienced when importing a heighmap is that the image imported appear to be limited to 8-bit grayscale (or 24 bit RGB, but grayscale, which in practice is the same) whereas 0ad an its map editor allows 16-bit different heights. This fact is stated in the response of another post showing an import error. So, if the editor allows 16-bit height, why not allowing 16-bit grayscale images? I am convinced that mapmakers do not usually have enough technical background to deal with this and the suggestion of modifying the PMP map file by hand in a HEX editor is discouraging. So as I see it there would be two possible ways of improving the heightmap impor: Modify the code that import the image file allowing other options that can contains 16-bit images (such as TIFF or RAW) in order to edit the map in 16-bit already in your favourite editor. Write a plugin for your preferred image editor so that PMP files can be saved directly from image data and publish it. Open source community usually prefer GIMP, I use ImageJ, but any (free) image editor shall be picked. As I am not a programmer I cannot afford doing this by myself, however I encourage the development team to make a small effort in order to encourage mapmaking enthusiasts. Greetings.

  8. Hi there! I'm new in 0 AD and particularly in 0 AD Delenda Est, which the last is, in my opinion, the best RTS game I've ever played (and I'm a millenial who was raised with all the AoEs). However cannot find any working Multiplayer lobbie/forum/discord of DE. I found out that the (few) parties in 0 AD lobby are all set in the vanilla version, and on the other hand I don't easily see any Discord or forum. Help me please, I'm wasting the game Thnks!!

  9. Thanks a lot, this seemed to be the problem. Let's hope everything works now as I renamed the new folder to communit-mod-6

  10. Check to see if you still have the replays on your HD. I had the same error until I made sure that the folder name for the old mod was "community-mod." Once I change the folder name and enabled the old community mod I could see my old replays.

  11. Thank you very much for your help. I'll take time to run throught the troubleshooting you link to (I've been in that thread before, I'll give it another go). Just to quickly answer your question about my graphics adapter, i've run a command found online, here's the result : sudo lshw -C display *-display description: VGA compatible controller produit: Turks XT [Radeon HD 6670/7670] fabricant: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. 14. @Player of 0AD thanks for the suggestion. I could do it the other way. This is just the way that was first suggested to me. On the other point, I found that the healing ability was mutually exclusive with the ability for the hero to provide a discount, which isn't ideal. I can certainly make changes, but I would probably just make them for a27 rather than make a new community mod release.

  15. Why removing the bonus for allied buildings where you garrison Chanakya? And why not the other way around: ctrl click to target units and select rally point on unit etc Reason: In most cases you just ungarrison units on rams, but you don't want to shoot at them.

  16. Economic historians point to the emergence of Feudalism here. he Roman Road to Feudal Serfdom ...was an imperial road. Monday, October 10, 2016 Donald J. Boudreaux Politics Ancient Rome Regulation Taxation Here’s a post from ten years ago; it features some important history from ancient Rome – history that’s important because of the relevant warning that it offers to us today, namely: government economic interventions in general, and mandated price controls in particular, are barbarous. Feudalism Sparked by Rome’s Regulations On pages 642-643 of Will Durant’s remarkable book Caesar and Christ(1944) he discusses Diocletian‘s economic policies. (Diocletian reigned from 282 to 305 A.D.) In years of peace Diocletian, with his aides, faced the problems of economic decay. To overcome depression and prevent revolution he substituted a managed economy for the law of supply and demand…. To ensure the supply of necessaries for the cities and the armies, he brought many branches of industry under complete state control, beginning with the import of grain; he persuaded the shipowners, merchants, and crews engaged in this trade to accept such control in return for government guarantee of security in employment and returns…. In 301 Diocletian and his colleagues [joint rulers of an administratively divided empire] issued an Edictum de pretiis, dictating maximum legal prices or wages for all important articles or services in the Empire…. The Edict was until our time the most famous example of an attempt to replace economic laws by governmental decrees. Its failure was rapid and complete." ------ It would be interesting to have a loyalty system with some units, if you raise taxes to a very high level your units lose loyalty and become foragids and bagaudae, like neutral player (Gaia). You could capture it again or they would simply walk around the map creating problems in exchange for money. You would have fewer units in exchange for money, it is like exchanging population space for money, Obviously it should have limits. Maybe it could be a mechanic on some single player map. ----- Durant goes on to explain how these economic regulations, combined with higher taxes, caused people to engage in unprecedented levels of hiding their productive activities from the state and in to fleeing Rome. Medieval feudalism, Durant argues, finds its chief root in the restrictions that Diocletian and his successors imposed as they attempted to tie people to the land in order to prevent them from fleeing: "It was probably to check this costly mobility, to ensure a proper flow of food to armies and cities, and of taxes to the state, that Diocletian resorted to measures that in effect established serfdom in fields, factories, and guilds [p. 644]." Durant concludes this discussion with the sorrowful observation that relatively few Romans protested, as they apparently were hoodwinked into believing that in exchange for their freedom they were gaining greater security. https://fee.org/articles/the-roman-road-to-feudal-serfdom/

  17. Welcome to the forums. I don't know about your ceasefire question, but there are other ways to get into the game. When starting a match, by clicking the cog you can set the difficulty and behavior of the enemy. You can also slow down time. That should give you enough breathing room, but there's also guides on youtube and in other formats that can help you. Or just ask questions, I'm sure people will answer.

  22. It is a video game that in many parts are abstractions. For example investing a little bit of meat does not make babies. The units are already born adults. . Final all that the game has are attractions to be able to have fun. Where the game is based on AoE quite a lot. Which means that it is based on Warcraft and civilization. Warcraft and Age of Empire the heroes are extremely powerful.
