andy5995
What does anyone think about a change that would make it so ships could only be repaired if they were near a shipyard or dock? Instead of the ships having the ability to get repaired by any citizen worker near a shoreline, they could only get repaired by a "healing" aura of a shipyard (like a temple heals units)?
Lion.Kanzen
give them a radius like the temple? I'm agree.
AIEND
I agree, and I think there should be two halos with different maintenance efficiency for small fishing boats and large merchant ships and warships. I designed this in the "mirror" mod.

Anyway you can lost 40 - 50 soldier reparing onde ship vs então ship, so It can be wrong for some players.
Graham1
How about being repaired inside the dock (similar to units).

I think one of the civ's had/has this feature. If I remember, it was in one of those large round docks. It would seem more realistic to repair this way, rather than any villager/militia having the tools on them to do this.
Loki1950
Repairing a ship by dragging up on the beach has always been done a was still common in the so called age of sail the shipyard is just faster as all the tools and trained workers are available. That would be the cart Cothon. I think it's ok, although I can't remember ever using it. Maybe allow it for all civs and give the Cothon an additional bonus. AFAIK it was always the case that repairs were made while the vessel was sailing. Ofc not a dry dock situation, and one probably wouldn't be able to replace masts, but apart from that I'd actually be ok with an auto-repair up to 80%.

On maps with few ressources one thinks twice whether sending their wounded ships directly to death or giving them a second chance by repairing them. Got back here when finding out there's a new ticket #6777 for this feature request by @Langbart.
