  1. I don't understand people, why they don't work on that. (OK, ik about VUlcan API or whatever it is, and i guess that's nice try although I have no idea what that is...). Especially people from community-mod. Guys added so many (nice) updates, but idk if that's priority... Anyways, I tried and made some quick mod, there's also video: It needs to be tuned and tested, but in general it doesn't look as too bad try, for me. Eco goes faster (you can go to p2 in like 5-6 mins iirc), you have fewer units (=less lag, more pleasure to micro), etc. Idk why nobody reacted? I guess it's bad.

  2. i think attack move (units only) should take the place of the current attack move. That's the one I can safely say should be done by default. I have other changes that are very much just my preference.

  3. I think overall, Empires Ascendant's unit production times are ridiculously fast (except for champions, which are frustratingly slow to train). There are other ways to make the game have early action than to make it a spam fest.

  4. And it doesn't lag in teamgames when everybody maxed pop? Anyways, we need to slow down unit production 2x... AOE needs like, what, 20-25 mins to get to max pop?

  5. I suppose we could need another server, which currently costs about 500$ per year. One would have of course to finish developing the dedicated server feature

  6. @real_tabasco_sauce Do you have other suggestions of keybinds you set, but aren't set by default in 0 A.D. ?

  7. One thing I learned just now is that AOM:R has servers and they've abandoned P2P multiplayer hosting. This is just fantastic.

  10. I honestly think that the 0 A.D. community could use less guessing of who is who and more banning of all these narcissistic smurfs. There is now a player who has been convicted of spreading lies and degrading the community. Letting him contribute in this way sends a message that this is tolerable. I understand that there is this concern that it might not be fair to ban one player and keep another (for now), but this fear will IMHO do more damage. It feels like trying to be nice to someone who is robbing you. I'd even recommend only talking to smurfs with a dose of contempt like I do. I consider remembering your password to be a sign of respect for the community. And not-remembering is almost always an excuse anyway because otherwise they'd pick a name similar to the one they're know by. Let's not tolerate the intolerant. P.S.: Posting publicly the whole contents of the chat including allied and direct messages is inappropriate.

  14. After today I just declare it "relevant". Hope you didn't personally suffer consequences, but to the deciders: if you move processes to the cloud it's obvious you're giving away control over them.

  15. It's not that hard to add but that means it will steal some of the simulation time measuring stuff that's probably not that important for most people.

  16. I don't know about that. For one, heroes have super strong stats and could be used for very cheesy stuff early on. I suppose we are introducing a p2 hero (kind of a B tier hero) in a27 for Athenians, so we will see how strong that is. @wowgetoffyourcellphone what about this: instead of selecting a hero, you select a ruler. This would be a purely infantry unit without much fighting stats, but some bonus or aura, potentially you could use existing civ bonuses for this too. I don't really like doing it at the start of the game, because it becomes a 1 click strategy: your choice would determine your follow up moves. It could be interesting to make this available from the cc once you reach p2: Click an icon in the cc called "Take rule" or something, and it pulls up the dialogue to make the selection. Then these ruler units could be used for regicide. idk, just a thought.

  17. What i meant to say was: if we think the fortress fails at defending an area, we should make changes to ensure it excels at it, rather than make changes to add other functions to it. It should excel at its main job first before exceling at other things.

The game is currently divided into three phases: - Village phase. - Town phase. - City phase. The problem with this system is that it focuses on the concept of urban development and the development of the great Mediterranean civilizations. It wasn't relevant enough for civilizations such as the Gauls and Britons, but it's going to become even less so if we add nomadic peoples like the Scythians. I propose a more neutral system: Ascent / Expansion / Zenith Ascent (or ascension): This initial phase evokes the beginning of the development of civilisation, where it rises from its modest beginnings to broader horizons. It can symbolise the period when the foundations are laid and the first advances are made. Expansion: This phase represents the period when civilisation expands and prospers, colonising new territories and extending its influence and power. This is a stage of growth and exploration. Zenith: The final phase, the apogee, suggests the pinnacle of civilisation, where it reaches its full potential in terms of culture, technology and power. This is the moment when civilisation radiates its greatest splendour.

  20. This should be the job of a building called fortress. It should secure an area against unprepared assaults.

  23. You don't understand again. It does change how game plays. My suggestion keep game same but only produce less units on screen.
