Indeed. I think I've collected a few little features that I know exist, like this one, that people perhaps aren't using. What we'll need to do is identify where these things are clearly documented and explained and then link to them from SM posts. With any luck that might actually encourage more people to explore the guidance overall. I'm just back from holiday - @Stan` - might need to hit you up for a bit of additional info2 points

I played them last night against Norse. (Easy win spanning dozens of archers). Really cool civ. And most of the buildings seem also "game ready". I hope to see one day this faction in the official game. Congratulations2 points

The only thing I mind about the omniscient AI is that it can throw down a foundation of a CC in a region where it never had a unit close to it.2 points

Macedonia 44 - A Band of Heroes (Part 2, 325 BC) After returning to Mesopotamia, Alexander took the time to rule his newly formed empire. New laws, new rules, power plays, and shuffling of satraps were all day to day events. Occasionally, Alexander would host lavish parties with drunken debauchery, but he also enjoyed frequent hunting trips. On one such trip, Alexander took those closest to him -- from Macedonian and Greek nobles, to Persian satraps and even Indian adventurers. The hunters used small boats to reach the hunting grounds but a surprise lightning storm wrecked havoc to the small ships. Alexander finds himself alone on the short of an unfamiliar river, his companions nowhere in sight. A local band of archers has fortified itself awaiting reinforcements -- while Alexander was generally liked throughout his empire, many of the local Persians did not pledge allegiance to him and would rather see him captured or dead. Alexander must find and rescue the remaining 10 hunters and make haste to a small Greek colony that will provide safety. Little does he know that making to a safe house is going to be only half the battle. Notes: some building have dialogue options -- move a unit close the building (perhaps circle around) to trigger them. AI Settings: Players 2, 3 and 5 (the Persian Villages) should be set to Petra with a difficulty of your choice. All others should be Sandbox.2 points

The Iberian faction is very well synthesized with several people who constituted the ancient Iberia . However , following a historical context , the great war that was fought in Iberia were the Lusitanian wars that made Rome tremble. These are the terms in which Strabo refers to the Lusitanians : " The most powerful of the Iberian nations , and among all , longer owned the Roman arms . " - Strabo . So that as with the subdivision of the former " Celtic " faction among : Gauls and Britons. I think it is more justified subdivision between Iberians and Lusitanians . "Those they call Lusitanians are the most valiant of all the Cimbri . " - Diode Siculus . Besides the historical context , reasons abound from the point of ethno - cultural perspective, the Atlantic - western , folk ( Lusitanians , Galaicos and Asturian ) , constituted a civilization itself , which many archaeologists designate " Castrexa " , framed as Proto -Celtic . His way of fighting were very different from Iberians . While the Iberians were generally more peaceful and non- waged guerrilla warfare , leaving siege by the enemy . The Lusitanian constituted mobile military units without the Romans podessem employ their siege tactics ( as they did in Gaul and against Numancia Celtiberian ) . More than that , the Romans persecuted the Lusitanians in surprise attacks and relentlessly . For a Lusitanian there was no greater glory than to die in combat . The Lusitanian weapons were also well above the Romans , so that the Romans tried to copy in vain , his arms the famous Glaudios Hipanienses , yet never managed to reach the Lusitanian excellence. even more terrible was the " Machaera Hispanienses " ( falcata ) : "They make weapons and darts in an admirable Manner ; bury They are plates of iron so long under ground , till the rust hath consumed The Weaker part , and so the rest passe more strong and firm Of this They make Their swords and other warlike . weapons , and with these arms , tempered Thus , They are cut through every thing in Their Way , that neither shield , helmet , nor bone can withstand them " . - Diodor Siculus . The Lusitanians fought on foot and horseback , was his peculiar way of fighting : 2 Lusitanian rode one horse, when confronted with enemies , jumped and fought on foot: " And because They are furnished with two swords , the horse , When They have routed the enemy , alight and join with the foot , and fight to admiration . " - Diode Siculus . The new faction , Lusitanians , could have such a differential in the game , a single horse , mounted with two jinetes , and once in combat units would drop 2 against the opponent .1 point

Me gusta mucho. I like that. I hate that maps in 500 BC are empty it's like the land without humans1 point

yeah, that's fair, I haven't played that much the latest version, so I was probably stuck a few releases behind Anyway I was just shuffling a couple of ideas/variables from the concept of interactive sites on the map, but I defer to you guys for a deeper knowledge of the game. I apologize to Lion.Kanzen for having maybe misused this space that was more meant for references and concept visualization. Sorry for chiming in1 point

I don't think "too much turtling" is a problem with this game.1 point

IMPERIVM series has supply vagons, I loved that game. Rise of Nations also has something like those, but not really fun in the way they work, I think. In alpha 24, battles would generally last a lot more than now in A25, and a constant stream of reinforcements was often important for victory; this was not very different in practice from a supply chain as being asked, and I liked that strategic dimension of the game. This kind of things doesn't have to be forced into the game, but can be "made happen" in the way that feels more natural for the game.1 point

I don't think it sounds like fun, but I don't really see it coming. Should it actually be implemented I gonna push for the inclusion of latrines, sore feet (sore butts for cav) and STDs to add depth and realism. :p1 point

I don't want to be that guy, but if the only originality in the core design of the Thracians (or even Illyrians, Dacians etc.) is basically "Hellenistic... but in wood", I don't think it will be remarkable. For the moment I understand it is only a mod for the game, but if in the future it will be incorporated, I do not think it will fit within the others for quality.1 point
-
Probably should abandon the "minifaction" concept, since the Xiongnu ended up just being a full faction. lol But yeah, along with Scythians and Thracians, I consider the Nabataeans one of the best candidates to either include in a mod or the main game.1 point
-
For now the team has talk about add a faction , but not a Iberian one, may be Scythians. Be has this discuss about Edetani, Turdetani, Lusitani, etc. but the answer for now is not, but may this can be changed by mind team and art department, may be a convince not design document can be the difference in here. Even all faction can be a mod faction after to be presented as full faction.1 point

All units would consume food, cavalry more than infantry and elephants far more than either. Chariots would consume a lot too. You would need two new units, a supply cart and some sort of mobile store, the van of classical armies. Having to plan supply drops would make a more interesting game and far more realistic. Huge armies camped away from home would require planning and attacking the enemies supply convoys becomes an option. Your soldiers can also hunt to supply the van, living off the land0 points
